It seems since the recent PS3 update I have been unable to play online with Prologue. During the player matching sequence I get as far as the bar being fulll and it saying 'Joining race' but before I actually join a race I get this error dialog box appear. ''Faild to connect to host!! [60:29000000]''

This happens everytime I try to race online and also my flatmate suffers the same problem too.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Have you rebooted the router in that time? If not, I'd suggest that as a first course of action.

I have just moved into a new place, but had the same problem with my own internet a day or so before moving out. The Internet we use here is Virgin 24MB and is cable internet not phone line. We did update the firmware for the router and it was reset. We have no problems playing any other games online - only GT5P.

I will reset again and se what happens.

Thanks

This has been happening since the begginning of August and slowly getting worse. The first time it happened to me it took 1/2 an hour to get into a race session. Since then its been a normal thing but only when you can get about 3 races in a row and then it starts again. Somedays [60:29000000] is all I see and then I just dont bother.

It has nothing to do with the router or Internet connection. GTAIV does a simular thing....when in a Race or Deathmatch you all of a sudden find yourself thrown out of a game and going back to single player mode. This does not happen on the Xbox when I see my friend playing it and he says it dont happen. Until Rockstar sort out the Server and the same with PD it will keep on happening.

But there is one thing I proberly can say that might be true. Seeing that GT5 is soon to be released PD maybe using the same server to test the online play of GT5 before its release. So there maybe nothing we can do when it comes to not being able to race.

Annoying isn't it.....?????

Strange, after the update, play online in GT5P is better to me.
I'm not sure if it has something with update, but now, match others players is faster and the chance to have matching unsucessfull is smaller.

I reported this issue 5 months ago (on the Playstation Forum) when it began to plague me. I asked for any help or input and got no replies. In an effort to solve the problem, I first bought a new router, then a new modem, then a new PS3, then an new higher speed DSL package, then wired directly to the modem. I paid a trained IT professional to come to my house twice to configure everything. I tried creating a new account, I tried clearing the cache after each race & Fail to connect, I tried rebooting the PS3 .... absolutely nothing I did made any difference. The problem started after over a year of trouble free connecting with out any changes to anything at my end.

I have no trouble what so ever getting into rooms and races in 5 other PS3 racing games that I have, only Prologue.

After spending over $600, I sent Sony an email with a detailed description of the problem with complete background and got back a reply which gave no information other than to say "sorry you have been having a problem", here try this ..... there were several links to the FAQ about how to make a wireless and wired connection. It was if the respondant hadn't even read my email and they were of no help what so ever. Consequently, I just stopped playing Prologue. Don't expect any help from Sony :ouch:

Sorry for your pain, jeez that is unfortunate. Thankfully only had this problem a little while.

I am a Member of AV forums and a Guy came up with this http://www.avforums.com/forums/gran-turismo-ps3/812180-failed-connect-error-message.html

Will give it a try when I get time.

First check your NAT type is showing as Type 2 - this shows in the bottom-left of the online race loading screen.

You can adjust this via the GT5p menu and the XMB. Also make sure UPnP is enabled.

I was having intermittent problems connecting to online races a while back. No problems with anything else in GT5p or any other game...

I found out that I needed to set up port forwarding on my router. For instructions, look here:

http://www.gran-turismo.com/support/en/port_setting/

and here:

http://www.gran-turismo.com/support/en/solution_b/

I followed this through and solved all my connection problems

isnt that the error when you try to join some event alone!? the server cant match you with other player because there's no one trying to play it.. (i think)

No it's not that error, this error is different as It actually says that I am joining a race but where the screen would normally jump into the starting line up, then the race, instead I get the error up. I have tried all times of the dayand night, and the majority of the time during peak times when it is likely to be full of people playing for the best chance of grid matching. Before I very rarely had a problem finding people to play, even 2-3am etc

You cannot adjust the NAT Type .... the adjustment in the Options menu of Prologue is for UPnP .....Type 1 or Type 2

My NAT Type has always been NAT 3 whether connected wirelssly or direct hard wire connection to the modem (no router). This doesn't match Sony's description of what NAT Type is supposed to be, but like I said, it worked perfectly fine for over a year as a NAT 3 and never had a problem

Port Forwarding only applies to a wireless connection. While connected wirelessly, I did set up the port forwarding as described as a test and it did not fix the problem. The only thing it did do was eliminate all possibility of connecting in a voice chat with my friends in the standard main menu. I am hard wired now and still have the problem (not with voice chat).

