Hi!
I've read many threads with different strategies for La Sarthe Seasonal Event B-Spec. Many of them didn't work for me, as I have a low level Bobs, about 31 and 26.
This post goes to all the people who doesn't have the Chaparral 2J '70, since not everybody can afford it.
I have an Audi R8 (Audi Playstation Team Oreca) '05. Many strategies are valid for people whose Bobs are in a high level, but if they aren't, it can be quite difficult to overtake all the cars, and if the mood gets red and the resistance of the driver is low, as it is in low levels, he may mistake sometimes. The way to avoid this is to do a different PIT STOP STRATEGY from the other drivers.
So, this is how I won the race:
BOBS:
Level 31 and 26.
CAR:
Audi R8 (Audi Playstation Team Oreca) '05.
CAR SETUP (thanks to fryercar):
763 hp 950kg
700 pp
Aero 55/80
Engine 86% (aproximately, till it gets 763hp)
Stage 3 turbo
Top speed 242 MPH
Final gear 3.500
calculated speed 247 MPH
Torque 35
Accel 50
Braking 35
Suspension at default
Brakes 7/6
PIT STOP STRATEGY:
Starting tyres: RH
2 Stops:
1st Stop: at the end of the Lap 2. Change driver. Tyres: RI.
2nd Stop: at the end of the Lap 8. Change driver. Tyres: RI.
The differences between this strategy and the other strategies are when the pit stops take place and what type of tyres are used.
The common strategy is only 1 pitstop at the end of the Lap 3.
Another common strategy is 2 pitstops, at the end of the Lap 3 and at the end of the Lap 9.
I think this is wrong because if you follow my strategy, you' get rid of all the traffic, and you will run into "clean laps", no drivers ahead.
Besides, if you pit on the lap 2 instead of the lap 3, your time in that lap will be much better because you will have already changed to RI.
And finally, if you pit on lap 8 instead of lap 9, when all the cars pit on lap 9, you will be leading the race, so the 2 final laps with RI tyres will be much easier.
FINAL TIME: 40:14:362
