Very nice Lou.

Cheers, I did a lot of laps round here in a recent seasonal and have always liked deep forest.
Im quite close to full power though, so I doubt I'll be able to improve much more (got about 2 or 3 more hp to gain i think).

Somehow I lost 2,perhaps 3 tenths in the last sector, must be the last tricky corner.

Did change the stock gearing to 250 km and bought a rigidity improvement.
However, I am not sure if buying the upgrade such a good idea was.:scared:

Thought I'd giver a shot w/ this :)

T1: 27.993
T2: 31.915

A little quicker using my "Joey Chitwood" style :)

Nice to see you back running laps again, do you not like the ring ?
Oh I like it well enough... I'm just not very good round it. :sly: Couple that with having to use my very tired old G25 wheel while my Clubsports are out of action, and I'd be even further off the pace track. (My G25 pedals don't work properly with my GT3 for some reason so I'm forced to do a wheel swap as well.)

Nice going so far Welsh Don, Baron and Louis. 👍

New load cell arrives tomorrow thankfully but I did manage to get in an hour on this with my G25. I haven't got enough feel for what going on to work out a decent setup so just gone for a generic fast FR style:

-40/-40
15.0/13.0
9/7
9/7
7/5
2.0/1.0
0.00/0.00

LSD 10/20/10

BB 2/4

Using the 6-speed close ratio gearbox

@350bhp so far

Did a couple of 26.7s in sector 1 and a 30.9 2nd sector but consistency is terrible so far. Hopefully it'll settle down when I get the Fanatec kit back online. Good fun so far though. :)

I'd already fitted the chassis mod to my car a while back so no idea what its like without it but it is working ok with it I think.

Going to get started on this tomorrow after I get done getting my new PS3 up and running. Downloading updates now. Internet is not the speediest, so its going to take awhile. :irked:

Little better times using Chris's tune!

Nice one Gayle. 👍

At full power now but just swapping sectors about without much gain...

30.927

Done a few 26.6xx 1st sectors now. Not quite sure what the limit is (for me) until I get the GT3 set up tomorrow.

Still not broken in yet and haven't found the setup, I keep having issues with the outside front tire locking up no matter the brake balance or abs setting.

Looks a good one to come back on, haven't touched Gran Turismo in a while now, so hopefully will get back up to speed. Looks as though alot more people have joined the WRS which is good to see 👍

Quick update:

27.503
31.417

Still not spent too much time on this thing, so expect me to improve in the fullness of time :)

Ay up James lad. What you been up to?

Duly expected. 👍 WRS will eat your free time like its cake.

This was our last outing at DFR. Might be of help to some in terms of racing line.

This should help me out a bit, there were a couple of areas that I wasn't quite sure where the best line was but this showed me some things to try. Thanks!👍

Question about track bounderies. Coming out of turn 1, the grey bricks that follow the red/white rumble strips, are those considered part of the track awell.

Nope, tarmac and rumbles only.

Nope, tarmac and rumbles only.

Why wouldn't they? They are in-line with the rumble strips and when they end going up the little hill, the track begins again perfectly in-line with the bricks. I'm not talking as in the pics posted earlier. These are on the right side of turn 1. It looks as tho the bricks were built on top of the track because when the bricks end, there is track right there. I'll include some photos later.

Why? Because those are the rules. Always check the Race Specifics section of the OP.

Race Specifics:

  • The event MUST be run using your GTP_Tag Account
  • The use of the clutch that is found on the G25, G27, and other high end racing wheels is strictly prohibited.
  • Tarmac and Red and White Rumbles are Track
  • Nothing Else is Track.
  • Concrete, Cobbles and other surfaces found outside of rumble strips are not part of the track.

Damn, no need to come at me like that. I'm not questioning the rules per say. I'm just saying that the bricks I'm talking about look like they were put over the track because when the bricks end, the track is right there in perfect alignment with the track. Its not like they are an inch or so over from the track. If you look at where I'm talking about where the bricks end, maybe you'll understand what I'm getting at. Anyways, pardon me for trying to get a better understanding of why track boundaries are what they are. Guess I'll just keep my lowly D4 mouth shut and just be seen and not heard.

I may have seemed curt because I wanted to answer your question in the quickest way possible and get back to work at hand, I didn't intend to be rude. But this is also the 2nd week in a row where you've asked what's legal track surface, when the answer is clearly there in the Race Specifics section. ;)

As to why the particular boundaries were chosen, this is a more complicated question than it might seem on the surface. In order to keep the OP as simple and straight-forward as possible, we may have to make decisions on boundaries that might not make sense at first. We can't be tasked with coming up with pictures for every corner on the track, to show legal/illegal areas, so we have to choose a boundary set that can easily apply to all areas of the track.

Other reasons may be that we allowed certain areas of track in the past, and they produced hard-to-verify replays. Any number of things.

Ok then, parden me for disturbing you with my questions then that may seem unimportant to you. I was always under the assumption that it was better to ask questions than to just assume things. I don't want to start anything here but I have seen lesser questions asked by more prominant drivers and there was no reply to the question like yours, which made me feel like you were treating me like some 5 year old who can't read the rules. I thought thats what you mods were here for to help us less experience members along and not make us feel like idiots.

Anyhow, like I said, I'll just keep my mouth shut from now on as to not bother anyone. Thanks for replying with a more detailed explanation. I understand the answer to my question alittle better now. No hard feelings Gravitron.

Chill out Mitch man. Its fair to say that the specifics in the event rules are pretty clear but there's no animosity meant by such a succinct response. Our trusty admins are a good bunch of (temperamental) guys. :sly: And it has nothing to do with what division you are in, believe me. Every member is as important as any other in the WRS. 👍

UPS didn't make it up to our wee dale today so no load cell, forcing me to run another session with the trusty boneshaker. Brings to mind Burt's quote in the classic Smokey and the Bandit.

"C'mon Trigger, don't let me down now."

OK I'm not being chased by County Mounties but the sentiment is the same.
