Here is a workaround from Poly..

1. Download up to the Dowload Failed screen.
2. Restart Console.
3. Decline to update when you get to the first update screen
4. Go to 'News' and redownload it from there, it will pick up from the failure.

We tried it at the GTRP - it definitely works!

Using this method, prevents you from starting the download again and again from the beginning - it keeps your downloaded data.
The progress bar starts from zero - but don't panic, it's normal.

erm......everyone already knows this.....

Also you dont have to restart the console. When the update fails first time, just select "news" from the main menu and it will continue.

Back in the day, when I had failed I was at 30%, I restart, then I just Click YES, it seemed like it picked back from beginning, but at 70% the download was finished.

Yep, this is normal - a little bit weird, but it works and that's the important fact.

It works.
If it failures again, restart the download with this method.

I just wanted to help.

Well, don't use it and be happy by watching the gorgeous progress bar again and again. 👍

Sometimes, the problem sits in front of the PS3.....

If it fails I restart the game and downloaded from the game logo screen.

It took 17 minutes to download ~80-90% the failed. Went to work, came back, and continued from the logo screen.

Beggers can't be choosers......this will be what we have to put up with for free online play???

The online experience of this game including simply downloading an update is, for a lack of a better word, FAIL. sigh :/

If only there is a way to pay for a better service....This is bascially digital waterboarding.
