Maybe if some1 explain what is the cat and mouse event maybe i would rejoin!!

Teams are formed with a Cat (fast car) and Mouse (slow car).

if you are the Cat you can either help your own Mouse by pushing him to get to the finish line first OR you can wreck the other's team Mouse and slow them down as much as possible. Anything goes on this one.

Simple and very fun game. 👍

HELP WANTED: Seeking Wednesday night practice coordinator. :D

Zero,
I may be able to do this. Is this just posting the numbers before practice?

Yup, that's pretty much it Wolf. You would just need to coordinate with the hosts of the Blue Room and the Red Room and then have them PM you with the room #'s so that you can post them both together about 10 minutes before practice starts. Also, it'd be helpful if you can include a hyperlink to the previous Sunday's results so that the D3 guys know which room they're supposed to join (only the top 5 in D3 are supposed to go to the Blue Room in order to keep each room equally populated)

Please let me know if this is doable. :)

I guess it's best to post the room numbers as soon as they're up, but if the rooms are open for too long before the start of practice, it might fill up with non-SNAILs and then not have room for our own members. :ouch:

If you want to practice much earlier than 10pm Eastern, then I would recommend just hopping in the D1 lounge and posting on the thread that you're in there so that others will know they will have company in there.👍

That and the fact that 20 minutes in this thread could put the post back a few pages, then you will get lots of "what room are we practicing in?" questions.

Tonight's line up for EScarGOT

350 PP 1960-1980 FR Japanese Strees Cars (Sports Hard)
Cape Ring Inside, 9 Laps

430 PP 1990-2009 FR Street Cars (Sports Hard)
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, 6 laps

1123 kg+ 590 HP Any Japanese Car (Sports Soft)
Top Gear Test Track, TBD laps

Pretty varied and should make for some great racing. This is a standard car only event so dig through that pile and pick some cherries!

Buttkicker, buy one you won't be disapppointed. I have the 300 watt version and when I hit stuff it will feels like I hit stuff :) Some of the cars will actually make you feel like you're sitting in an idling race car 👍 And when racing running over the rumble strips vibrate the seat. You could even go one step further and have a left and right channel buttkicker so the rumbling comes from the correct side of the seat :) Even I think that's overkill

I'm very interested in one of these but 1. I don't want to break the bank buying one and 2. I don't know where to start in choosing which one to get. I also need to figure out what all comes with it and what else I will need. Any more info?

I have four of these, one of which is under one corner of my driving seat. Two of them shake the couch and the fourth will shake my other seat if I ever get it back

It's very convenient, the wireless sender is close to your Amp/PS3 and takes an LFE (Bass) or standard L/R inputs. The Transducer sits under the chair and is wired to the Buttkicker Amp. There's more than enough power with the 300 Watts to make you feel like you're sitting in a race car. I had mine turned up a little too much the other day, when I got out of the chair, you could see it moving. I turned it down :) This kit comes with five rubber isolators, invaluable for allowing the chair to shake. Everything you need to connect to your amp or PS3 is in this kit.

You can also use this one. This is a wired gamer version, so things need to be a little closer together, Amp/PS3, chair. The Buttkicker amp will take the same LFE(Bass) or standard L/R inputs. This one has 130 Watts of power. Won't be quite as dramatic an effect as the 300 Watt version, but will definitely give you a similar feel. This kit does not have rubber isolators, but you can buy them as a kit. They do make a difference in the shakeability of the chair. Everything you need to connect to your amp or PS3 is in this kit.

Both Buttkickers are dependent on the Input signal strength, the 'louder' the input the less volume you have to use on the Buttkicker Amp. The 'quieter' the input the more volume you have to use on the Buttkicker Amp to get the same effect. Really has to do with how hard you need to drive the amp for a good shake effect. The louder the Buttkicker volume, the hotter the amp gets, to the point a friend of mine has had his cut out.

Hope this helps.

There are other transducer options, I chose the Buttkicker as it was a complete package and easy to set up. Have a browse through GTPlanet's Hardware section, you may find some other ideas there 👍

I love the idea of these but I live in a duplex and would be worried that it would annoy the neighbors. I know they do not produce sound but are the vibrations noticeable beyond just the chair/seat they are attached to?

It can, my wife hasn't said much about it, the transducer is in the basement on cement. But a buddy has had complaints from his significant other. Same set up though, basement cement.

