you are a sucker! go ahead and give them your $60

Seriously, right to the ad hominem? You can't even argue the points? Further, I never said whether or not I was buying the game anyway.

WTF? are you serious? get a grip. this is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. there are millions of other things to do in this world besides watch GT scroll on your monitor. Dude, seriously. listen to music, visit your family, give to a charity, pet a cat...

Same question to you, are you serious? Have you never heard the adage, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"?

AND AGAIN, NO MORE STANDARD CARS, PLEASE

At some point in GT5 development, PD faced a choice: They could have GT5 with 300 (or whatever it is) premium cars, and nothing else, OR they could include the thousand or so cars they had modeled for previous titles, but since they were modeled for older games/systems, they had far fewer polygons, and wouldn't look as nice. So if you want to play what GT5 would have been without standards, you already have that. Just don't drive the standards.

You seem not to understand how much time goes into each premium model. I'm sure they would have preferred to ship with 1000 premium cars (hell, they probably would have preferred 10,000, if they could snap their fingers and make the models appear), but they didn't have the artist time to do it.

so GT6 is essentially a fancy DLC pack. oh wow!

Yep, a fancy DLC pack that includes a new physics engine, new aero model, new tire model and new suspension model. You also get over 100 new cars, seven new tracks, and a bunch of aero parts and wheels. A new (and hopefully improved) course maker, an online event creator and the ability of the user to manage it. We also get whatever they are holding back to announce at E3 and gamescon.

Yep, that sounds like a DLC pack to me.

And I will too because I know this GT5 was a step to perfection and I will support all what kaZ doing. Whitout him we will suffering of the racing games on the market.

At the least think about the difference from gt3 to gt4. I'm not expecting the 5/6 gap to be that big, but the refinement should be as great.

Seems speed channels day is done. Fox? Ehh. So long any chance of seeing something worth while on tv anymore.

On a different note. I'm down for touge, some day... Just started my new job and have started to pack for the move coming up. So I'm indisposed for the next few weeks at least.

Just to add on the topic of GT6 if looks gorgeous and good thing it's on the PS3, no need for me to buy a PS4 :D
but just one thing PD....GET THE SOUNDS RIGHT FOR 🤬 SAKE THIS TIME !!!

/rage mode off

I think that it is a very smart idea to release Gran Turismo 6 right around the holidays for the Playstation 3 because the Playstation 4 will just be coming out and not everyone will be able to afford the price tag that will be attached to the Playstation 4. Gran turismo always been a high system seller, very smart business idea to be releasing the 6th edition of gran turismo on playstation 3.

Will the PS4 run PS3 games as well?

I have heard that it is not backwards compatible. Which would really suck because I will get a PS4 shortly after it comes out but will be very disappointed if GT6 doesn't play on it. Unless they sell a PS4 version of GT6...which will be nice.

Spoiler ALERT! - RANT!

So I have been racing in SNAIL since December, I have had alot of fun racing here. I really appreciate the time the leaders put into running this league, I know its alot of time and headache. That being said I have had some issues. Last week I took the week to cool off and just think about things. Here is what I have come up with.

1. 2 Weeks ago was the first time I filed a racing complaint. It was also the first time one supposedly was filed against me (different driver). I PM'd the driver I had issues with, and received no response. So I decided that it was best to file a complaint with no explanation from the driver what happened. In the interim I had a racer PM me about an incident involving me. I notified him back that I may be completely at fault, but also possibly not. I told him I understood if he filed a complaint to have the issue reviewed. Then I filed my complaint on a different driver, which was @ 7:23 Monday night. I had PM'd the driver before, but I thought the deadline was 7:30pm PST. Anyways the thread had a post said if someone in D5 filed a complaint to file it correctly. I had forwarded the PM I sent to the driver saying I received no response. I re-filed it correctly to the T to make sure it was done. I never received any PM from the one being filed on me by a different driver. I was penalized 1 point, still no explanation of that, then not response on my racing complaint.

2. I have won 3 Prize C rewards. I have posted my requests for those several times and never received anything. I am not sure if there is something else I need to do.

3. Several people have requested to add the PP to normal line up on the main page. Im not sure why this is never done. It is very helpful. By not posting it is almost not telling someone the rules so you have a better chance at winning. I mean the pictures and track maps are posted but not a simple number to make sure your car is ready and up to spec. Along with that is why are the lineups not posted with enough time to break-in the cars before practice. Its 3:30PM PST Wednesday and still cars posted on the lineup. I know they are in the thread, but unless you are on all the time it takes a bit of time to find the selections. Ideally I would say your selection should be made public by 6:30PM PST Tuesday or your selection is forfeited. It seems to be alot of weeks that the selection is made hours before practice starts.

All in all it seems like if you are not in the cool kids club you, your results, and your posts are ignored. No response to this will further cement this thinking.

I can't comment on the first ones but on the last one...

I agree. It would be nice to see a PP figure of a fresh broken in car.

It would also be nice to have all new picks posted at least a full day ahead of practice. If it is going to take so long to review complaints, confirm prize winners, make their selections and THEN post them...then why not move the official practice day to Friday or something like that?

This would ease up the pressure of getting it all done in only two days.

I can comment on the first one. The rules are there for everyone to read. Follow the proper procedure for filing a complaint. That is to PM the steward and the offending driver at the SAME TIME in the SAME MESSAGE. When this is done, the issue is forwarded to the stewards and the group looks at the issue. If you want an explanation of why you received a penalty or why your complaint didn't result in a penalty for someone else, PM your division steward and they will get you an overview of what the stewards saw and how they ruled.

