Hi there and welcome to DaxCobra Tuning. We are a small tuning group who tune Cars, mainly with Sports tyres. We usually tune for grip, but may occasionally post the odd Drift or Drag tune.

If you want a car tuned by us, you will have to post a full review of one of our cars on this Thread, and then send the car over to us for a brief time. We will then get to work on it and send it back when we are happy with the result.

We might be looking for another tuner or two to join the team, so we can post more tunes. Also, test drivers are welcome to come forward so our tunes can be used by multiple people before being posted.

Tuners:
DaxCobra / GTP_DaxCobra

Test Drivers:
neljack / neljack
DrivingForce / TeamLotus_Esprit
bypo/bipito

So, lets get down to business!

Tuner Comments:

The original Cobra 427 was a brutally aggressive car. It was hard to handle, even in straight lines. You would have to have full life insurance before taking it on a track. Our version, however, has been designed for Nurburgring racing. We have stabilised her, with a new suspension, LSD and gearbox set up. Do not be fooled into thinking this is a watered down version though, as we have increased the horsepower using a Racing Exhaust. This means it actually delivers more horsepower than the originals! Word of advice, only put your foot down when you know you're straightened up.

Tuner Comments:

The name Renault Clio usually conjures images of a small 'boy-racer' hatchback, with a big body kit and a small amount of power, driven around by 17 year old boys with Burberry caps. Well, the Sport V6 is totally different compared to the normal Clio, with it's radical MR layout and sporting physique. Our version, the Clio 407, is even more radical. It has been lowered, the engine has been tuned to the max, and tuned to be the perfect track day car. It's handling is extremely neutral, making it a very easy car to drive on the limit. Have fun beating supercars!

Do you mind? This thread is for me to post tunes and others to post feedback or discuss the tunes, not for others to advertise their tunes...

Tuner Comments:

The Ford Mustang is hardly known for it's handling capabilities, especially the newer ones. Despite it being a bit of a challenge, we have turned a Mustang into a handling machine. Meet the Dax Mustang 350GT SC. It can set 1.08.8's around Grand Valley East / Reverse, which is extremely quick for a car of this type. Also, it is perfect for the nurburgring. It feels tight and rigid, ready for the track.

Dax i just arrived tonight at home ;) I went to the ps3, clio v6 -> cape ring periphery.
I already had a very good tune for it, from praiano i think and raced his before and then yours.
This is very small as i will drive it tomorrow afternoon for a longer period. ;)
I did 4 or 5 laps with praiano tune, got a time like 1.41 (i can do better), and passed to yours.
After a few laps with your clio, i am hitting 1.40, and with some major errors!
What i noticed is: the car is a lot more easier to race on the limit, more kart-like, very agile and can keep a lot of speed and grip in the corners.
What i am having trouble with and i think it is what make my errors, is:
- the brakes - 4 in front and 7 in rear is making me oversteer a bit in the corner entry, losing a bit of time correcting it.
- the other thing, its not a problem, but is harder and i think you could try a different tune -> the transmission. In every corner, with your transmission setup i am running a higher gear always. What was 3 with my first tune, is now 4th, 4th is now 5th... you know?
And in order to be faster exiting a corner with an higher gear, i have to keep an higher speed through it, some times creating understeer therefore lose some time... Wouldnt a diferent setup in the gears avoid that?

So, as i said, this is just 20 minutes of racing with it.. I expect to drive it tomorrow and adapt me to it better ;)
Your tune is very good DAX. Was a pleasure to drive it after a week without GT5 :)

Unfortunatly, gearing is my weaker point when it comes to tuning. Also, the whole braking thing is more of a personal preference. I like to get the car to slide slightly into a corner, but if you dont like it just put the braking to about 6 / 5. Thanks for the feedback, i will have to work harder to get the gearing right. :)

The 3 points diference between 4 and 7 is to much for me. I changed it to 5/6 and it become right ;)

The transmission is really hard to get it perfect.. I never care to much about it. Sometimes just use the slider trick and that is it.
Just try to make it fast while accelerating like it is now, but in lower gears i think. The rest is very good, very suitable to a lot of tracks so everybody can use. And it works well in other higher and lower tires DAX.

DAX i come up with this transmission setup:

Final Gear - 3.000
Top Speed 200 kmh

1 - 3.554
2 - 2.727
3 - 2.120
4 - 1.739
5 - 1.469
6 - 1.277

In the straights i get 5/6 more kmh with my gears.. But i think they make the car a bit more slippery. Try them if you want, and tell me what you think.. ;)
In cape ring periphery, my best time with your setup - 1.40.013 ;)
With your setup and my transmission setup: 1.39.789..
HOWEVER, i made this time only once.. All the others were 1.40 min, and with your transmission i felt the car was more stable and i was always hitting the same times.. ;) so i prefer yours Dax.

So what, you prefer my transmission now? :D

Well.. yes... it works right with your car tune xD or maybe yesterday i was to fresh with your tune. Today after spending a good amount of time with your car and transmission, i was feeling good and droped the time ;)

The difference in time with my transmission setup is due to the straights of the track i supose.. those straights are long. ;)

When will i see some more tunes? Its weekend man xD Some new time trials.. you should do some tunes for them.. ;D

Tuner Comments:

This car was used by me in the TOCA Season 4 GTP Championship hosted by Furinkazen. I won 66% of the races using this as a base tune. LSD Tuning was not allowed in the series, so I had to really learn how to tune FF cars as it is not my forte. I am sure you will agree that this car is supremely good at launching, accelerating and cornering.

Now taking requests for a little while, so if you want a car tuned, just ask!

Heh, not after a request, but I have to say, I am interested in ex-league cars, so do expect some kind of feedback on that Mazda in the near future. :D
