You probably notice that over some perion of time Gran Turismo 5 becomes more routine than pleasure (Its still my favorite driving game of all times) I want to share my vision of what I think and want to change about it (since Kazunori Yamauchi sayd that fans change Gran Turismo and they realy read this stuff). This idea came to my mind when I was driving Endurance race on Suzuka circuit!

The main idea is how to create GT tracks and gameplay more alive and maybe even more realistic.

1. Make License tests like real ones, maybe in some huge parking lot, alot of stuff to do on in (learn braking, hard turns, overtaking, sliding, learn to avoid real crash situations, reaction tests, driving/sliding in wet and recover car, real race driver instructions "how to" etc.)

2. Start career as usual - casual driver at start - slow cars at start, but the idea is to create GT racing more mature. Restrict alowed cars in races (similar to online, but even more): Legal road cars (seperate FR, FF, RR, MR, 4WD), GT500, GT300, DTM, F1, WRC (group A, group B etc.), Classic car races etc.

3. When you start career race it would need to do a practise lap (if needed), then qualify, and then Standing start with lights and false start check for more realistic feel to it and more fun (also make it more competetive), more laps for each race *(since now we have save game option) 10 - 20 laps at least, podium finish should add more celebration showing your player receive prizes and throphies on podium with champagne, cash, flowers and beautiful girls as usual ;), your trophies should be seen in trophy section in GT life (lets say if you won "FR challange 300HP" it should say the exact same thing on it on close up) very usefull stuff for collectors and for good memories.

4. Create new GT point system (smilar to Formula1), we should not be able to win every GT event, they should be more competetive and real, the idea is to collect GT points for winning events, and go to participate in next one even if you didnt win previosly (later it should be replayeble), gain points for 1st place - 10 points, for second place 6 points and so on. Get awards not for every event but for each level (cars, suits, horns, cash and whatever PD comes up with) all this would make no need to win every event in game.

5. AI crashing, imagine you drive endurance in Nurburgring and then out of nowhere two cars are heavily crashing in front of you, you are able to avoid them by milimetres, safety car drives infront of you from pits, flags are on, while you drive pass you can see how workers tow away beaten cars away, then safety car goes to pits and heavy racing continues... just to see some of it would be epic, and while racing that woul add positive emotions! (I dont say this is something we need right away, but to see this in near future would be very good, in GT6 maybe GT7, but why not even in GT5)

6. Single player should have "your fans" they get more in spectators stands over your career progression (wearing your team colours), and if you are more successful (just like in Drift flag system) people start to shout, scream and make noises while you drive by them, even better if you are lets say from Canada, they would shout "GOOO CANADA GOOO" and raise Canadian flags upon spectators stands, that would make tracks so much more alive.

7. Add more real life stuff, tracks and cars are good but to make it to feel like you are realy racing good physics isnt enough, birds, animals, more people working (selling hot dogs, drinks etc.) I didnt see any trash cans in GT5, so there should be alot of trash from people waching the race :)

8. Tyre restrictions in each race, HP limit, weight limit, car type limits (all different in beginer and pro races)

9. Track workers showing flags, cleaning track, running around working, movement should be all over the place (sometimes I feel like Im the only one on the track like in desert, esspecially in endurance races)

10. Penalty system, no need for shortcut or collision penalty for 10 seconds or more, that ruins gameplay and race. There should be warning system instead, you get automatic warnings for doing something bad (they should be seen in GT life and for other people aswell, showing exact thing you did and how many times, how often) you get 2 warnings in a race, its ok, but if you get third one then you have to drive thru pits if rage continues you are disqualified!

Feel free to add stuff to my list!

Dont forget this is my opinion on what I think GT should look like. I just hope that PD will use at least some of my ideas for future updates or in next GT. (Im sure some of it already is in PD "to do list" they just didnt have time to create them or have PS3 limits)

Vote for this in GT Feedback so this thread draws at least any attention for PD. link - http://feedback.gtplanet.net/forums...51947-gran-turismo-future-vision-please-read-

Many thanks, share with me what you think.

Sorry for some mistakes, english is only my third language I use dayly!

Some additions you might like.

1. Making it so you need specific licenses to do races is a must! As you get beter then you need to work hader to win. Also this should relate to how good the AI are.

2. How about implementing trackdays into the game. Can you imagine racing round the nurburgring at your free will and there being random cars from fast to slow that you have to drive past or get out of the way for, And at the end of a lap or 2 they pit in and a different car leaves the pits ect....

3. How about the Penalty system also adding seconds on to your time at the end of the race if you cut a corner or do somthing you shouldn't.

There's a lot of stuff there.
License test should be based on the reality of gaining racing licenses in reality. It's should be more about driving consistently fast and smooth, not about an out and out fastest time. This one lap crap currently is awful.

I definitely agree about a more realistic simulation of a race weekend, practise, qualifying, standing starts are a MUST.

Improved Ai is the holy grail IMO, I'd HATE to be an Ai coder for a racing game. Getting that fine balance of speed/aggression but without making the Ai shunt you all over the place is obviously VERY hard as no game has ever quite done it.

