Track: Superspeedway-Indy
Car: Honda CR-Z a ‘10
Gold-1st Silver-3rd Bronze-9th

Tip: Once again, timing your pass on the draft car is huge. Stay on the inside during the turns (if possible) and jump behind the next car you want to draft as soon as you can. Be careful going into the 3rd turn as the AI cars will either tap their brakes on entry or slide up the track towards the wall on exit.

Gold-1st Silver-3rd Bronze-7th
Reward: XP
Tip: Pass the first 2 cars on the outside on the first straightaway. Cut to the inside of the next 2 cars on turn 1 while catching the draft of the next car in line. Most of the positions gained are on turn 2 by heavy trail-braking and diving to the inside. Careful of the GTO, this AI car likes to cut off your line. Swing to the inside across the bridge and then to the outside on turn 3. You should have the lead by turn 4.

Race #1
Track: Tokyo R246
Number of Laps: 5
Prizes: 1st = 488,000 2nd = 195,200 3rd = 195,200 4th = 146,400 5th = 122,000 6th = 97,600
Attempt 1
Lead car = Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ‘88
Winning car = Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ‘88
Average Race Time for AI Car = 7:45.000
Average lap time needed to win = 1:33.000
Tip: Since Tokyo is a very tight track, being smooth and avoiding contact with the barriers are key. If you are patient with the throttle, especially on the long sweeping turns, and hit your brake points gliding through the tighter turns; that will aid in faster lap times.

Race #2
Attempt 1
Track: Cape Ring
Number of Laps: 3
Prizes: 1st = 481,000 2nd = 265,550 3rd = 192,400 4th = 144,300 5th = 120,250 6th = 96,200
Attempt 1
Lead car = Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ‘88
Winning car = Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ‘88
Average Race Time for AI Car = 7:21.000
Average lap time needed to win = 2:27.000
Tip: This track is tough to master, especially in a high powered race car, with all of its variety of turns. Just be mindful of your throttle input when on the banked turns. Without a proper setup you might find that the back end of your car has a mind of its own and become snappy loose.

Race #3
Attempt 1
Track: Circuit De La Sarthe 2009
Number of Laps: 2
Prizes: 1st = 485,000 2nd = 266,750 3rd = 194,000 4th = 145,500 5th = 121,250 6th = 97,000
Attempt 1
Lead car = Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ‘88
Winning car = Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ‘88
Average Race Time for AI Car = 7:16.000
Average lap time needed to win = 3:38.000
Tip: There are shortcut penalties that come with this race. If you know the track well you can get aggressive with hitting the apexes, otherwise stay towards the center of the track at all times. It’s not worth getting the penalty for trying to cut just that little extra off of a turn, plus it gives you more room for error. The last thing you want to do in a high powered race car is get one of the rear tires off in the grass when you are trying to accelerate.

Race #4
Attempt 1
Track: Nurburgring Nordschleife
Number of Laps: 1
Prizes: 1st = 480,000 2nd = 264,000 3rd = 192,000 4th = 144,000 5th = 120,000 6th = 96,000
Attempt 1
Lead car = Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ‘88
Winning car = Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ‘88
Average Race Time for AI Car = 6:18.000
Average lap time needed to win = 6:18.000
Tip: You know PD couldn’t do a seasonal of high powered cars without throwing this famous track in the mix. Once again, just be mindful of how close you are to the edges of the track. The more comfortable you are with your car and your knowledge of the track, the more aggressive you can be. Avoid any sort of contact with the AI cars; chances are you will be the one sent into the grass or kitty litter.

Race #5
Attempt 1
Track: Eifel Circuit 306A
Number of Laps: 5
Prizes: 1st = 490,000 2nd = 269,500 3rd = 196,000 4th = 147,000 5th = 122,500 6th = 98,000
Attempt 1
Lead car = Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ‘88
Winning car = Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ‘88
Average Race Time for AI Car = 7:10.000
Average lap time needed to win = 1:26.000
Tip: This track was a nice surprise. I don’t have a huge amount of knowledge on this track, but had a blast trying to learn. Just like Cape Ring, it specializes in a variety of corners which will test any setup you throw at it. I’m glad that I use the Chase Camera View; it helped a lot on some of those blind hill turns.

