Nice ! That quick shift thing you did I think is the same thing Retromaniax did with his a while back , he called it his "special start"

Thanks, yeah it is the same thing he did, i duno if people consider it legit or not though, when it was first explained by him there was abit of controversy over it.

i've managed to match his time now using the same launch technique

It's controversial due to the fact that it will flop if used online.. If it will fail online.. Why use it.. But as you've done maccer showing a 2nd gear launch below 👍

In not sure how you did it, best i got was a 9.033 with a tune like that

ive had enough.

ssrx and ind are different. retro tuned to get best ssrx times.
they are TWO DIFFERENT TRACKS ad they need TWO DIFFERENT TUNES!!

if you wanna slag on someone ssrx time and tell them to run it at indy, and they lose to your slower time doesnt mean they cheated or anything. these 2 things are compltely different arenas and needed to be taken as that.

no one should care whether that time is your online car or not because we ALL use some sort of start method in ssrx. if you wanna get like that f:censored: the whole leaderboard on thee other site and make new submissions with proof of a flat foot on ground start.

i agree, and now i remember retro, he couldent run on indy, only ssrx. im pretty sick of all this route x stuff too, should have used indys surface.

karo i really hope you can run that on indy.

I see, well personally i will never post a time here that i cant run on indy. I personally find it a bit misleading, so all my cars will be runnable at indy.

I can still run it on Indy I just need to launch it off 2nd gear... That's a 1st gear launch I posted I can post a 2nd hear launch for you of you like?

This is my Indy tune I launch from 2nd quick shift to 3rd at a certain RPM

He's using Retro's trick. Can't take anyone seriously with ACR times anymore.

I knew posting this pic up would stir the controversy again, I'm not sure if you're specifically refering to me about not being able to take ACR times seriously anymore as I stated how I did it and wasn't trying to fool anyone into thinking that time was full throttle launch.

I dont race much online, and I'll admit im not fast online I have a slow reaction (actual reaction), a poor connection so I get alot of lag when in international rooms. All I can do somewhat competitivly is tune in the speed test, and that is what I enjoy doing alot.

In not sure how you did it, best i got was a 9.033 with a tune like that

It's all about when you hit the throttle you have to press it after the "1" shows up and just before it says "START"

With this tune I can get these times..

After 3...2..1. with a 1st gear launch quick shift into into 2nd I run a 8.983

After 3...2..1. with a 2nd gear launch I run a 8.989

Full throttle laucnh in 2nd gear holding accelerator while the screen is black before the track loads I run a 9.026

ive had enough.

👍 Pretty much every top 3 time, maybe even as far down as every top 10 time on the leadboard is done by pressing the throttle after the "1" and before just before "START shows up in the normal launch gear, and I think everyone knows this, and im also pretty sure this technique is useless online aswell, but noone questions it, people just use it for posting leadboard times and its accepted.

Great time karo very fast! 👍 how much faster do you think it gets with this launch technique?

We can probably achieve a 8.980 or even less but its all based on timing.

I know your pain  My reaction is ok, but I have the connection from hell and to stay competitive I need to race in UK rooms. That’s why I gave up online racing ages ago as I was lucky to get a decent UK Indy room twice a month... or I could join the mayhem at a Top Gear room  The speed test is the only real level playing field for me too.

I also commend you for your honesty bud... I'm positive there are plenty who use retro's (and other) methods without even hinting at it 👍

Exactly, the minute I started messing with my EK to post better times that was the minute I started loosing at Indy and I cannot remember how it was setup previously but I must admit that it's fun to compete with everyone here to see who can make it faster at the X.

I must suck at trick launching cause my acr decides to kill itself when I try short from 1-2..

retro was talking to me about it and he says for the acr if you time it right (very very very quickly after go) you can make it have perfect bog range, make 1 and 2 fully left for it is what i was also told.

I could do it in my gts 1/10 times haha but id have a 9.11X time so i didnt add it up

Simple Matt
It's a fake launch that fails online.. Only good for 'false' SSRX times

Then it is useless to me then lol. If I time my launch I hit 8.991 with second gear launch. Unless I get tree'd or my connections bad, I rarely lose in it

Yeah my second gear launch is good for a 8.989-90 but i gave it a shot with 1st gear and its pretty effective at the SSRX. But very useless at Indy

This method could lead to false times and bragging rights..

I meant submissions in general. So many people use that technique on other cars, you can't tell if the people on the boards got that time the legit way or using the trick. That's one of the many reasons why I had mine removed and not since submitted any of my times or tunes. I'll tune on X for the transmission then move online for finishing touches & suspension because Route X alone will never give you a winning Indy tune.