UPnP is enabled and "Connect to a Media Server" is disabled.
BTW ... that is not the same error code that I had been getting.

Its funny how no one seems to understand that it is all down to the Server that PD is operating on. Anything that we do to rectify the problem will not work. When I first began to play this game online last September it done the same thing but only happened once every other day or so with the same error code of [60:290000000] Cannot Connect to Host. I have been trying for the last 1/2 an hour to get some race time but again with no luck.

If PD want to sort it out they will and I'm pretty sure they dont and will not do anything about it until GT5 comes out. It is a joke when you have paid all that mone to get this console and then spend a bit more for a game that you can play online only to fine that the developers dont even bother to set up a secure and consistant server for you to play online with.

A lot of problems lie with the developers in the way they make the game(AI, Clarity, Online Availability). Maybe they are bound in some ways that they cannot do anything but make the game and then to keep everything else as simple as possible......Who knows but God and PD right??:indiff:

And for the record [60:290000000] has now come up 30 times.....shyte!!
OOOOPS Hold on I'm in and its only me and two others..................................................................................................well that was boring:grumpy:

I had the same problem so I called LINKSYS (my router brand) and they had to update it. they did it online so I didn't even have to send it in. Problem solved.

Haha, I have the same thing. It just happened today after several races without any problems... now I only get failed to connect to host every time.
I could join other races though, just not the one I was racing all day (Suzuka-intermediate).
It's really annoying since it takes several minutes each time just to see the error message eventually. :grumpy:

I've noticed it a few times, more recently but not connected i think to the online events update. It seems as has been said, that Sony/PD are gearing up for the release and are carrying out tests or upgrading the servers.

Having said that, generally, I've noticed it is getting quicker to connect and last night I did get the Error message x3 in a row, but had a starting grid of 12 on the forth attempt.

it is because your internet speed is slow. check your download internet speed.
Ah, yeah that clears it up, thank you so much! 20mbits down and 1mbits upstream gotta be slow... That as well explains why it worked perfectly fine before it started giving trouble from one minute to another and won't go away...
(sorry for the sarcasm, but that's really the worst explanation I could think of :ouch: )

PS:I'm still having it on Suzuka 750 intermediate and only there?! :(

My PS3 broke a few weeks ago and I started getting these error messages a few weeks before that and I would say on average I could only connect to about 4 out of 10 races. I'm having major GT withdrawals so when I get my new PS3 next week if the problem is still the same I'm going to be seriously annoyed, if its worse like some of you have mentioned I'm going to go insane!

I have also been having the same problem since the last update and had absolutely no problems before this, I have no chance of getting into races at specific times now, it's extremely frustrating! I am successful in about 1 in 6 attempts, grrrr!!

The same **** here, get in 1/5 and sometimes when im happy to get in, my car is freezing and I can see the other guys are racing and I cant do anything.

This is funny

Still no luck after resetting router, messing with all kind of settings etc!! I have 24mb braodband! PD/Sony need to sort something out becuase online was all I did with GT5P and now like the rest I have to wait a minimum of 6months for GT5 without Prologue!!

Sorry to hear that sucks. :ouch:
As for my issues I had successful player matchings eventually yesterday... after trying unsuccessfully about 3 hours, that's about 50 attempts and zero matching completions!

Did you try out all events? Just asking since I had only trouble with getting into specific event, others worked normal.

I have given up totally. There is no point in waisting precious electricity trying to get a race in on GT5P. As with all online games, when the next one comes out or is about to come out there is always a dip in connection and online gameplay. But in this case it is just down right retarted. Maybe its time to call it a day for GT5P and just find something else to occupy my need of speed not Need For Speed.

For all still trying......good luck to you all.

Its down right pathetic. Something you would expect when internet became avalible in 1909, not 2009

Hi again :)

Yeah, its crazy.. and a lot off us get in with friends 2 times in a hour to same time, like 00 and 30 or 07 37. You dont feel very happy when you had to wait for 30 minutes to try and hope for next race..
