GT5 Drift Magazine Idea - Rough Magazine Cover Added

Everyone is having ideas lately so I want to throw mine out there.

I was part of Skate 3(game) community and they had a magazine where it would come out every month and a half with pics and info on teams, vids, newcomers, interviews, and more. It wasn't long either, just long enough for it to be a great edition to the community. It drove people to work harder at their skills and also made everyone have fun.

I just had a idea to make a magazine. It can have a info and pics on newcomers, events such as VDC and small comps, teams info like new members, shoots and all that, and custom tracks. It can also have like ads for new teams looking for recruits, or regular ads for like cars in the game. With more and more DLC coming out, there will be more and more cars, wheels, tracks, etc. It can even have showcase for videos so people can start making more. It's just an idea but I think it can be a big thing if it was started. I just want to know what the community thinks because it's a community thing.

I was bored so i made a rough draft version of the Cover of a drift magazine if i did make one.

Could be alright. There all ready is a GT5 magazine though. Couple months and there is only 2 issues. Very good issues but only 2. For it to be good you'll need dedication. Sounds nice though

I know what you mean, GTLife. And I know it will require dedication.

Yeah but that's why I said that it's getting bigger with new teams and stuff.

I don't know if I will do it yet but I want to. Plus it will be like GTLife but with less words and more pictures. It will have articles but it will be more showcase with articles instead of 2 pages of straight 12 font size text.
 
Man thats a cool idea. we could even have ads for perfomance parts like fake ads for titanium exhaust Haha. That would be so cool! I'm not all that good at writing or photoshop but i would deffinitly like to help out and make sure everyone's voice gets heard.

I made a rough draft model of my Drift magazine. Just an idea. I still don't know if I will make it because the community is not extremely big but the topics, events, and pics from teams and stuff is a lot. I am in college so it wouldn't be a lot of pages but it will be enough for a month. What do you guys think?
 
Thanks you all. I'm just thinking that if I start this project, I have to be 100% committed and that's not the problem. Its if I want to commit. I would love to do this though.
 
Im sure if you need any help with it the guys on GTP wouldn't hesitate to help with this. Me personally I'd love to help out in any way possible.
 
I will but not this moment. I got 7 classes, 21 credits. I'm swamped and college classes aint even start yet.If someone wants to start where i left off, its cool. I would probably start in 2 months time, maybe, when im cooled down from classes. If i wasnt in classes, this would be numuro Uno because I really wanted to do this.
 
I think it would be an awesome idea. If I was decent at anything I would pitch a hand. Looking forward to when you get time to do this.
 
No offense, but this is dead horse. There is not enough content to produce a entire magazine with a certain regularity (even a PDF with few pages). While instead, you should make a way to convince the GTLife editors to make a regular space for drifters, since there is no exclusive section dedicated for this.

None taken. I just think it would be awesome to have an independent Mag. I know the community is small but hey, it never hurts to try. The first one always is the one that determines if you should continue or not. If I couldn't get enough material for the first one then I wont bother by making a second one. Pitching a idea to GTLife would be nice but thats not the right Mag style for what i thing a drift mag should be. No offence to GTLife, I read all their stuff, but a drift magazine should have more of a photo style then a writing style. Would you rather read about drifting or see drifting?

I agree with what ^he said. It is a WONDERFUL idea. But I say...who cares if you run out of things to talk about. Its a great idea that I'm pretty sure everyone would like/want to get into. I mean working harder not only to do good in comps and such, but to be on the cover and/or get interviewed and noticed!! Great idea, two thumbs up :-D

Let me write in another way, because even i disagree of what i wrote there, hahaha. Of course there is nothing that shut the possibility of build an independent magazine. Also, in fact there is a good room of content for make magazines with some regularity, and im not talking about images only. Even in this sub-forum, even with so many repetitions of threads, there are a lot of writen material, that with some adaptation, could work perfectly to a good magazine.

In my point of view, a good drifting magazine goes above the only car x car in a corner. Its also about knowledge, setups and techniques, about lifestyle, music, periferals and their diferences, interviews, GT5 Drifting "celebrities". Even tips not related to the game itself could fit, like a tutorial of how to make a good drifting video on youtube, including comparassion of video capture devices, editing techniques, audio mixing, and so on...

I can imagine right now that most people who read it will think: Oh no, thats beyond of what i would like to do or see in a magazine... oh no, thats too much strugle, lets do it simple. Yes, thats how another ideas of magazines in this forum started to fail. And i not even mentioned how many strugle is necessary to make a good editorial piece of work, specialy with an extreme sport like Drifting and his visual concepts. No offense, so far i only saw a cover, and honestly... its not very inspiring in a way visual art. I can say that because i work in real life in the press media, so i know how this kind of work is huge, and people dont do it only for passion.

Speaking about GTLife, witch is building a solid and trustble history so far, even with so many gaps between each edition... also is independent, somehow. But they are in the 3rd edition already, producing some really interesting product, and improving. And for me, as GT5 e-drifter, i would feel a lot more satisfied to see a space for us in that magazine.

Anyways, nothing says that you should not try to make it happens... ill be here to stand up and clap my hands if you do a good work.
