.: Drivers Briefing :.

You must follow the car specs and regulations pictured below! Not following specs will result in an immediate disqualification.

Your car must be fully broken in before each race. Not following this rule will result in an immediate disqualification.

You are NOT ALLOWED to go in the settings page between feature & sprint race.

While inside the race lobby, do not use the 'chat' feature while stewards are sending out instructions for pre-race checks. If you have questions, go ask them now! Otherwise, read the op. We will be using a special pre-race qualifying that is listed below - read it! Thank you for your patience!

nordschleife.png

qualification rules for Nürburgring 24h will be not usual. You have only one lap to submit your superlap.

The Nürburgring is a motorsports complex around the village of Nürburg, Germany. It features a Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a much longer old North loop track which was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. It is located about 70 km (43 mi) south of Cologne, and 120 km (75 mi) northwest of Frankfurt. The old track was nicknamed "The Green Hell" by Jackie Stewart and is widely considered one of the most demanding purpose-built racing circuits in the world.[1]
Originally, the track featured four configurations: the 28.265 km (17.563 mi)-long Gesamtstrecke ("Whole Course"), which in turn consisted of the 22.810 km (14.173 mi) Nordschleife ("Northern Loop"), and the 7.747 km (4.814 mi) Südschleife ("Southern Loop"). There also was a 2.281 km (1.417 mi) warm-up loop called Zielschleife ("Finish Loop") or better known as Betonschleife, around the pit area.[2]
Between 1982 and 1983 the start-finish area was demolished to create a new GP-Strecke, and this is used for all major and international racing events. However, the shortened Nordschleife is still in use, for racing, testing and public access.

Tyre Regulations

  • All qualifying will be run using Racing Hard tyre's
  • In every race ALL cars will can use of 1 set of Racing Medium tyre's. This also applies to the sprint races.
  • The use of the Racing Medium tyre's is optional.
  • During each sprint race, there will be a "Pit Window". This is where all cars must pit.
  • The Pit Window for each sprint race will announced in the race specific thread (here) in the week prior to the race.
  • If you damage your car and wish to pit, you may, however you can still only use 1 set of Racing Medium tyre's per race. you will also still have to pit in the window.
  • Failure to pit during the window in the sprint race or using more than 1 set of Racing Medium tyre's will result in an immediate disqualification.

important note:

Qualification rules:

Since the track is so huge, your lap start from the sector just before Flugplatz and to the finish line. Concider the secotrs before Flugplatz as your warm up lap. Only one shot! No second lap to wish fore in case of an off.

Green Flag:

Polecar will decide where the start is (somewhere before the same sector indicator prior Flugplats as your quali started from). He must make sure that ALL cars are clear of the last turn before starting.
It's totally up to the pole car, as long as ALL cars behind him are on the straight. He can not start the race if the last car is still in the middle of the last turn. Pole car has right side of track for first right turn.
IMPORTANT: Pack will role SINGLE file (A long snake of cars) during the warm up section, and prior start, NOT double file as usual due to the narrow track.

Pit Entry: Nothing special about it.

Pit Exit: Make sure to respect the white pit exit lines. You can cross them, but only if you're 100% sure that the track is clear.
And since it's slightly down hill, and cars that are on track approach at around 240-250 km/h, the smartest thing is to stay inside the white lines.
As always, if an incident occurs as a result from a driver crossing the line (Either the one on track, or the one wxiting the pits), a penalty will be handed out.
This is imortant to think about if your about to overtake a car down the main straight and plan to outbrake the car down the inside down to T1. If you're on the wrong side of the white pit exit lines, you'll be held responsible.

(Nürb GPF)
Running Wide:
There's a few spots to be extra careful at.
  1. On the way out of T2, towards T3, make sure to keep at least 2 wheels on the rumble strip at all times. Do not go wide!
  2. The exit from T4. Make sure to stay inside/on the solid white line with at least 2 wheels. This is a spot where significent time can be gained, so stewards will keep an close eye out here. Always try to stay inside. If we see a driver going full throttle and going wide, a penalty will be handed out.

All penalty's will be provisional until the 4 C's have been completed by
the PURE Racing Evolution Group

"4 C's" process approach to resolving incidents - Contact, Check, Convene, and Convey.

Contact - we will contact all drivers involved. People will be told against PM'ing us, instead they will only need to fill out the report (which will be a Google docs sheet) then they'll need to wait for us to contact them.
Check - we will then follow up by checking available evidence, like replays, photos, stories, and comparing them for consistency.
Convene - it will be a rule that in order to complete the process we must get together with at least one more official to get their opinion and confirmation on findings or proposed action, we will not contact any drivers involved at this point.
Convey - we will contact the drivers involved and officiate the results or penalties and send the package to series heads for posting/archiving.

