Hmm, it's a real shame you know, I love this car, but only when it has proper tires, with CMs, I should've known what I was in for I guess, but with CMs the game doesn't do the car justice, may as well me a lotus elise (again, the game doesn't do any of those models justice imo).

RE: comfort mediums
Perhaps comfort tires do not suit all tastes.
But the majority of people I race with complain if a car is "too easy" or "too grippy". Particularly in LOW HP road cars.
It's not an easy car.
But I think people like that it is a challenge.
There are many races to race racecars with racing slicks, and high powered sports cars to race on sports tires.
Not as many races available to race low powered road cars with road tires.

Great job as always, Watermelon! Sorry I couldn't be there for the Daytona race - everything locked up coming out of the Eifel race and my ego (and car) were too bruised to reload.

In particular, it was great racing with Geeky30, cc, jackargent, and yourself.

It was an interesting mix of racers and racing styles. Personally, I don't enjoy being poked, prodded, jostled, pushed, nudged, bumped, scraped, nosed, weasled, and generally molested at every corner, so I drifted to the back in most races with the other slowpokes. Still had a lot of fun, though. I just wish people wouldn't pass on the inside when there isn't enough room and try to go three wide on every single turn. Probably just me being a fuddy-duddy.

I enjoyed racing on the CM tires - it keeps folks on their toes and ensures that no one can get too comfortable.

@ Geeky30: yes, I love taking photomodes!!!

And the autozam is very very....

Yeah, I froze between Race #3 & #4, and had to hard reboot.
I wish they'd fix these bizarre game problems related to lounges & lobbies. *sigh*

You're not a fuddy duddy! I thought your driving was impeccable in such a crazy little car on tight tracks! 👍 The Autozam is definitely a car that takes some getting used to, that's all. And I think most were unprepared for the fact that just because this is a very low hp car - it is NOT exactly slow & easy.

I know some of the bumpies in these races were caused by some inside passing, yes.
That's never a safe choice, and usually does lead to some kind of contact.

I have some advice to avoid having the more eager people attempt to pass on the inside, but it takes all of us to prevent it...

That bit of advice has helped me IMMENSELY.
It leads to following cars not having the temptation to pass on inside.
I find I get bumped less, and involved in less racing incidents by driving defensively.

Defensive line is, yes, slower than "ideal racing line".
But defensive line, when there's a car close behind you... is faster than being involved in a racing incident.
Defensive line is better than getting passed!!

You can test it by going into you own private lounge. And select t"tuning prohibited" parameter.

If you can go to track, it is allowed, if not it is forbidden.

But I'm convinced you have to remove it.

I think aero is disallowed by tuning: prohibited

You can remove aero kits in GT Auto. (This is not permanent like engine upgrade or weight reduction. 👍)

This is ALWAYS a good idea to test in advance of race.

I loved that car. If you ever do another Autozam cup, count me in. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and I'm kinda tempted to come and join in again on Thursday and just have some fun in the pack. Looked pretty tight there round Cape Ring.

You are welcome to join us Thursday of course!!
You can't use ballast with tuning prohibited.
But you can always buy a fresh car and not have it broken in...
And the power limiter is allowed with tuning prohibited, if you want the extra challenge!

Yes, I think I will plan another after this one. Perhaps not for some weeks though.

Perhaps we can use the tracks I ruled out of this one... like Rome.
And perhaps Indy Super Speedway.
And another custom track, and another race track.
Will have to do some testing! (excuse to drive it more! )

Ok, so how do we test if we have prohibited tuning or not? do we have to create our own room? I didn't put on a rear spoiler, because that would be clearly cheating, but the front body kit gives a bit of a lift to the car (its not the full mazdaspeed look I was going for, but oh well), and didn't increase PP, plus it drives the same.

I'm going to guess we have to create our own room, and see if that works.

UPDATE: Just checked, and the answer is no Oh well, it doesn't effect performance either way, just means the stock car looks, which are good anyway.

Yeah go figure why certain things are okay, others are not.
Power limiter is allowed in tuning prohibited... but body kits that don't effect PP are not.
And ballast is prohibited.
I can understand prohibiting ballast position, because clearly that's a tuning method... but I don't know why adding ballast is not allowed but using the power limiter is.

Is there an issue with the lounge system? I've tried getting in an additional 4 times, was once booted, other times everyone else has just left the room? Was booted just then as well?
