Step 1: Saving fastest lap.
After you have achieved a clean laptime, save the replay using the 'Save Best Lap Replay' option, as indicated in the screenshot.
Step 2: Exporting replay data to XMB
Go to the replay library and move your arrow to the Best Lap Replay you saved in the previous step.
Then press triangle and chose the option 'Export Save Data'
Now the game asks if you're sure a couple of times, so just reply with pressing X until the replay starts saving. When it's done it'll say 'Save Completed'. Be sure to write down the number at the beginning of the file name, so that you can easily find it in the XMB and later on your USB stick.
Press O to go back to the game.
Step 3: Copying to USB stick or memory card
To do this step you have to quit the game. In the XMB, go to the 'Saved Data Utility (PS3)' in the 'Game' column.
In the following list, go to the 'GRAN TURISMO 5' folder. In this folder, go to the replay file you exported in the previous step. It can easely be recognised by the starting number.
Important! Pay attention to the driver name and make sure it's your GTP_ PSN id.
If you haven't plugged in your USB stick or card, do this now.
Press triangle and select copy. Now select your USB stick or card and press X.
The replay will now be copied to your memory device.
If there already was a replay on your memory device with the same name, the PS3 will ask you if you want to overwrite that replay. If you still need that replay, be sure to copy it on your PC before continuing.
Step 4: Preparing replay for uploading
This step will take place on your PC.
Plug in your memory device and copy the PS3 folder to your computer, for example to my documents.
Now open up the PS3 folder on your computer. Make sure that there is only a folder name 'SAVEDATA'. If there are other folders, delete them.
Now open the 'SAVEDATA' folder. Look for a folder that ends with -RPL### (example for EU PAL version: BCES00569-RPL001)
The ending number is the same number you previously used to identify the replay.
If there are other folders listed, delete those, so that only the replay folder remains.
Now back out of the PS3 folder (to my documents if you copied it there)
Right click on the PS3 folder and chose 'Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder'
If you have another program to compress the folder, you can use that to, but please save it as a .zip so that everyone can unzip it.
Please rename the zip file to GTP_name_Qualifier.zip for example.
Now the replay is ready to be sent/uploaded
Step 5: Uploading zipped replay to site
Important! This step is for uploading the replay to the site. If you have to send it in an email, you just have to add the ZIP file to your email as an attachment.
Go to the Results thread of the week you entered in.
Now click on the 'Go advanced' button.
In the following screen, type some relevant text (for example: Here is my NTSC replay.)
Be sure to include the game region in the text.
Now click on 'Manage Attachments' in the 'Additional Options' panel.
A pop-up opens. Now click on the first browse button.
Find your zipped file and press open. Now click on 'Upload'.
Now wait until the file is uploaded and listed in Current Attachments.
After this you can close the pop-up window.
You should be able to see the zip file listed above the 'Manage Attachments' button.
After this you can click on Submit Replay and you're finished 👍
If you have any more questions, please post them in the Pitbox