Ballast.? ..

Looks like your provisional results from the last race, have you in 3rd. So add 20 kg on top of what you currently have and you'll be safe. 1080kg. Set the car back to original spec after oil change, then add the ballast so your pp value isnt skewed.

Cicua will probably have ballast and pp up later.

nice job man!!

I have finally got the PAL-GT500 results. Thus:

Updated car specs

Well I won't make this race on Friday, so I'm out.
Had an excellent season with some brilliant racing.
Only negative I have about the season was the switch to public lobbies, everything else was good tho. 👍

Good luck to whoever makes top 4, and excellent job done by you litchi and all the stewards who qualified everybody every week.

Cheers.

It's taking a hell of a long time for someone to post the results of the GT500 race... Wonder why????

Just looking for clarification, on quallifying does the time start from the start of sector 5? The first sector time after you leave the gp/f circuit.

Thanks in advance

We did last season so id imagine so Twist.

Edit: Meant to say "We did" ;).

I thought the qualifying lap, as well as race start, was right before Flugplatz?

It was after S5 (Starting S6) for sure as I remember you had to take off the first 5 sectors off the total time to get the quali time ;). (I should know I qualified people for this last season :sly:)

Qualifying will be done on the same track of course. But there's only 1 lap instead of 4 set.

Qualifying is set in round 10 over one lap. The first three sectors of the lap are your "warm up lap" like the traditional out lap of regular live qualifying. The rest of the "North Loop" section of track, all the way back to the start/finish in the GP track will be the qualifier.

In order to calculate the qualifying time we simply deduct the first four sectors from the total lap time.

We will qualify on the standard version of the track instead of the one with time change

Total time minus 1st 4 sectors. Qualifying is the loop.
Example 8:30.xxx - 1:45.xxx= 6:xx.xxx

As a steward, watch the sectors and write down the first four watched in live timing. Could be slow or fast depending on warmup style. Then after watch the rest in full mode for lap cleanness. Write down the total time and minus sectors 1-4. Also add 5sec for shortcuts or offs.

Last night I ran some lap in a free run room, with a pretty quick time change in an Academy 370 on sport hards. That was a lot of fun. Hopefully itll help a bit.

I have just checked last season's thread and paul is right. We discount the first 5 sectors, the qualifying lap starts at the start of the6th sector.
To clarify, you have 5 sectors to warm your tires and then your qually lap begins andends at the finish line on the GP/f circuit, if anyone is unsure, please ask a steward to show you.

Ok, why would we want to start further back on the loop. That's missing the first set of important turns in the the loop. I don't get it. T1 , that nice right then to the slow left right left where guys crash ig going in to fast. That is an important part of the track and is not being used for q.

I really don't know, this was the starting point from last season. I think this is also where the race starts.

Sounds good then. as long as we're all on the same page.

Total Time - sectors 1 thru 5 = qualify time

Nice job litchi, on the threads.

Really looking forward to this. Shame to see Apollo go since you were my main rival in making it to the top 4.

Gonna be a busy day for qualifying tomorrow. Hope everything goes well.

Also hoping to see ballasts updated asap. I know everyone's busy but qualifying deadline is tomorrow so it's getting quite late.

So, starting right before Flugplatz, just as I said. :)

Yup, I was going off what Eddie put up before the thread was made. Glad I didn't q last night.

Is there any maintenance scheduled? Maybe it's passed.

By the way I'm in Pal 1 right now if some Gt500 guys want to join for a couple test races or something. Would be nice to see where this car is strong and where it is weak.

Cicua, u have do a mistake on the previsional results : 1 PP point for you not for byggy. Or perhaps it's a gift ;)

Not sure what PP point you mean? ByGGy has no ballast, and 80 kgs do give 524pp for me.

Wait, you mean the pole position points. You are right. Fixed it now. Thanks!

Reason:
Since we can't do a full formationlap for obvious reasons, we had to come up with an idea. Making one part of the first lap to replace the full formationlap, and also find a nice straight to start the race from.
And the first sector once we reach the Nordschleife is in a bad place to start from since it's just after a really sharp turn (cars will be left way behind if we released the field here).

So the best spot is the straight section prior Flugplatz.
Also, the fact that the quali is one lap/shot only for this one, keeping it a tad shorter than the full lap is a good compromize.

So the race and quali start at the same sector line to keep things easy as well.

NOTE: For this race, field will roll SINGLE FILE, due to the narrow track.