I used a new Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ’88 @ 700PP, without any changes to the setup, for my first attempt. This car is very quick running up through the gears and can get squirrely on slicker tracks. Its closing speed on the AI cars was insane. Even though the computer XJR-9 can match your straightaway speed, it struggles (only slightly) on the turns. I plan on going back through using a few tuners setups which I will post upon completion.

Race #1
Track: Autumn Ring Mini
Number of Laps: 7
Top Speed: 96mph (See tune)
Prizes: 1st = 378,000 2nd = 230,580 3rd = 204,120 4th = 185,220 5th = 181,440 6th = 177,660
Fastest AI Car: Honda Integra Type R (DC5) ‘04
Average Race Time for AI Car = 5:10.000
Average lap time needed to win = 0:44.280

Tip: It’s a good thing that this race doesn’t come with a shortcut or contact penalty. Use this to your advantage by mowing the lawn on certain chicanes and “lean” on your opponents when passing on the inside of those tight turns.

Race #2
Track: Grand Valley East Section
Number of Laps: 4
Top Speed: 145mph
Prizes: 1st = 372,000 2nd = 223,200 3rd = 200,880 4th = 182,280 5th = 178,560 6th = 174,840
Fastest AI Car: Honda Integra Type R (DC5) ‘04
Average Race Time for AI Car = 5:09.000
Average lap time needed to win = 1:17.250

Tip: On the last turn coming up to the long straight, be sure to arc the car as wide as you can to get as much speed on the straight as possible while drafting when possible. It just might come down to a drag race between you and the leader coming to the checkered flag.

Race #3
Track: Cape Ring South
Number of Laps: 3
Top Speed: 133mph
Prizes: 1st = 375,000 2nd = 228,750 3rd = 202,500 4th = 183,750 5th = 180,000 6th = 176,250
Fastest AI Car: Honda Integra Type R (DC5) ‘04
Average Race Time for AI Car = 4:37.000
Average lap time needed to win = 1:32.300

Tip: Since I don’t race on this track configuration often, the last hairpin turn always seemed to sneak up on me. Try not to swing too wide on the 3 hairpin turns and have a nice steady line through the chicanes.

Race #4
Track: Deep Forest Raceway
Number of Laps: 3
Top Speed: 139mph (allows for drafting)
Prizes: 1st = 370,000 2nd = 225,700 3rd = 199,800 4th = 181,300 5th = 177,600 6th = 173,900
Fastest AI Car: Honda Integra Type R (DC5) ‘03
Average Race Time for AI Car = 4:41.500
Average lap time needed to win = 1:33.800

Tip: The most time gained on this track is running B to the W (Saturday night racers know what I’m saying) through the last 3 turns. Doing this correctly will give you a ton of closing speed on the AI cars. Be sure to time the passes, especially on the last turn before the finish line.

Race #5
Track: Toscana (Tarmac) 307A
Number of Laps: 3
Top Speed: 145mph
Prizes: 1st = 380,000 2nd = 231,800 3rd = 205,200 4th = 186,200 5th = 182,400 6th = 178,600
Fastest AI Car: Honda Integra Type R (DC5) ‘04
Average Race Time for AI Car = 5:19.500
Average lap time needed to win = 1:46.500

Tip: I’m happy that PD chose this race. Another track that I don’t race on too often. It’s a slicker track with a nice variety of turns…and not to forget 2 jumps. With the first “jump”; the closer you are to the inside of the turn, the more severe the launch is and landing become. On the second “jump”; try to get your car pointing in a straight line. I aim the car between the trees making sure the tires are straight. Although if you don’t, it can make for an amazing highlight reel or picture shot.

I’m very impressed with this series of races. Yes, chasing the rabbit can get boring, especially when they cheat this bad, but these are the kind of races that really test your patience and driving skills. Autumn Ring is a classic case where the racer needs to be on it every lap and run consistent lap times. If you are struggling, restart the races until you get any other car besides the Honda's or Focus ST starting towards the front. The Megane's are always fun to pick on. I used a Honda Integra Type R (DC5) ’04: tune listed below.

