FITT Fall Battle 2.0 - Coastal Concept Challenge: Praiano wins!

I finally got my Infinity FX45 feeling a bit better. If there is still room I'll enter as a tuner. It is easily the slowest of the Clueless entries here but it still is fun trying to get a 600hp SUV to make it around Cape Ring. :dopey:

OK, update:

Added tunes for Cy and ACS, added Theo as a tuner, switched Johnny from tuner to tester, jumbled up the groups to be even again and took down macdog from testing. Sorry you can't make it but understandable, of course. Feel free to pop in some feedback if you have the time. Good luck to you in the new place.

I am myself going to be a little crazy next week. Today was the last day at my current job and I am jumping right into the new one on Monday. While I may not be on during the day I will certainly keep things updated at night after the girls are asleep. :)

Tomorrow is the deadline for tuning! Please make sure to post and share your tunes. Also make sure they are at or over 200 miles and tuners please add the testers to your PSN if you don't have them already. Testers may feel free to start any time now but keep in mind that tuners still have the option to tweak until the end of the day tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for making it this far. I hope to see some great tunes in this lot! :D

Car's on share, matte black Viper, posting tune…whenever I can be arsed to.
Hey Onboy if I put my car on share right now could you give a quick run? I think I've about got it but with the oil issue and my lousy driving I'm not sure.

Yea, go on. I'll test it very quickly. No guarantees on quick laps, but I'll drive it enough to get a feel for it.

Testers, Please Read:

Initially I was going to make this car a nice and safe ride. I was nearly ready to publish my previous tune however I thought to try and change the ballast position, to see what I would get. Amazingly, that helped tremendously in cornering however it made the car a whole lot harder to drive.

1) In low speed corners, Be very careful with the throttle and just nurse the car through. Low speed corners are the car's worst enemy, so be careful.

2) Car handles medium and high speed sections with ease. It might feel scary but just let the car do its thing.

3) There are I believe 3 corners which upset the car quite a lot. This is mostly due to "lift", but once you learn how to take them it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Just be aware that certain corners are trickier than others.

4) The transmission is set with such low gears on purpose. I tried many configurations however the current one is the fastest. Don't use 1st gear, 2nd gear should only be used for a few corners (I think 2 of them).

5) Final word of warning, The Jump doesn't like this car. Make sure the car is perfectly straight before committing. You'll get a hell of a surprise the first time you do the leap into the loop

1:35 ?

You put RedBull engine or what ?

I doubt that without going over the curb on 2 wheels on most corners  and that space ship braking + stability

Not a redbull engine, but I did steal the aero fan :dunce:

I did have a bit of curb action but nothing major. Most of the time it was accidental and more like, me sorta losing control ha. I did one corner incorrectly and that cost me a 34, bit mad about that. As always I can upload my lap. My car is far from stable. I gave up stability for speed.

Dude i was talking about 1 minute , it should be 2:35 not 1:35.

Very nice viper Onboy, it drive really good and easy. LSD is perfect, suspension too, perhaps a little too much balanced to be agressive but it's a wonderfull car.

Only one thing, the landing after the big jump, impossible to stay on the road even if you're perfectly straight. To much pressure on the rear springs.:scared:
I've found that jumping in the middle of the road is more stable.

Congrats.

Updated to here. Just missing 4 at this point. I know Onboy and Desperado have theirs on share. Doc? C-ZETA? Had any time?

For testers, if one or both of them haven't been able to work up a tune, I will be moving ACS and then Onboy to Group 2 to even them out. Just a heads up.

The Outlaw Motorsports Garage tunes
Audi Nuvolari Quattro '03 "Silberfeile"
DigitalBaka announced his second annual Fall Shootout, this one a celebration of the Concept cars. Ol'Harvey Wallbanger decided this would be a fine way to get busy tuning again after having taken a brief vacation from the world of autosports. A search of the garage for cars that would meet the regulations of the event and still fit his unusual style wasn't progressing very well until he found this gem. Now unless your a serious racing fan who is into history the name Nuvolari probably doesn't mean anything to you, but a quick search of the internet will at least give you some of basics. In a career tragically cut short by both World War II and failing health after the wars conclusion, the man won an astounding 61 Grand Prix races. So the challenge facing Ol'Harvey was to take a large sports sedan concept and make it a car that a man, who is named by many of motorsports most iconic figures as one of the greatest drivers to ever live, would enjoy driving. The car has plenty of power to start with so the Wallbanger focused his attention on the suspension and drivetrain in attempt to coax the best out of this large sedan. After running several laps of Cape Ring in the low to mid 2:41 range Ol'Harvey called it good and prepared to christen it. What you say? the car already has a name that of a racing legend! Yes but the Wallbanger decided to go one better and so this is the "Silberfeile". Huh you ask? Silberfeile is German for Silver Arrow and for those racing history buffs out there was the name given by the press and fans to the Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union cars that dominated racing and land speed records prior to WWII. So there you have it and here is what you need for your own "Silberfeile".

Notes: Despite hitting peak torque at very low rpms, the car has a very good power curve making it very good for driving with an automatic transmission.

Note 2: Novolari is considered by many as the first driver to utilize 4 wheel drifts in Grand Prix racing. Like him, the fastest way to get this car around several of Cape Ring's corners is to launch it into a 4 wheel drift then use its nearly 600HP and 4 wheel drive to pull it out as you reach the apex.

Enjoy the ride and as Harvey Wallbanger always says...
Drive hard and have fun!:cheers::gtpflag:

I might no be able to tests the cars soon, I got serious file corruption on my GT5 game data, PS3 shuts itself down when loading certain weather change tracks both offline and online. I deleted my game data - all my replays, photos, and videos are gone - 24GB :(. I tried to update since couple of hours ago from 1.00, always got an error installing 1.08, under XMB - game data says corrupt, and I have to download all over again :(, is it okay to press cancel after finishing installing 1.05 to prevent downloading from beginning ? I deleted all my saves and game data before updating from 1.00.

Looks like I can't get online on GT5 for awhile, not testing for now :(

Now my Battlefield Bad Company 2 got same issues, shuts down error. Checked my PS3 HDD with special app on my PC, no bad sector, SMART report : healthy. No heat issues on my PS3, streaming videos, played MSG4 for 6 hours non stop then some more GTA IV for 3 hours, no shut down :(

Too bad you can't make it, Ridox, it's a pity that your PS3 has been KIA. I hope the damage ain't too severe.

On another note, I need for ugabugaz and Dr Slump to FR me to test their cars.

Go doc.

And Praiano, don't show off, you've got a tune for every car here, you can make one in 30 seconds with a quick search and retune.
