T8CA OFFICIAL SEASON PREVIEW:
PART 2: The Dunlop Independants Trophy
RPM-YERA Motorsports - Volkswagen
Defending TOCA Independents champion Yeratel returns to defend his crown in what is essentially a 3rd works Volkswagen entry. Yeratel has been right on the pace in testing and starts a favorite to retain his crown.
VenoMMotorsports - Infiniti
VenoMMotorsports team are a shadow of there old title-winning selves. A lot of doubt is in the paddock if they are even going to compete this season - if they do they should be on the pace at the very least with ex-champion DaxCobra once again at the wheel.
Invicta Junior Team - Peugeot
The third car of the IRT operation, Invicta Junior Team retain the services of Scanny Flick for another season. However they will be the only Peugeot present at Cape Ring - which may prove to be a disadvantage at the season start.
RedPartyHat - Mazda
Mazda's sole T8CA entry is driven by long time NASCAR racer RedPartyHat. A lack of road course experience could be his undoing early on in the season.
Booyaka - ???
Booyaka registered and entry but nothing has been heard from the team. There Cape Ring participation is somewhat doubtful.
Scaniabebe - Honda
A new driver to TOCA, Scaniabebe surfaced at a few test sessions late on in the season and didn't disgrace himself - the Honda has never looked a better base package and that may help him qualify for a few events.
RPM-LoutSpeedRacing - Infiniti
RPM support Lout's TOCA campaign with an used ex-works team Infiniti. Lout was showing flashes of speed and a potential challenger end of last season, but qualifying is perhaps his real obstacle ahead of this season.#
Michelin Racing - Honda
Michelin's TOCA7 season was somewhat hit by budget issues, a move to Honda however bought a smile on the pit wall from a few of the Brazilian mechanics as the car looks very quick. Top 10 material at the least. One to watch for sure.
DarkHorse Sports - Ford
Rolex sportscar racer GTPanoz sets up a Ford Focus for the new season of TOCA, under the DarkHorse Sports banner.
East Coast Motorsports - Peugeot
East Coast Motorsports will debut with the other Peugeot's of IRT at Monza for Round 2. As ever, LancerEvo7 will be driving the car.
Hurleyman - Infiniti
A TOCA debutant who looked competent in testing, but a late switch from BMW to Infiniti may hurt Hurleyman a little in lost track time.
Brandofo - BMW
Entered for TOCA3 but never appeared due to to budget issues - Brandofo finally attempts to get on the grid with a privately entered BMW.
PolarBear - Audi
PolarBear had a somewhat unconvincing debut season in the Growl Group Mini - a move to the Audi however has seen him setting very strong practise pace. It is not known if the team is going to run the full season.
DK Motorsport - Ford
Dano debut's with a Ford Focus. However he has been a little far from the pace in testing, and an accident at Monza didn't help with his testing either.
SunshineRacing.co.uk - Honda
A return for the first time in five seasons for CoolKiwi, who plans to run the final two events of this season.
