Start Your Engines:

Now that we've finally had the NA release of GT5P, we thought we could have a bit of fun, and at the same time really show off our GTP_ tags to the GT World. Although slightly "cheesy", I'm sure this competition will generate a lot of fun throughout the 3 day period.

Starting on the 9th of May and lasting 3 days, our resident GTP mystery driver, GTP_001, ;) will be out and about in the public races (NTSC & PAL versions only) looking for all those GTP_tags we have here. So if you see GTP_001 in your race and you are bearing your registered GTP_tag, then take a note of the following for a chance in winning yourself a mini prize.

  1. Track Name & PP
  2. Car Make & Model
  3. Car Colour
  4. GTP_001's final race position

All registered GTP_tag members who correctly identify GTP_001 by having the required information will be placed into a draw that will determine the overall winner. Draw will take place on the 12th May 2008.

If you're lucky enough to identify GTP_001 correctly, then immediately send a PM to Sphinx stating your officially registered GTP_tag, together with the required information to correctly identify GTP_001.

I'll be out there looking for you GTP_001, whoever you are.

I see there is no GTP_001 registered so he/she certainly is a mystery.

Fast too. I see some record times set by GTP_001.
 
It isn't Hugo Boss by any chance, is it?
Because he hasn't registered in the GTP_registry, but he's very fast.
 
Interesting :) Cool idea, maybe we can win a lifetime membership (plausible), or maybe we get to be a moderator! Ahahahah, right.....

He's fast all right. I've seen him out there before, but I'm not saying where.

If we guess WHO it is do we get anything?


And I thought that online matchmaking was done by region, so does that mean only a certain region of users even have a chance or does GTP_001 have many regional accounts?

Well I finally spotted the sphinx in a few races last night in 600pp at suzuka.
I had the pace but not the reliability. I guess 5 hrs sleep a night get to you by the end of the week...Also the set up wasnt very good. Very twichy under brakes. I came off the track way to often to mount a challenge although there was another gpt_ driver who did cause the sphinx some discomfort!The two races I did manage were the best races I have enjoyed on gtp so far.All quick clean racing

Well, I'm here to tell you all, GTP_001 does exist!! 👍👍

I ran into him today at one of my usual haunts and we had a head to head race. I hate to admit it but, I spanked him pretty good too. Actually pulled over and let the poor guy catch up. :)

He showed signs of brilliance now and again, but alas, he wasn't much even for an old guy like me. :sly:

Just thought I'd let you all know he's out there and he can be had! :cheers:
 
I bumped into him/her too! not literally though :D good clean races... I should have noted the required info down, coz I want a prize! but I forgot :dunce:
 
LOL, this is where all the GTP racers come from?!

I've come across that many people with GTP in front of their PSN ids that I can't remember half of them. Surely the STiG would come up with something a little more inventive than GTP_001...

Does this mean that gtbadboy wins the competition as no one else besides Kelly has stated seeing 001 on the track.
I have to assume that the others that have spotted 001 have not posted a reply saying so.
I am surprsed that not more have spotted GTP_001 over the weekend.
