GT Academy Prize Car Seasonal

Lol. Ok, so did we have the opportunity to win the cars, or not? I don't recall seeing any event or discussion in where we could win these cars, which are now mandatory for the seasonals.

I realize that you can borrow them from others, but it would have been nice to have the chance to own the cars. I guess in reality, it just turns out to be location-specific DLC, yes?

Unless you were living under a rock, lol. I don't see how you could have missed all the news about as it was plastered all over these forums as well as the GT website. And yes, everyone had the opportunity to win the cars, even Canadiens.

Lol, this happens to me all the time in the regular GT TT's. I tune a car, put it on share, then everyone proceeds to beat me with it. The nerve of people, lol. Seriously tho, its a great feeling just to be able to help people so I really don't mind.

It is always a great feeling when a good driver can show the true potential of the cars I tune :D......I still wish I was a better driver though :dopey:

Well, PD is sneaky. Now that round 2 is up (11pm EST), I see that the previous round has completely disappeared. It doesn't even show as "expired" (like the TT or other events). I still don't believe I could have been away from GT5 for 2 weeks. It's also a shame that the only way to own these 2 cars (Leaf and Silvia), is to have been logged in at a certain time.

I couldn't care less about the seasonal / academy, but I do try to collect all the available cars.

It was going on for more than two weeks, try 4 weeks or so as they had 2 rounds per week (8 rounds total) for a total of 4 weeks plus you were still able to win the cars for a week or so after it ended so thats actually 5 weeks. Like I said, news of it and rules, etc were all over these forums so yea, you must have been in a coma or something, lol. Anyhow, if you want to borrow them for these events, they are shared on my GTP_CargoRat account.

Any details about the second round? I'm away from my ps3 for a few more hours. Thanks.

Took the lead last lap, last turn. Bone stock Silvia, 0 miles, no mods, no oil change. Now that's some fun right there! No easy win (for me at least). :D

Gold at Toscana is very easy once you learn a couple of tricky corners.

The car is great. Except for the monster gap between 2nd and 3rd gears. Who designed the transmission?

Wait, so if everyone had the opportunity to win these cars, then how come psn store didn't allow me to download GT Academy..?

RKM has some great setups, give it a try (minus permanent mods if you wish): https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=7369042#post7369042

Where are you from, 'cos it was the same for me in South Africa & apparently for Australia as well?

This question has been answered 2,114 times...you had to create an account based in a country which could get Academy. Then you simply downloaded Academy from the store using that account.

What I hadn't realised was once you downloaded it, it tehn became available to play using any accounts you had on your PS3 and you could get the prize cars on each of those you used to enter.

I'm not at my PS3 just now but was wondering what tuning can be done to the silvia? Thanks!

The setup from the link above was brilliant in stock condition with just suspension, transmission and drive train additions and settings. It handled the track very nicely and stuck like glue. Maybe it's just my driving, but once the power upgrades were applied she was very slippery once I got a little skewed. A wheel user may not find it so difficult to keep straight. having said that, it was sufficient to do the job. "tup:

Just done the trail mountain race with a fully tuned silvia..quita a comfortable win past the leader at the end of penulitimate lap..fastest lap was a 1.41.965

slower than bob
yep! I won all the cars. Only problem is, I want to keep them in ''green ticket'' form (i'm a collecting nut), so, as I was too dumb to race on multiple accounts...I have to borrow them to do the seasonals!

Why? Why do people do this? It's a game, there not real cars! What's the point in having them in ticket form? U can't even see them never mind drive them, maybe you would be bettrer stamp collecting!

Is the new Silvia seasonal possible stock? I'm trying not to tune my GT Academy cars at all. In case it matters, I'm a very good driver, for a DS3 user.

Those who seek, find. Those who don't seek, don't find. It's pretty simple: If you want to take part in exclusive events all you must do is check GT planet or the official site http://www.gran-turismo.com once a week. If that's too much for you then there's no reason for you to complain. No effort=no reward.

Survey: For people who raced in the event, which car have you recieved with the Gift ticket in the Silvia event?
