Kate, two of my best friends, and I went to the Meadowbrook Concours d'Elegance this afternoon which was held on our university's campus mainly because the show was free for us to get into (well OK we do pay about $12,000 a year to go to school there). I don't really know much about old cars so I probably missed some awesome things but I just focused on stuff that struck me.

Older Cars

Ferrari 275GTB/4, I though I remember someone saying this was their favourite car of all time (maybe Rue?) so I took a couple of photos for them. Plus I think it just looks awesome.

This one is for Doug since he hates these cars with a passion, there had to be 25 of these god awful Vettes.
IMG_0370.jpg

BMW Z1, I've never actually seen of these before. Funny enough it's the same Z1 that is featured on the Wikipedia page for the car.

A really nice old school M3, I don't really know chassis designations but I'm guessing E30?
IMG_0377.jpg

IMG_0376.jpg

Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer, not sure was sub model though, probably 512?
IMG_0378.jpg

IMG_0380.jpg

Bertone B.A.T 11, apparently it made it's first showing at the Concours.

1938 Peugeot 302, probably one of my favourite cars I saw at the show.
IMG_0386.jpg

1958 Jaguar HK Special
IMG_0387.jpg

1950 Diedt Roadster Special
IMG_0388.jpg

1932 Auburn 12-160A Speedster, I loved the colour on the car.
IMG_0390.jpg

1936 Cord Model 810, I've always loved the look of the Cord since it's just so clean and gives that quintessential art deco look.
IMG_0391.jpg

1962 Ferrari 250 GT/E
IMG_0392.jpg

My knowledge of old Ferrari's isn't stellar, I just like the way they look so bear with me if I don't know what model it is or get it wrong.

1953 Ferrari America, I think a 342.

Old Bugatti race car

There was a car auction yesterday and some of the cars were still sitting outside waiting to get loaded into trucks.

Nash Metropolitan, it's just comically small.

Bugatti Type 57
IMG_0476.jpg

I haven't the faintess idea but I loved it known that one day it will be a Concours car. The stories that car must hold because you know it had to have been pulled out of a barn somewhere.
IMG_0477.jpg

Newer Cars

Lamborghini Reventón, car looks awesome in person. They started it as well and revved the engine for the crowd. Sounds like god yelling. There was a guy walking around the car and sitting in it asking about buying it. He certainly looked wealthy and the Lamborghini guy was basically kissing his behind so I assume the man had a couple other Lambos at home.
IMG_0419.jpg

IMG_0428.jpg

Viper ACR, as I've said numerous times it's the only new style Viper I like.
IMG_0421.jpg

Nissan GT-R, still just as ugly in person.
IMG_0422.jpg

Callaway C16 Coupe, the paint was amazing on it since it was transparent and you could see the carbon fibre weave.
IMG_0423.jpg

Callaway C16 Speedster, Kate informed me I could buy it for her when we get rich and famous, I just laughed .
IMG_0424.jpg

Mercedes-Benz SLR Convertiable
IMG_0425.jpg

Ford GT Heritage, I believe this was Kid Rocks but it didn't say on the sign.
IMG_0426.jpg

Volkswagen GTI W12 concept, very cool.
IMG_0430.jpg

IMG_0433.jpg

Saleen S5S Raptor
IMG_0436.jpg

Saleen S7

Morgan Aero 8, I love this car and if I could have any sports car right now I would take one it a heart beat. One question though I have though does the Aero 8 use MINI Cooper S headlamps?
IMG_0441.jpg

Bugatti Veyron
IMG_0442.jpg

IMG_0443.jpg

A world class Callaway Corvette, so well made in fact the badges were having a hard time staying on .

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

IMG_0449.jpg

F430 Scuderia...one of the Ferrari reps said the name and I had to laugh.
IMG_0454.jpg

Ferrari 612, sweet lord it is ugly.
IMG_0455.jpg

Maserati MC12, it's seriously a long walk around the car. I had no idea it was that big!
IMG_0456.jpg

IMG_0458.jpg

Deronda, never head of it but it has a 400hp 6.0L V8 good for a top speed of 183mph and 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.
IMG_0463.jpg

Lotus Exige S 240
IMG_0464.jpg

Agusta MV, lovely bike.
IMG_0450.jpg

Ducati 1098R, if I could have any bike currently this would be it.

The Reventon is at Troy, Joey, if you want to see it again. It's not for sale, & and there have been offers of $3 million. I'm also surprised you didn't take any pictures of the Noble. Seriously rare car on our side of the pond.

Hmmm this guy seemed pretty serious about buying it. I don't think he was from around here though since he had an accident which sounded German. Why isn't it for sale? Is it already claimed for? I'll head over to Suburban Lamborghini though one day this week and see if I can have a better look around it. I don't know how nice they are at the dealer.

And the Noble is rather meh, there are always one or two that show up at local autocrosses so I wasn't really concerned with it. AutoEurope has them all the time as well.

Well, unless there are 2 Reventons in Michigan that happened to come in at the exact same time (which I doubt (no offense) because we would have heard about that like we have the Houston cars), this has to be one from Troy. I don't know the full details, but I've got a major hunch this car is the one going into Mr. L's giant collection of cars.

The only Lambo dealership in the state as far as I know is in Troy so I'm pretty sure it's there. Who knows about the guys inquiring about buying it, maybe they are going to try to find him another one or something. I really don't think the guy was from around here since people come from all over the world for this show.

Nice. Very nice.

I think that "Ferrari America racecar of sorts" is a 375 MM, or maybe a 375 Plus.

Well, you're right, who knows. I know that Mr. L (from a guy I consider very close to him) has supposedly, heavily consider a Reventon, and now that one as showed up in the same time frame it would have taken for him to get one doesn't seem coincidental, esp. if the one at Troy isn't for sale & isn't taking offers which means someone must own the car.

Great photos!

They also had a Ferrari 275GTB at the british motorshow and said it was the most expensive car they had there and was worth at least £1.5 million! Maybe theres something wrong with me but tbh I dont think its that good looking, front looks a bit too thin and the front lights are a bit too big...

Thanks for the comments guys 👍!

This year's Concours was by far the best one I've been to yet, although I could go last year since I was in the UK at the time. The supercar display and the old Ferrari theme made the show...I'm a sucker for old Ferrari's. New Ferrari's aren't well designed in my opinion when compared to the beauty of the ones from the 40s, 50s, and 60s.

This might have gotten over looked with all the photos but does anyone know if the Morgan Aero 8's headlamps are sourced from the last generation MINI? They look the same but you never know.

Topgear says: yes.

You're welcome.

That's a C12 coupe... ;)

I'll ditto you on the 1098, and I have to say, compared to everything else there, the Veyron is utterly boring to look at! It doesn't have any presence, doesn't make me feel like it's got 1001hp and is worth god knows how much these days... even the butt-ugly 599GTB gets my attention more than it.

Thank you, I search around but couldn't find anything, must have been doing it wrong.

The sign in front of the car said C16 Coupe, I don't know anything about Callaway's so I just went off of that. I'm not doubting you, just explaining why I typed that.

Great pictures 👍

Loving those Chevy Astro concepts! Especially the 68 Astro II, strong hints of a Corvette Stingray in there.
