Hi!

I've read many threads with different strategies for La Sarthe Seasonal Event B-Spec. Many of them didn't work for me, as I have a low level Bobs, about 31 and 26.
This post goes to all the people who doesn't have the Chaparral 2J '70, since not everybody can afford it.
I have an Audi R8 (Audi Playstation Team Oreca) '05. Many strategies are valid for people whose Bobs are in a high level, but if they aren't, it can be quite difficult to overtake all the cars, and if the mood gets red and the resistance of the driver is low, as it is in low levels, he may mistake sometimes. The way to avoid this is to do a different PIT STOP STRATEGY from the other drivers.

So, this is how I won the race:

BOBS:
Level 31 and 26.

CAR:
Audi R8 (Audi Playstation Team Oreca) '05.

CAR SETUP (thanks to fryercar):
763 hp 950kg
700 pp
Aero 55/80
Engine 86% (aproximately, till it gets 763hp)
Stage 3 turbo
Top speed 242 MPH
Final gear 3.500
calculated speed 247 MPH
Torque 35
Accel 50
Braking 35
Suspension at default
Brakes 7/6

PIT STOP STRATEGY:
Starting tyres: RH
2 Stops:
1st Stop: at the end of the Lap 2. Change driver. Tyres: RI.
2nd Stop: at the end of the Lap 8. Change driver. Tyres: RI.

The differences between this strategy and the other strategies are when the pit stops take place and what type of tyres are used.
The common strategy is only 1 pitstop at the end of the Lap 3.
Another common strategy is 2 pitstops, at the end of the Lap 3 and at the end of the Lap 9.
I think this is wrong because if you follow my strategy, you' get rid of all the traffic, and you will run into "clean laps", no drivers ahead.
Besides, if you pit on the lap 2 instead of the lap 3, your time in that lap will be much better because you will have already changed to RI.
And finally, if you pit on lap 8 instead of lap 9, when all the cars pit on lap 9, you will be leading the race, so the 2 final laps with RI tyres will be much easier.

FINAL TIME: 40:14:362

I Agree with this strategy. I won with the Pescarolo Judd and the Bentley with +17,xxx and +40,xxx sec ahead respectively.

Need to watch the race though. Still its very easy to win. You will avoid getting stuck behind the faster cars for the majority of the race. After Lap 3, you should be in first place an keep this till finish.

Enjoy.

Hi guys, I use Bentley Speed 8 with high rpm turbo, detune to 700pp, the car's setup is default. Both of my Bob are level 24. start the race with r/h tires, pit one lap after the leader for inter' tires, run to the checker flag with no more pit. total time 40.13.xxx mins. Bob's level jump to 26 after the race. I did it twice already. Chappy 2J can do this strategy too, as my friend said he did.

With danmargar's settings (thanks to fryercar) and pit stop strategy with 2 Bob's 31 + 29 I won finally !

With a little change in strategy pit. I did the second pit stop at the end of 7th lap.

Final time 39.59.659

Thanks danmargar !

You're welcome CostasDrifter! The key to win is the strategy I used, it works with any car.

That is the pit strat I used. Won by decent margin as well.

Tried this yesterday, used a level 28 and 22 bob, managed 3rd with this strategy which I thought was not bad considering they are low level bobs. Going to get them both up to level 30 and try again, fingers crossed for the win this time :-)

i did it in the bmw vmr lm or something like that

no strategy: overtook in second to last corner
strategy, pit early, easy wion

The strategy works, althoigh the first time i tried it, my 1st driver was the more agressive driver of the 2 , so he also was the last 1 and in lap 10 i couldnt calm him down and then the bug took over after he scratched some sand at the dreaded turn.

The 2nd try i switchef the drivers and started with the calm one, that was a perfect race.

Just did it in the audi r8 playstation car. Sports soft and no pit stops. Won by 21.xxx seconds. Any one else do the same.

If you put 10 Liters of fuel in each stop (It will be done before the tyres) You can stop the sliding you get after lap 4-5 due to there being less weight in the back. Or just throw on some ballast, and reap the reward of also having extra Horsepower.

