It’s been a darn while, but I’m back with another photoshoot, this time of a very rare in here 1967 427 ci, 4-speed Corvette Ragtop which I found at a upholstery shop, contacted the owner and let the obturator rip. Light was not ideal, but again, it was not my car. Shot with a Canon XTI and a very basic array of lenses, a tripod and the back of a pickup.

Car was good but had some details that I’d personally ditch, like the simulated side exhaust (with Thrush covers, no less), the leather interior and the round aircleaner instead of the triangular one, but it was still cool. Detail shots:

Pop-up headlamps worked perfectly:

Six taillights, only custom touch on the body, led to a feature title called “Dead man’s Curve”, in reference to the song by Jan & Dean:

Said Thrush covers:

Engine was, as I said, soul-less, the cool triangular air filter was gone and replaced with a run of the mill round chrome air filter, valve covers were Cal Customs, but aside from that, there were no details to be found here, the 427 was all stock, but had plenty of power still.

Interior was neat, all black and stock with the exception of the stupid leather seats, should have been vinyl, but it was decent, the Inland shifter for the 4-speed was cool.

Finally, some car-to-car shots and some panning shots showing the torque of the big block:

In this one, he was already loosing the tail, but got it back. Torque roxorz the zoxorz.

So there it goes, no wife shots this time because I went alone with a friend. Any questions, any requests, just shoot.

Nice shots Cano. The 3rd shot is the stand out one for me. Nice compositions, no distracting backgrounds. Nothing to fault on the shots. I would suggest possibly using a remote speedlight on a very low power setting and a diffuser to make the car pop just a little more from the background.

whenever I get some dude, haha, I'm pretty basic at the moment, too many debts, but they're sure on the wishlist, with some lights and a rig I'm pretty much done with what I really need, I'd just need more lenses, but that never ends, does it?

I'd sure have liked to blow some light on the rear shots to kill some of the trough-the-trees reflections.

thanks for the comments (:

eh when did this bump up? thanks to all for the comments.

Man, I see this and realize it's been MONTHS since I last posted something. That's gotta change.

Nice shots. Beautiful vette with bad owner's tastes. lol. The tri-power air cleaner and the valve covers really are a problem though.

aaah, having posted this link in the DYSAGT thread made it bump, I assume. And yeah, bad owner, BAD. I don't mind the valve covers myself as they are pretty much period pieces, but the round chrome air cleaner... ugh, I loathe those. Also, it would be cooler if it had real side exhaust.

But thanks a ton for the comments (:

I like the triangular air cleaner better than round too. Unfortunately the hood on my dad's '68 Corvette can only handle the stock POS round one.