Signmc I like the idea of track days, that's more or less how I treat the seasonals.

This may not be a wishlist, but what I really want in the future of GT5 is...

... drag racing. I can't stress this enough. Seriously, it doesn't matter how hard I try, I still don't understand why there is no drag racing in Gran Turismo yet.

Back in the day Kaz said drag racing was gonna be featured in GT2. The drag racing fanatic as I was and still am, I got all excited, but nothing happened. Then he said it was gonna be in GT3, and I thought "Yes! This is it!", but again, nothing happened. Then when it was revealed Infineon Raceway (of which the drag strip could be seen in the 'License Center' in GT3) was gonna be in GT4, I thought "This must really be it, now that we'll get a proper drag strip and all". What happened? Well, PD decides to scrap the proper drag strip at Infineon Raceway (even though the road course was included!!!) and instead include a fictional one on the streets of Las Vegas, which you couldn't race on. 👎

The 'License Center' screen in GT3 I was talking about...
You can clearly see the Infineon drag strip, complete with a tree and everything. Why was this never included!?

Through all these years I've tried to find a reason why PD still haven't included some sort of drag racing mode along with a proper drag strip, but I've failed to find one. It should be so simple to implement that it's scary, and I'm almost starting to think they refuse to include it just to make me mad.

My future vision for Gran Turismo

Two careers.

1. Offline career. Similar to A-spec now but with improved AI.

2. Online career. Start with lower end cars or even karts and work your way up by earning XP based on results. Winning XP if you place better than people with the same level or higher and losing XP when you place worse than people on the same level or lower.

3. Arcade mode. All cars and all tracks available from start

wow, that is extremely good idea! I think most people would love to see that, including me! 👍

maybe PD could even combine Offline and online career mode, that would be cool to participate online in chamionships.. just select race you want to enter, take your car fit it to regulations, and then join (wait couple of minutes while other people join that race and off you go, career mode online.. earn points and prizes for podium finish.

track days and drag racing also is big part of car wolrd.

Vintage versions of tracks already in the game -- The legendary 8+ mile version of Spa; Monza with the high banked oval and no chicanes; Fuji with the REAL turn one (high banked right-hander where you dove down into the turn instead rising up into it ala Daytona); Suzuka with 130R back in all its white knuckle glory; Pre-1970 Lemans (I promise to keep my car out of the crowd); Nurbergring with Sudschleife. Heck while I'm dreaming why not also ask for Rouen (long version), original version of Zandvoort, original version of Charade, Avus 1959, Mosport (which is still in its original configuration I believe), Reims 1966, ...

I played a while today online and remembered this, I actually cant find any room Im loking for.. server descriptions are wery short, (I look for all driving aids off, everything set to real, autorace start every 5 to 10 min, Fair and clean, damage light, and sometimes its GT500 I want, sometimes, Street cars, sometimes its Rally...) well it's impossible to right it down even, half of it, I 99% of a time create my own rooms and trying to type everything, but its just impossible to do right.. people join in and then quit and again and again... :( so am I... cant PD make short descriptions avalible for online room hosts.. so we can type down exactly what we are/will be playing...

feedback for this-

You won't find a bigger drag racing fan than me. I grew up within 12mi of 2 drag strips and from the time I was old enough to drive I spent every weekend at one of those tracks and did plenty of racing my own cars.

That said, I DO NOT want to see drag racing in GT5. I say this for the same reason I don't like seeing Karts, NASCAR, and F1 cars in GT5. GT5 does a very poor job of implementing those racing disciplines and they waste time and resources that could have been used to make the sports/road car racing what it should be. I love racing all those types of cars, but when I want to race F1, I put in F1 2011, same with NASCAR, Drag Racing, etc., etc.

I agree on that "resources" stuff, but maybe they will learn how to after some time.. physics feels good, but all other stuff what is about those types of racing is forgoten.. I would still give them a chance, they have potential to do great stuff. The problem is we are geting old and dont have so much time to wait.. maybe they need more people to work on GT... not sure 140+ should be enough... I think if the updates are comming, the game will change eventually in a good way, and GT6 should be "the bomb" if they lisen to theyr fans, especially on GTPlanet. I read here tons of great ideas and tips.

Good and not so good points in here :)
I think, being a EA Fifa fan and player, the career mode from the Fifa series, could very well be introduce in GT.
As normal, you start from scratch with very little money, buy a car and go racing to earn money to get yourself a better car, then better races, then more money, bla, bla, bla... the difference would be, then, as you become a better racer, you get offers from Private Teams or small teams to get you on the racing ladder, then providing how good you are... you get offers from the Real World Teams, to participate, as a guest in the beginning, in big events and show and try to impress the teams for contracts and stuff...
Just a thought :)

I can almost guarantee there will be some sort of drag racing as DLC. I myself am not surprised it's not included yet. Remember GT has always been Kaz's own dream and obsession, hence the 20,000 different skylines, Drag racing just isn't popular in Japan, it's all about the performance, cornering and drifting.