For the 1st race I used setup B with only a top speed of 96mph. Although this specific tune wasn't created for this transmission, it does work, but makes the car a little more tight on exit. I used setup E for races 2-5 only adjusting for top speed.

Tip:

For this being an “Expert” challenge, it seemed pretty straight forward. With this challenge being 500 performance points, I’m sure everyone has a decent FR car in their garage itching to get a chance to hit the track. If not, there are hundreds of excellent tunes on GTPlanet to choose from. The Shelby can be a bit difficult to catch, but with patience and steady driving, you should be able to win with ease. I chose an Aston Martin V12 Vantage ’10 500pp tune provided by jtqmopar, and even though it was edgy for me, I was able to dominate the races and pick up the easy money. I’ll be posting a link to jtqmopar’s tune shortly, and my tune is listed below.

This tune was done for the 500pp FR Seasonal Challenge. I'm 90% happy with how this tune turned out. It's still a little on the snug side, especially on center. The only part I'm not happy with is the outisde front tire loves to turn red under braking. Most of which can be solved with a stiffer suspension, but I didn't want to go too crazy, so I stuck on the Rigidity Improvement to help with that a little.

530PP 4WD Challenge
Performance Points: 530PP
Tires: Sports/Hard
Difficulty: Expert
Reward: Gift Car Ticket Lv.12 Class
Other Notes: 4WD Cars only

Race #1
Track: Nurburgring GP/D
Number of Laps: 5
Top Speed: 158mph
Prizes: 1st = 288,000 2nd = 158,400 3rd = 115,200 4th = 86,400 5th = 72,000 6th = 57,600
Fastest AI Car: Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec C Type '04
Average Race Time for AI Car = 8:27.000
Average lap time needed to win = 1:41.400

Tip: There are a few "shorcuts" that can be taken with this track. I don't like to use them, but I can see potential on this track to use cars with a lower pp value to bring in some big money.

Race #2
Track: Fuji Speedway F
Number of Laps: 5
Top Speed: 177mph (allows for drafting up through 1st chicane)
Prizes: 1st = 290,000 2nd = 159,500 3rd = 116,000 4th = 87,000 5th = 72,500 6th = 58,000
Fastest AI Car: Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec C Type '04
Average Race Time for AI Car = 9:31.900
Average lap time needed to win = 1:54.300

Tip: Yet again another track with a small shortcut. Be wary of the AI cars on the long sweeping turn #3 as they like to cut from outside/inside/outside and can really mess with your racing line.

Race #3
Track: Madrid City Course
Number of Laps: 5
Top Speed: 158mph
Prizes: 1st = 289,000 2nd = 158,950 3rd = 115,600 4th = 86,700 5th = 72,250 6th = 57,800
Fastest AI Car: Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec C Type '04
Average Race Time for AI Car = 7:57.000
Average lap time needed to win = 1:34.400

Tip: Most of the time made on this course are the heavy braking zones. The AI cars always seem to start their braking way too far back.

Race #4
Track: Autumn Ring Reverse
Number of Laps: 5
Top Speed: 145mph
Prizes: 1st = 291,000 2nd = 160,050 3rd = 116,400 4th = 87,300 5th = 72,750 6th = 58,200
Fastest AI Car: Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec C Type '04
Average Race Time for AI Car = 7:19.400
Average lap time needed to win = 1:27.800

Tip: On the long sweeping right-hander, try to stay away from the other cars as they tend to end up in the sand/grass.

Race #5
Track: Mt. Aso (Tarmac) 308A
Number of Laps: 5
Top Speed: 171mph (allows for drafting)
Prizes: 1st = 315,000 2nd = 173,500 3rd = 126,000 4th = 94,500 5th = 78,750 6th = 63,000
Fastest AI Car: Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec C '04
Type Average Race Time for AI Car = 6:15.300
Average lap time needed to win = 1:15.000

Tip: With the right car, this track is a joy. If you have the proper tune/car you will feel as if the car is on rails, expecially through the tricky first turn.

