So a couple of my friends are at my house and we decide to do an enduro. We find an unused Subaru Impreza Super Touring Car in my garage and throw a Stage 3 Turbo on it with some R1's for a 21 point race.

Our "profiles":

ty00123: The best out of the 3 drivers, I'm going to drive last and try to make up what time is lost by the other 2.

thedrummerrr: He's done a GT3 enduro with me, so he has some idea of what's going to happen. Drives second.

uberdavidd: The newbie of the newbies, the guy who hates force feedback. He's first. (We end up not going in any particular order.)

Lap 1: uberdavidd starts, and is completely horrible. I didn't take a time, but he's over 1/4 lap behind.

2: Worse than 1. thedrummerrr takes over after uberdavidd gets frustrated.

3: thedrummerrr starts catching up, but not by much. ty00123 starts thinking there's no way he can pull us out of this.

5: 1:29.465 behind the leader, thedrummerrr pulls out a 1:48.067-the best lap so far :scared:.

6: I warn thedrummerrr that he's about to get lapped. He asks if we can restart; ty00123 agrees.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1: thedrummerrr starts, and makes his way up to 1st. A MOTUL Pitwork Z is on him, though.

2: He gains a little room; up to 1.475 seconds on the Z. (Not doing too awful bad, ty00123 thinks.)

3: The Z hits thedrummerrr as he exits the last corner, but the Impreza's power gets him up to a 1.xxx second lead by the line.

4: Nothing major; ty00123 takes over. 1.582 on the Z.

5: ty00123 takes over and shows thedrummerrr and uberdavidd how to drive, opening the lead to 2.785.

6: 2.445 ahead; nothing really happens.

7. 2.716 keeping the lead steady.

8. 1.797 ahead; I majorly messed this lap.

9. 2.219; I opened the lead back up slightly after T2.

10. 2.089.

11. I got passed by a Woodone Toyota Supra and the Z. 0.860 behind the Z.

12. passed supra, Z pulling away to 0.925

13. passed Z in turn 1 and pulled to 1.764

14. Got passed by the Supra and the Z; in 3rd, 2.229 behind.

15. Attempted (and failed) to survive on orange tires; ended up in sixth position. Pitted, filled up to 51 units of fuel. Exit 31.395 behind the leader.

16. sixth position. 45.966 behind at end of outlap.

17. 46.869

18. 49.244

19. 51.866

20. 56.177 behind. I start thinking, "Why aren't they pitting?"

21. 1:02.142

22. 1:04.664 behind. ("How am I still falling behind?")

23. NSX pits ("They DO pit!!"), 1:05.634 behind.

24. passed the NSX, now in 5th. Yay.

25. au Cerumo Supra pits. I'm almost out of gas, 1:07.180 behind.

28. Z takes a pit stop (FINALLY!!!). 47.865 behind.

29. 44.582 behind.

30. I'm almost out of gas-0 bars left on gauge. Opel Calibra just pitted. I pit with 1 unit of gas left, and accidentally end refueling (have 3 units of gas in car).

31. Come back in on fumes (0 units left) and top off to 51 units. I think this ends my chances to win.

32. just got lapped by Nissan Z. I adopt a kamikaze strategy to go for the win, attempting to wallride a few turns. (I know, it's dirty, but I was desperate.)

33. 1:39.377 lap time-my best of the race.

34. Unlapped myself. 1:41.661 behind.

37. Down to 1:24.442 behind.

43. passed the Woodone Supra and the NSX (both pitted), under a minute behind.

44. 5th position, passed by Supra.

45. I enter pits, and fill up to 50 units of gas. Exit in last, still on the lead lap.

47. Pass the NSX for fifth position.

50. Pass Calibra and au Cerumo Supra, now in 3rd.

53. Pass Woodone Supra for second place.

55. 45.967 behind, in second position. The lead Z pits, and I use this opportunity to do some major catching-up.

56. I FINALLY get my lead back.

57. 7 seconds ahead-I'm flying.

60. I WIN!!! 1:43:12.722 total time, 16.xxx behind leader. Claim a new FTO Super Touring Car as my prize.

Comments on race:

-The Impreza eats tires, and this really kills you when you have to make 2 more stops than the competition.

-My pit mistake really cost me; I might not have had to go nuts if I hadn't done that.

-50 units of gas will BARELY get you through 15 laps.

-This was my first ever GT4 enduro-kind of sad. These races are fun, though.

So, your friends had to just sit and watch while you did 56 laps out of the 60?

Some team...

And if they're not very good, how are they going to learn if you don't let them play?

They both tried a little bit, but just gave up and let me drive the whole thing. I asked if they wanted to a few times throughout the race, but both declined.

Don't worry; if we do this again, there will be some pre-race practice and (hopefully) more teamwork involved.

Me and a friend did this once for New York, except we changed drivers every pitstop, LeMans style. :D

Close win you got there, having to unlap yourself and catch up to a 45 second lead isnt easy. I agree with daan though, could of let your friends play a bit more. :P

That was what we were planning on doing, but as you can see, that plan kinda fell through.

thedrummerrr wants me and him to share one of the 24 hour races doing that. I've told him that that's one of the last ones we're doing, and we're both going to do some major practicing beforehand. Should be kinda fun.

the other two guys must be rooting for you, "go team!! we can do this!!"

sorry, no offense man, peace.., :D:)

My buddy and I would do this when he was still living with me. We actually ran several endurance races this way, with me usually pulling up the last stint (due to slightly quicker lap times). Dave was a good, stable driver, and could keep tires lasting a lap or two longer than me, so we had quite a team-effort going for us.

This is a pretty funny writeup! Good job, Ty! I especially love the "false start" in the beginning.

about your friends: sometimes..you just gotta show them how it's done, right? ;)

That's just about it; figured I might be able to teach them a thing or two.;)

Exactly...at least for the last 15 laps or so; about the point that we realized I still had a chance.:sly:

sorry, no offense man, peace.., :D:)
None taken.
