Thanks to asdfg11 for the countdown timer!

General Info About Races: Our goal is to provide a racing simulation experience for everyone. Real off-road grip, weak slipstream and tire wear on. ABS is optional.

The races are usually long enough to require at least one pit for tires and/or gas depending on the car. We also enjoy racing real life cars, and offer a wide range of racing experiences, from VW Buses to F1's, some tuned, some untuned, you name it. Feel free to check out the Facebook page ( http://tinyurl.com/GT5-LPP ) to post race suggestions and say hello!

Tuning Prohibited lounge
(Chassis maintenance, engine rebuild etc are allowed as long as you can get on track)
Racing medium tires maximum
(Should be around 978 performance points)

You must pit at least once before the race timer reaches 55 minutes

  • Standard race quality
  • Standard microphone quality
  • Collisions on
  • Light damage
  • No penalties
  • Weak slipstream
  • Tire wear/Fuel consumption on "Normal"
  • Real grip reduction on wet/edge
  • Visual damage on
  • Grid Order fastest first
  • Start Type rolling
  • ABS available
  • All other assists off
Qualifying & Start:
  • Qualifying begins promptly at 9:00 PM Eastern (refer to the countdown timer above if you're not on the east coast) and will last 15 to 30 minutes.
  • Qualifying will have collisions off.
  • When you have a time you like, pull over to a secluded spot or drive into the pits. If you exit the track, you will forfeit your qualifying time!
  • Once the track is reset to race settings, everyone will line up on the track in the order typed out, I'll hit "Start Race" and the race timer will count down.
  • We will be using GT5's single-file rolling start system.
  • There is no pace lap. Once the countdown timer finishes the RACE IS ON.
  • Please note that due to connection issues and other randomness, the server might spit you into the wrong position at the start. Thank you for your understanding.
Cautions:
  • Due to the nature of this race, there may be cautions issued throughout the the race if everyone is too spread out.
  • A caution will be issued when a race official types out "caution." It MUST be typed. Hearing people say "caution" through your speakers/microphone is not enough.
  • Once the race leader is 10 laps from ending the race, no more cautions will be issued. For example, the leader crosses the start/finish line and is on lap 120 out of 130 total, no more cautions.
  • No passing is allowed when a caution is issued.
  • All drivers (not in the pits) will form-up for a Manual Rolling Start behind the current race leader, who will maintain a pace speed of his/her choosing, until everyone is in formation again, and give the green light by flooring the accelerator.
Prizes:
  • First place (Level 24 car ticket, 5 car paints)
  • Second place (5 car paints)
Other Notes: The GTPlanet Online Racing Rules & Guidelines applies with some changes/additions.
  1. Bump drafting is allowed where it makes sense.
  2. Keep racing on the track, regardless of incident, unless cars behind you are approaching. Time, depending on severity of incident, will be added to your final race time once complaints are filed and replays checked. If you decide to allow the other driver(s) to pass because of a collision, be absolutely sure that you will not be in the way of other drivers. When in doubt, keep racing.
  3. Drivers that are to be lapped are under no obligations to move out of the way, as long as they are not intentionally blocking. Most tracks have many sections to overtake. If you're faster, you'll find a way to pass.
  4. There will be no race restarts for people that disconnect, unless something extreme happens like half the room disconnects at the same time. Common sense will dictate what's appropriate. People that disconnect will still earn points (where applicable) depending on when they disconnected.
  5. Anyone found violating the car regulations will be harshly penalized, i.e. dropped into last place in the race results. "I didn't know" is not a valid reason.
  6. Track boundaries are generally the same as those enforced by the GT5 penalty system and as defined by section 16: Offline Racing in the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules linked above. See the illustration below. Occasional unintended infractions will be tolerated, particularly if you visibly attempt to correct a bad line by braking, etc. or you have lost control of your vehicle. Patterns of abuse will not be tolerated, and complaints will be investigated as noted in #2 above.

You can get the X2010 by completing the level 30 A-Spec Sebastian Vettel Challenge or getting to level 35 B-Spec.

Depending on your control of this car, going 2 wide or trying to pass people around the corners will be frowned upon.

If you are unable to at least run a few clean laps off Daytona in the X2010, you probably won't enjoy this race . . .

Me too lol

Fairly easy break-in with the B-Spec Indy 500.

My car is at 1557 horsepower, 553 ft-lb torque, 978 performance points.

Race will probably be something like 130 laps.

I just ran some laps to feel it out, may be a good idea to setup a sort of drafting practice before the race on Friday or Saturday just so the race is cleaner and people are used to running close to each other in these cars?

Can probably do that some on Friday during the usual 8PM racing if the right people are there.

8PM Eastern, 5PM Pacific. Public lounge.

Race will be a regular single-file rolling start, not the double-file originally posted.

The game doesn't seem to properly put people in two lines for these cars lol

Race will be 125 laps, so no more cautions once leader is on lap 115.
