GTMSA Presents
SuperGT Season 6

Information & Signup

Welcome to season 6 of the SuperGT Championship. This season see's a different administrator take control of one of GTP's most prestigious race series, but with only a few small changes the racing will be as exciting as ever. So read on and sign up!!

General Information and Regulations

10 Rounds
1 week for qualifying
1 week for main race

Week starts on Monday, with times to be sent via PM by 11pm GMT on Sunday

Unlike in previous seasons there will be NO HP penalty for joining the series part way through the season.

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by SuperGT sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (namely me ABud) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manor.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by GTMSA for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

  • Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
  • No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
  • Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
  • No wall-riding as well. Combine with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
  • All decisions by GTMSA officials are final

Qualifying

  • 5 lap Single Race
  • Air restrictor (HP penalty) in effect
  • Weight penalty in effect
  • RM tires only
  • No tire wear
  • AI @ your choice from -10% to +10%
  • AI tires always set to RS
  • Forced Pit Entry penalty system
  • ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
  • Points: 3pts - 2pts - 1pt
  • 10 second penalty added to race time if you dont submit a qualifying time
  • Top 3 qualifiers take a 1% weight penalty to the race

Race

  • Race's will be ~75 miles (120km) in length
  • Weight penalties in place
  • Air restrictor (HP penalty) in place
  • RS, RM, RH tires or any combination thereof
  • Strong Tire Wear
  • AI at +10
  • Ai tires RS
  • Forced Pit Entry penalty system
  • ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
  • Points for race: 15-12-10-7-5-3-2-1
  • 2 points for finishing within 105% of race winning time
  • 1 point for finishing outside 105% of race winning time

Weight Penalty System

Weight penalties will be applied in RACES AND QUALIFYING. The following penalties will be allocated follwing the results of the race and apply only for the next round:

1st +5%
2nd +3%
3rd +1%
4th - 6th 0%
7th & 8th -1%
9th & 10th -2%
Lower -3%

After qualifying, the top 3 racers will also recieve a further 1% weight penalty that carries through to the race of that round ONLY.

Please note that if you dont run the race your BHP and kg values for the next round will remain the same as before ie. you WONT get a decrease in weight owing to not racing.

Air Restrictor

The winning racer will have a -1% HP penalty that will carry through to the next 3 rounds after which it will be dropped. Ex : A driver winning R3 will get -1% hp for rounds 4-5-6 and on R7 he'll see his power come back to normal. A driver winning again in that 3 races penalty period will gain another -1% hp but the longest a penalty (-1%) will hit will be 3 races.

Championship Deciders

If one or more cars are tied for points in the championship the decider will be as follows:

  • Number of race wins
  • Number of pole positions
  • Number of second places
  • Number of third places etc.

Current standings, penalties and other stats can be seen on the SuperGT stats page, here

No Problem. I must have misread.

I'm thinking of getting back into the swing of things again guys!

All depends on how the baby reacts to the noise of the wheel while she is sleeping.
I'll be in, if, it doesn't disturb her too much when I do some testing in the next couple of days.

Nice to see you again:tup:. Its been a while.

Anyone have any idea about the noise levels with the new GT5 wheel when compared to the GT4 DPF?

Is it quieter, or pretty much the same?

If it's much quieter, it will be a good reason for upgrading to the new one whilst giving me some justification for the expense.

Neil

Good to see you back again Neil, would be even better if you do race the series!

Haven't had a chance yet to ask this question, so here goes...

Is it OK if we can submit a few T-car entries in each class that the driver plans on entering and then the driver can make the decision on what car to use for the upcoming season after the Pre-Season round takes place?

I wondered why people did that for this season of the LMS. Is it really necessary? Just test cars on your own and pick the one you like best. It's less of a hassle. If it's the number you're worried about, just reserve it now; I don't see why that wouldn't be allowed.

Yeah, thats fine. Enter as many cars as you like and then withdraw the ones you dont want before the 1st round of the season

Hm...I've never seen a race series use the "Forced Pit Entry" rule before...Sounds like fun! I'll enter!

I'm in and stoked about the no HP penalty thing. Sorry to Racecar and TS for shading out of the other DTM series. Riding season started and pulled me away. I'll be doing a little testing with some of the other cars, but the good old purple 66 s2000 might have to get run for the full season this time around. I'll also throw around some of the GT500 cars just in case interest in GT300 doesn't pick up soon. See you all during the season and thanks ABud for picking up the series.

 Am I seeing things? Welcome back, Chris:tup:. its felt like an eternity since you've been here.

it has been ages, yes. I've gotten out of running series and it feels good.

much kudos to RACECAR and ABud for keeping GTMSA alive while I was gone.

I've started playing GT4 again, testing out things, but I think I'll just race for a while.

I think i've got my mojo back

Alright after a little testing here and there I have a winner for GT500. I'll be doing some recon on a couple of the other courses to see how it works out.

I'll also parade the S2000 in selected GT300 races when I have the chance once the weather turns for the worst for the year. I'll be focusing on the big boys at first though. If I can't hang I'll just camp out in GT300 and improve the skills.

For those of you undecided on what car to enter i have added the BHP and kg numbers for all the cars on the first page. Dont forget anyone can change their car up to the start of the 1st race.

FYI Andy, the Woodone Supra should be 500,1100. :)

edit: hmm, after seeing below and the supra's new stats, will have to do some re-testin.

Affraid not. Ive changed the numbers slightly on most of the cars this season in line with the results of my testing. To double check i just ran the Pennzoil GT-R, Pitwork Z and Woodone Supra and heres the results:

UnSpecified Track

Nissan Motul Pitwork Z 1'20.644
Toyota Woodone Tom's Supra 1'20.725
Nissan Pennzoil Zexel GT-R 1'20.754

Naturally i may be quicker with one certain type of car over another, but what with the weight and power penalties that run through the series it shouldnt make any difference. For what its worth ive decided to change car AGAIN and go back to the Woodone Supra, i just love the way Supra's drive!
