Honda announce Johnson

Honda confirmed today that they will be supplying TOCA Independent Chris Johnson for the upcoming season. The Honda Cr-Z which is new for this season replaces the old Honda Civic after 2 season's racing and it is the only car in the championship to be a hybrid with an electric motor accompanying the petrol engine.

Chris was kind enough to give us a statement for the upcoming season. "I am very happy with the support given last season when I raced the Civic and hope to continue this partnership throughout the season and hopefully get improved results in the new car and i hope to fight for the independents championship"

Are spots full? Also, I was having a hard time finding out when the races will take place. I see no specified day or time yet. Am I missing something?

We are full at moment, unless you can nick a deal as a test driver or reserve driver for a team.

Spots aren't full, you just have to go to a pre-quali before the race to qualify for the main event. And you are missing something, keep scrolling down the OP and you will find the tracks, above them will be the date of each race :) They are all on Saturday, 7.45 race start, pre-quali will be at like 7pm or something.

EDIT: Ignore that, apparently spots are full

Its no problem. Besides, as much as I'd like to join I have work at 5:30pm til 9:30pm on Saturdays (UTC). Shame, I've race a couple guys that are here and I enjoy the challenge they bring to the table.

Some clarification.

Should a Top 12 driver not show on race night, it just means an extra spot from the pre quali race.

So normally 12 + 4 qualifiers, if 1 is missing, then 11 + 5 qualifiers.

the deadline was 7pm BST which was nearly 4 hours ago but Furi needs time to count the votes so my guess is tomorrow

I'm assuming this also means that the more top 12s that don't show, the more spaces free up.

Pretty much, at moment we have 24 registered drivers for this season.

When are we finding out who the steward is? :)

7pm tomorow.

Votes are counted automatically by my spreadsheet as I get the PM. 15 votes have been received.

Also as soon as Stewards are formed, a couple tech changes may be made.

Just under 7 hours 30 min until voting shuts.

In the mean time...

Pirtek Interview - Honda's Revenge?

Honda's decision to finally axe the Civic was a long time coming. Nimble but fragile, the car took two wins last season before Honda discontinued it. However, their decision to bring in the hybrid CRZ surprised many, with a strong development effort from BTCC Team Pirtek, and Paul Mac and Akmuq driving, perhaps Honda can finally get a TOCA title?
~Questions By Furinkazen.~

So Paul, after a season long absence your back with a fully fledged team, what bought you back into the TOCA fold?

Paul:Well I got bored of test driving since Furi doesn't really listen to his test driver...

Akmuq:I switched cars for the bant and changed my mind for some controversy, or something.

So why the Honda CRZ?

Paul:Why not? Dat Pirtek yo.

Akmuq:Because Paul.

Any particular tracks you look forward to?

Paul:Tracks? Your wheel "tracks" into the graveltraps . Also GP/D and Motegi East.

Akmuq:Yes.

You both will have to qualify your way into the first Motegi round, do you see this as a problem? Do you think pre-qualifying will shake things up?

Paul:Problem? Only if winning it is a problem.. It could if Furi is pushed out and unable to race.

Akmuq:No.

Thoughts on your team mate?

Paul:Who? Oh yeah him, faster than Furi and Irish.

Akmuq:I have some, yes.

Predictions for the season ahead?

Paul:Total and utter chaos.

Akmuq:Should get colder as we head into winter, maybe a bit of snow.

Any other business?

Paul:That's none of your business..

Akmuq:I'm selling fireworks, 20 euros.