Maybe combine the 10 liters extra fuel at the end of lap 2 and also put sportsofts under it and dont pit at the end of lap 8, i will def try this :)

Excellent, this worked well :D I used a Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race Car with Stage 3 turbo and 1038bhp. I turned down the downforce to get to 700pp.

The extra power meant I blasted through the field along the straights. By the end of lap 2 I pitted and was in 3rd (albeit right behind 1st and 2nd). I then had a fast, clean lap on 3 and over took everyone. Managed to pull out a 35 second lead keeping BOB at 75%.

Pitted on start of lap 8 and drove to victory :D

According to all your reports, it seems this race can be won with many different cars, but if you don't choose the correct strategy, surely you will lose the race. The key is the strategy, pitting in laps 2 and 8.

Worked for me. Won it @ 40:02.555.

ETA: Just did it again, but tried a 3-stop strategy just to see if it would work. It did, but it kind of didn't, too. I won, but by only 3.583 seconds, with a time of 40:43.xxx. I changed nothing, but drove more aggressively (or had my Bobs do so. :) ), and I worried that my tires weren't going to make it to the end of Lap 8, so I pitted at the end of Lap 6 for RI tires, then at the end of Lap 9 for RH tires. The track really wasn't quite dry enough at the end to take advantage of the RH tires, so the AI were gaining on me a bit. Still won it, though, even with three pit stops. It's *possible*, but I can't recommend it. :)

Worked....... Sort of......

I pitted at the end of lap eight & all was well. I left the room & my stupid Bob decided to pit again at the end of lap 9. I walked up & he was in the pits. Errr, I almost thru my controller.

Other than hitting the Cancel Pit Stop command, does anyone know how to force your Bob not to pit stop?

Use sports soft tires.

Not really. I do wish there were far more options available in the "Pit Strategy" area, such as downforce adjustments, tire compounds, fuel strategies, and perhaps even minor suspension adjustments (camber, anti-roll bars, etc.). I also wish you could lock in your pit strategy before the race (Pit in on L2 & L8, or Pit in on L5, etc.), and then the only way Bob would change strategy was if you overrode the earlier strategy and told him to come in.

I don't like that he wants Race Hards on the last lap, because the track still isn't really dry enough to get a good lap time with them. For instance, in my 3-stop race, my best lap on the RH tires for the last stint was a 4:08.xxx lap, while the run before that, when I used RI tires at the end, my final lap (and I was cooking, I'll admit) was a 3:47.xxx.

But the game insists that RH is what the last lap demands, so it keeps trying to make you pit, no matter what you say. :(

No. I'd suggest watch the game while it's playing. I don't think PD wanted to add a B-spec seasonal that you can just automatically forget, walk away from for an hour.

Thanks danmargar for the race setup and Hawkeye for the 10 liter tip. I was trying with the Minolta, and though I didn't finish a complete race, I could see I wasn't going to make it. Too much power and my 31/29 Bob's were spinning too much by lap 6 that they were falling back.

The Nissan R89C popped up in the UCD with less than 3k miles and I almost bought it to see if Bob could handle it better. Instead I went with the '05 Audi from your post and set it up as per instructions. Won the race by 12 seconds. I came into the pits at the end of lap 1 by mistake, so by lap 8 I had no tires left. After the AI pitted at the end of lap 2 I was in first until I was passed by a Judd (I think). We played cat and mouse for 2 laps until I eased up and stayed just close enough to keep his taillights in view. I guess having pitted on lap 1, my tires had 2 more laps on them. I didn't get the lead back until he pitted on lap 9.

The funny part about the race; guess what car I got for my ticket...a brand spanking new Nissan R89C '89. lol

Good fun for the Bobs. Plan on trying it again( and again) but pit on lap 2 like you said. Thanks.

Worked for me
Used the BMW V12 LMR
Instead i pitted lap 3 for RI and Lap 9 for fresh RI was second by time i pitted
Pescarolo was easy to pass since it couldn't keep steady on its RH
The only time i got scared was i thought the AI Pescarolo was gonna knock me into the dirt
Thanks
