The Complete GT4 Car Companion

While working on another little project, I found it necessary to come up with a complete list of all cars, including availability, cost, power, weight (and PWR/WPR) and a token B-Spec laptime, for all versions of GT4 - PAL, NTSC-J, NTSC-UC and the little-known but possibly definitive NTSC-Korean version.

So, being the kindly chap I am, I figured I'd share it with GTPlanet - if nothing else, it'll give the people who like to spend a few weeks editing our Wiki pages something to fill in the blanks on cars in there, along with, hopefully, a very terminal end to any questions of "Where can I get (x) car? I really need/want it" threads.

A quick note - it's an Excel file. If you don't have Excel, I suggest you download OpenOffice. It's a few Mb, but free and worth the time it takes. You also get free Word, Works and Powerpoint equivalent software.

A further quick note - there is only ONE car which does not remain consistant across the versions - the Chrysler Prowler. In 3 versions (NTSC-J, NTSC-UC, PAL) it is NOT a car you can buy, but is available to win through Beginner/Spider & Roadster. In the Korean version, this prize car is the Hyundai Tuscani CCS, and the Prowler becomes a regular New car, available from Chrysler.

I should add that the power ratings are only accurate for Arcade Mode. I'm not about to create 76 columns for all the various pretend power ratings , nor take into account the GTMode Used Car power ratings (including 6.2 mile cars). So if a car is only available used, you won't see the power the sheet says.

Awesome, I am sure this will really come in handy to alot of people. Me I havent played GT4 in a while so I probably wont use it that much but I sure would have appreciated it back when I was playing the game.

Very nice.

Now that I have the Trial Mountain Times I can start thinking about events for UKGTP9 - I couldn't get your Zip files to work with Winzip on Win98, or Xp's built in Zip utility.

Whilst manipulating your data to enter the laptimes into my own spreadsheet I noticed a few things...

Where in Arcade mode are you getting the hp figures from? I cannot find where you get 248hp for (#4) Acura CL 3.2 Type S '01

In the cost column, are the figures in Italics (prize cars) calculated from GT mode, or obtained from elsewhere?

Is there a reason for entering the Acura models twice when a simple comment in the origin column might suffice?

Are you sure about the Vauxhall / Opel times being the same? Particularly the Calibra Touring Car where there is a notable difference in power and weight, yet they appear to have the exact same laptimes. I mention this as a recent Nurb 24 hour race saw these 2 cars finish 2 laps apart in GT mode.

And a few ommissions / corrections.

#309 Mazda 787B. Available as a legendary vehicle, but your L is placed in the Win column. The cost has also been ommitted.

#413 Mini Cooper 1.3i '98. Column E (vehicle type) is missing.

#399 Mercedes-Benz Patent Motor-Wagen 1886. Mass is 265kg, not 256kg. Additionally, in GT mode it has a WPR of 353.333. From this you can calculate the PWR.

#396 Mercedes-Benz Daimler Motor Carriage 1886. GT mode has the WPR at 266.055. This makes the power close to 1.1hp, and thus the PWR 3.8, not 3.4.

#408 You have left a lone comment in column R.

#238 & 239 Honda S600 / S800. Cost column should be marked U.

#552 & 554 Nissan Skyline 1500 / 2000. Cost column should be marked U.

There's more, but I'll leave them until I understand where your prize car costs are comming from.

@daan - doesn't your PC software come with Microsoft Office when you install MS Windows XP?? or i could be wrong..,

I did make a couple of other errors I've had to amend, oddly with the Korean cars (damned Excel macros). I'll check and upload the new version tomorrow evening.

No, it's the great deal from Microsoft that you'll pay around $200 for the XP and then have to shovel out another $600 to get Office. Absolutely idiotic but thay can charge whatever they want because it's the "industrial standard".

really??!! the add-on costs 3x more than the program itself?? that sucks.., and to think that it is a separate package.., absolutely idiotic indeed..,

but you CAN download software that is similar to MS Office.., just like what Famine suggested..,

I'll have to check this manually - it may be an error that crept into my original GT4 sheet, on which this is based.

Yes - it's garage value multiplied by a factor derived from a couple of purchaseable prize cars. I can't remember the factor offhand, but it's about 4.7.

Yes, there is a reason. I can't go into it, but bear in mind that this sheet is the by-product of a completely different project. This is also why the version columns are listed as 1/0, rather than the tick/- method I normally use.

Broadly, no. I cannot remember if I even ran the two cars separately, nor if I ran one and cloned the results, which one it was. It was quite some time ago
