GTPlanet's chat room will be removed from the site on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at approximately 11:00pm ET (that's 03:00 GMT on Oct. 15, convert this to your local time zone here).
Why is the chat being removed?
The chat is hosted by a third-party service, which is very expensive for me to maintain. Combined with ongoing abuse, technical problems, and a lack of functionality, I have decided to not renew my contract with the service.
Will another type of real-time chat return to the site?
Yes, I currently plan on introducing more modern chat system for GTPlanet, though I can't yet offer a specific time frame on when that might be.
