Again, another set of pics from a race meeting / show, but gorgeous and / or exotic nonetheless (Wine Country Classic at Infineon Raceway May31st):

Clean and ready to go 1 week before...

porscheparking1.jpg

Turns out all the effort I put into washing and waxing the Porsche after it's interior restoration a few weeks ago was worth it, and we're invited to park in the Porsche enclosure despite not actually being members! :sly:

porscheparking2.jpg

porscheparking3.jpg

porscheparking4.jpg

A few more views of the PCA enclosure with many old & new 911s, 914s, 356s, 944s, Caymans & Boxters. No Cayennes though thankfully! :P

etypeandvette.jpg

On the grass lot behind the PCA area, this gorgeous E-type and C3 'Vette convertible combo were hanging out, just behind this pair...

ferrari330s.jpg

A pair of Ferrari 330s, one GTC, one GTS that've been driven to the event. :)

minix.jpg

Beautifully restored original Mini in full Cooper livery.

minimeracing.jpg

Had to laugh at the Mini-Me cutout in the back of the mini-me-racing pit area!

shelbycobra.jpg

Shelby signed Cobra replica in the enclosure with...

fordgts.jpg

A few GT40 replicas, one real GT40 (not this one) and 2 new Ford GTs (the red one in the background as well as 3 DeTomaso Panteras (also red one in the background) and many Shelby Mustangs new and old.

fordgt40.jpg

Denbeste Motorsports display showing their GT40 and Cobra replicas for sale.

ginetta.jpg

lotuscortina.jpg

Some more of the race cars in the paddock, an Aston Martin DB2/4, Ginetta G4 and (especially for The Cracker :D) a Lotus Cortina.

mclarene.jpg

The McLaren F1 owned by the guy that races the beautiful vintage Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin Zagato next to it. (Must be nice.)

ferraris1.jpg

ferraris2.jpg

An awesome looking 308GTB in green (never seen one in this colour before, and now I want it!) and a red 328GTS.

brooklands.jpg

A Bentley Brooklands Coupe, which is a staggeringly large vehicle!

blower1.jpg

blower2.jpg

blower3.jpg

3 views of the absolutely stunning 1929 Bentley 4½ Litre (the infamous Blower Bentley.)
Who says huge exhausts are a new and "ricey" thing? Check out the funnel pipe on this beast! :scared:

multiplemogs.jpg

This years event was celebrating 100 years of the Morgan marque, and this collection of Mogs were returning to the paddock after a few parade laps of Infineon.

aero8.jpg

A lone crosseyed Aero8 in the Morgan assembly area.

porscheparking5.jpg

Returning to the somewhat emptier PCA enclosure after the racing, the car is still looking good despite the layer of dust on the interior and exterior which had been kicked up by the winds all day. :grumpy:

That appears to be a C2 Vette. :sly:

I like the red McLaren. It looks pretty modern for its age.

Great photos Nick.
Your Porsche is looking great and should be among the others.

Thanks for sharing.

👍

I swear I've seen that Blower Bentley somewhere before in person - the registration plate rings a bell - but of all the Blowers I have photos of, none of them are that one :boggled:

Ta for posting. Liking the green 328, seems to work quite well. Cheeky plate on the red Mini!

Ferrari Challenge F430 race at Infineon. May 2010.

Back again with another set of pics, and some more to come as the Sonoma Historics will be on again soon (June 6th).
Decided to rename this thread and add to it rather than start another afresh.
Anyway, without further ado, this is what I saw there...

002wsp.jpg

Ferrari Owners staging area as seen from the walk down to the paddock.

003pgt.jpg

004wm.jpg

A pair of AMG CLK 63 Black Series. Like the visor strip on the right one?

005lh.jpg

Gorgeous new GT3RS with 3.8RS embroidery behind seats, owner said it had been chipped to around 480HP.

006uvb.jpg

Still one of my favourite Ferrari models, the 308.

007fmb.jpg

008fm.jpg

One of a few F430 Scuds there, and it's tidy engine bay.

Miami Vice, anyone?

012qaq.jpg

F360 and F355.

Beautiful 250 California. Come on now Ferris.

016wpv.jpg

017dvd.jpg

020ce.jpg

Gallardo Spyder & a very tasty Gulf-liveried Ford GT.

018az.jpg

019wly.jpg

Evil-looking black Ford GT. Sounded very nice though.

021hu.jpg

Ouch. Very expensive mistake from Friday practice. :(

022wfi.jpg

Gorgeous old BMW 3.0CSL.

And on to the race (pictures get a little blurry as I lost my good camera earlier in the year while snowboarding and was using the Wife's little Nikon point'n'click job...)

023xw.jpg

Ferrari 458 Italia Pace Car.

024up.jpg

This guy span out spectacularly from 2nd between turns 1 & 2 (going up the hill) but regained the track without damage to finish 6th overall.
He won the Saturday race though.

025vb.jpg

This guy was last, and much slower, so easier to shoot!

026bl.jpg

Racers were using the extra chicane normally used for motorcycle races, but it slowed them down nicely right in front of us. :)

Infineon is in such an idyllic setting. I passed by the track a number of times when I lived in California in the mid 90s. But I've never attended a race there. If I won the lottery today, I'd be moving about 20 miles north of there tomorrow. And probably looking to buy several of those cars in the parking lot. Yeah, keep dreaming JJ.

Nice pictures Smallhorses. And great weather apparently (as always). I'm sad to see that the Ferrari Challenge Series won't be stopping at Lime Rock this year.

Great pics from the Ferrari event. And last year's event, actually. Never even seen this thread before :P

The "restored Mini" in the first set probably isn't restored. It looks like a very late (late 90s/early 00s) Cooper Sportpack, so that's exactly as it would have come out of the factory, and being in the States it won't have needed any bodywork attention at all unlike most of the UK cars!

Love the Ford GT pics, and I'm a big fan of the Ferrari 308 too 👍 Oh, and your Porsche looks pretty dapper in the first set :)