This is not difficult, it's just requires a little reading. All the info is in the first post or at least linked from the first post. Zer05ive posts the link with the complaint procedure every week.

This isn't directed at you in particular, SoCalRacer, what I have stated above applies to everyone here. There is a right way and a wrong way to do things. The right way is spelled out for everyone to see. Do things the right way and you will get better results.

As for the Prize C issue. One line posts can get buried and missed rather quickly around here. I would suggest making the post a little bigger. Start with a top line that says Prize C Selection and use bold print in a bright color and use the words attention Zer05ive or something to that effect.

I agree that having the broken in PP of a car would be helpful.

Or you could let the previous weeks winners pick the new combos.

Pros - Picks could be made as soon as the votes for which combos to loose are made. No need to wait for complaints
Cons - Must wait till votes for which combos to loose are made.

I thought that was a good idea when I suggested it months ago. It was not met with widespread approval.

I don't usually follow the race complaint process closely. We have a very capable group looking after it and doesn't often need my input. I will look into what it will take to close the loop on communications for complaints. This does seem to be an area we've had issue with in the past.

2. I have won 3 Prize C rewards. I have posted my requests for those several times and never received anything. I am not sure if there is something else I need to do.

This should not have happened and am sorry it did. Again, I'll follow up to make sure your Prize C's are sent.

If you scroll to the far right, this page of the Scoring Spreadsheet has all the Premium cars listed with their Dealership PP and HP. The cars we've raced also have their broken in PP and HP listed. I try to get the broken in numbers in as soon as I can, but don't always have time to break my cars in before Thursday or Friday. I'll ask again, if someone wants to pm me or post the broken in PP and HP of any of the cars missing those values, please do. I'll update as soon as possible.

As far as I know for getting your car to max pp all you need to do is drive it roughly 200 miles and do an oil change. That's all I do to prep my cars. I don't have any secrets, hidden agendas or rules to keep from anyone.

All in all it seems like if you are not in the cool kids club you, your results, and your posts are ignored. No response to this will further cement this thinking.

I'm hoping this is just your frustration speaking, because as far as I know, there is no cool kids club. We try very hard to treat everyone with the same set of rules and guidelines. Occasionally, things will slip through the cracks and it seems you've had your share, my apologies.

Get a grip? Project much?

I read on here about a guy that was in a car wreck and paralyzed. He couldn't play the game but was able to enjoy it through B spec.

That one person changed my outlook. That's all it takes is one person in that scenario IMO to validate it and change my outlook.

Respectfully I say this:

Man you are on a bad attitude today. I ignored your snide comment about D1 guys can't drive Race cars with racing tires. Which is comical. It takes less finesse and skill to do so. However for some reason you really had that delusional thought. Now your running me down over a compassion for others handicaps.

Come on fella. Cheer up. If you're that bitter. Wait to post when you are not. It truly is speaking badly of your persona here.

PP FOR LINEUP.

I'll add PP to the pictures I do for the line up next week! Great idea

I, for one, appreciate they are releasing GT6 on the PS3. I won't be buying the PS4 until it's offered in gen 2 spec anyway. The only thing I've bought in it's first generation offered is my motorcycle, but, they'd already offered the model in Europe, and maybe Japan, for a couple of years before they sent it to the US at the end of its first gen production run.

There is a reason it's called "Bleeding Edge". It really is bleeding. It really makes a mess of the carpet. ;)

I'll certainly be buying GT6 when it comes out. The only reason I wouldn't is if I hear confirmation that it won't support my current controller.

Oh, and Owens, my Bspec driver named J. Owens is currently in 1st place for the break in race I've got the crew doing. I may have to do a little coaching on this one though. The 'vettes and the camaro are hot on his a$$.

Easy fix; stewards to acknowledge the PM by sending one back to all involved. That way, it won't be a complete surprise for someone should they see their name on the penalty list post.

What a heck happened tothe search feature on the thread? I don't have it! :ill:

ATTENTION RED ROOM HOST NEEDED TONIGHT

Anyone capable with good internet conection able to host the Red Room tonight? Please pm me. 👍

I will be hosting the Blue Room.

Easier fix: Drivers should do it right the first time.

I agree. However, having been on the wrong end of this before, it is possible for the process to be followed correctly (so I got told) yet the person involved somehow doesn't get the PM even if there is space in their inbox for messages.

That is to PM the steward and the offending driver at the SAME TIME in the SAME MESSAGE.

Not sure if you got what I was saying. Here is a better layout

Incident 1
1. Sent Racer1 PM regarding racing issue
2. Fowarded PM to you regarding issue that I contacted him saying I will filling a compalint.
3. Found I filed incorrectly
4. Filed and 2nd complaint (same issue) again with PM to Racer1 and you
5. Received response from Racer1 saying he was completely at fault
6. No response since on this issue

Incident 2
1. Racer2 PM'd me
2. PM'd back initial thinking on the race
3. Reviewed race Monday
4. PM'd Racer2 that this may have been my fault and I understood a complaint may be launched.
5. Received response from Racer2 stating possible complaint being launched.
6. No official racing complaint PM from racer2 with info.

In incident 1 I may not have followed properly, but in the end I provided the info needed. In incident 2 protocol was not followed at all and I was completely unaware of a complaint was actually filed.

All,
On a side note thanks for the good responses and not flames.

On a side note of this racing complaint talk.

From what I understand the complaints are dealt with privately by the stewards.

Is it not possible to show the incidents with replays filed each week and the decision of the stewards. This would help show what is good racecraft and not good racecraft. Maybe this isnt appropriate for the main thread, but a separate thread or atleast links to replays with conclusions on them would be nice.

Racecraft = Respect other drivers position. Clear and simple!