The buttkicker is also really cool for watching action movies with too. Feeling, hearing and seeing explosions is cool :)

Wow look very funny so its a teamwork

I'd say the buttkicker could be tuned down later at night to prevent neighbors from complaining. Besides low frequencies are supposed to be in detectable by direction. ;) blame the kid down the street with subs. Hahaha

Honestly the stereo idea is on my list. I plan to do a left and right using some smaller shakers (have them already) then run my gamer on the LFE and keep it under my seat. Hoping this gives the effect I imagine. Hold is the older Sony I snagged fromm cousin doesn't want to work right on its outputs. My Denon will be replaced this year with a model having AirPlay. Then I will use my old one to complete this tactile package. :)

Basically I need multi out. Using the optical to run my headset then still fire the tactiles using the stereo. Low pass is signal only and fed from the BK amp. In theory it should work.

Hello,

Wolfsatz told me I cound get plenty of practice and friendly racing here and so I'd like to join the League.

Looking forward to having a good time with you guys!

Hi CarBastard,
Wolfsatz speaks the truth! (and in two languages ;)). Here's what you need to know and do in order to get set up for Sunday night:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You run the Time Trial. (NOTE: The tires used for this have more grip than our current tire regulations call for, but please follow the Time Trial directions exactly anyways).
2. You PM me with your time from the time trial (no Sunday racing until this is completed).
3. I assign you to the appropriate Division, to give you the best racing possible.
4. I send you a you a PSN friend request from the appropriate SNAIL_Division1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 account. That is where you race on Sunday night.
6. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

Please note that we often race DLC from three add-on packs:

Racing Car Pack
Course Pack
Twin Ring Motegi Pack

If you don't have these add-on packs, you will need to sit out the races in which they are used.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, post your choices in this thread.
To avoid duplication, the currently claimed combinations can be found here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.

Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

Watching South Park, BP summons the Cthulhu, and for some reason my first thought was "That looks nothing like a goat"

Hey all you S.N.A.I.L.s,

Wolsatz and I are looking to gauge interest in an upcoming event we are going to host. If what you see below is something you might like to join in on please let us know.

I will probably be doing a test run of the format tonight although it might start a bit later than 9. We would love to see some of you guys there.

Welcome to Wolfsatz and Jobyone's

Trackday and Cruise Night

The theme for the night will be Italian Cars

The inaugural event will be held Friday January 18th
This will be a late night event on Fridays in an open lobby.

All times are Pacific Standard Time
9:00 - 9:10 pm
Intro

9:10 - 9:40 pm
SPEC Time Attack: Fiat Punto Abarth @ Cote d'Azur on Sports Hard Tires

9:40 - 10:30 pm
Open Track day @ Cote d'Azur with Tuning allowed

10:30 - ?? pm
Open Cruise on a custom Toscana track with a mix of fast and slow sections

The Details

The Night in General
There may be a nightly theme for the event but it will not be a hard rule. So we may say the theme is Italian cars. But if you show up in a German car you will not be asked to change it.

SPEC Time Attack
The idea of the event is to have fun but there will be prizes for the fastest laps. The car that can be used for the Time Attack will be chosen before hand and will be the only type of car allowed on the track during this session. The person with the fastest lap (from each division) will get his/her choice of a paint chip (Matte or Chrome) or a car (under $1mil). Winners will be decided based on current S.N.A.I.L. division of the driver. Non S.N.A.I.L.s will be eligible for prizes but they will need to provide a lap time from the S.N.A.I.L. Time Trial to Jobyone prior to the event. At the end of each month all the winners will be registered for a drawing. The random winner will receive a $10 PSN card.

Open Trackday
Run whatever you like as long as it is based on a Streetcar or Tuner car (No RM, Concepts or Race Cars). This is not a race so give way to faster drivers and maintain space between other drivers. If you know the other driver and you two are happy to run together feel free to do so. But keep it clean and you should ensure that your actions do not effect the other drivers on the track.

Open Cruise
This is intended to be a bit more chilled. You can run any streetcar you would like. Traffic will be using both directions so the rules are fairly straight forward. Keep right except to pass. No contact. These courses will all be around 5 miles and generated before each event. Some will be tight and twisty, some more wide open and others will be a combination. The general type of track will be listed before the event.

The fine print
We expect all drivers to follow our OLR Rules and pursue good racecraft at all times.

Paint chips available for prize winners:

Matte:
Light Blue, Blue, Dark Blue
Light Green, Green, Dark Green
Yellow, Orange, Marrone Apus, Brown,
Light Red, Red, Dark Red
Pink, Purple
Light Silver, Silver, Dark Silver
White, Bianco Canopus, Light Grey, Grey, Dark Grey, AMG Monza grau magno
Matt Black (from LFA), Matte Black, Nero Nemesis

Chrome:
Gold, Silver