Once again, for this being an “expert” challenge, it shouldn’t be too difficult to win the money and take home the gold medals in this one. I have tested 2 tunes, links and reviews listed below, both being the Audi R8 4.2 FSI R TRONIC '07. I’ve also been looking at a few Lamborghini’s sitting in my garage saying “Pick me, pick me!” But back to the Audi’s… Either of these setups, although different in their own right, will get the job done with a little extra money for only being 500pp, and they are a riot to drive. They will definitely put a smile on your face.

This tune is simple and straight forward. It still keeps a clean transmission setup. There are really no frills with it and it works brilliantly. If I had to describe the car in 1 word…Nimble. It does truly have grip everywhere on the track. You can pass on the inside with ease or laugh at the AI cars taking the best line as you pass them on the outside, it doesn’t matter. This comfortable setup gives you the ability to size up the AI cars and decide how you are going to pass. Amazing tune Trackripper123, well done!

This tune was setup for 525pp, but I altered the power limiter down to meet 500pp. Sure, that probably took away some of how Praiano likes to tune his cars, but with these settings, it didn’t matter. I took 1 look at the setup and thought, “Hmmm this should be interesting” and it was. I’ve never ran a car with 0 brakes either front or rear unless I was forced to have the ABS off. This car is a trail-brakers dream, which I’m not great at, but even I felt like I was doing something right with this car. The ability to dive into the corners, with a 4WD, and not wash up into the fence was just plain fun. And putting down some blistering lap times was just the icing on the cake. Nice work Praiano63!

Tires: Racing/Hard
Difficulty: Expert
Reward: Gift Car Ticket Lv.22 Class
Other Notes: Ferrari F10 ‘10
Ferrari F2007
SRF = Forced off

Race #1
Track: Autodromo Nazionale Monza
Number of Laps: 8
Average Race Time for AI Car = 11:35.600
Average lap time needed to win = 1:26.950

Tip: There are a couple of shortcuts on this track. Use them to your full advantage if you are struggling. (Especially the open chicane)

Race #2
Track: London
Number of Laps: 10
Average Race Time for AI Car = 6:51.600
Average lap time needed to win = 0:41.100

Tip: London with F1 cars??? Wow, not really much to say on this. Avoid the barriers at all costs. Stay to the middle of the track on the turns if you are uncomfortable. Things happen quickly in this race, pay close attention to your marks as the trees and buildings casts shadows on the track that makes things a blur.

Race #3
Track: Circuit de Spa Francorchamps
Number of Laps: 6
Average Race Time for AI Car = 10:56.900
Average lap time needed to win = 1:09.400

Tip: As soon as I saw this track on the list, it finally clicked that the Belgian Grand Prix was just at this track. Should have known PD was going to do this series featuring this race. Steady driving as well as watching out for those slick spots (turns 4-7) are key. And again, if you are struggling, taking the “straight line” through the chicanes will put you in the lead in no time.

Race #4
Track: Cote d’Azur
Number of Laps: 8
Average Race Time for AI Car = 10:09.000
Average lap time needed to win = 1:16.100

Tip: Another short twisty track with nowhere to hide??? Be smooth; avoiding the barriers and rumble strips (even the 1 at the bottom of the hill) it upsets and shocks the car into a bunny hop that won’t allow you to turn. Stay towards the middle of the track on turns. I did most of my passing on the outside of the tight left hander (turn 5)… seemed the AI cars slowed down too much to try to rotate thru the turn.

Race #5
Track: Eifel (Circuit) 308A
Number of Laps: 8
Average Race Time for AI Car = 8:52.500
Average lap time needed to win = 1:06.500

Tip: This track was fun…once I learned it. I did have to do this race twice because I hadn’t a clue on the layout. Getting through the 1st turn as fast as you can, sets you up nicely for the following straight. Letting off the gas early and turning into those tricky corners while coasting helped me.

I’ll be the first to admit…I cannot stand these types of races. My controller setup is complete junk for races like these. Every turn made my car look like an indecisive rabbit looking for its home while being chased by a dog. (I really need to get a wheel or start using the joysticks) That is why my “tips” might not be the greatest this time around, as I only had the patience to run this series once. And at the end of every race, my F1 ended up looking like a Saturday night figure 8 derby car. I used a brand new F10 with no tunes, just added weight to bring it down to the 871pp.
