Are Fanatec products (Gaming wheels) overpriced in Australia !

Would the Australian consumer (citizen) like to see the Fanatec Gaming wheels priced appropriately to its direct competitor the Logitech G27 ($350) and not be charged the (in my opinion) ridiculously over priced $700+ from the current Australian distributor ?

I am hoping if we get enough in the polling that Thomas of Fanatec will realize and take into consideration that the Australian consumer (citizen) is quite dissatisfied with the price's they are being charged (for a product that is stated as being in direct competition in pricing and function to the Logitech G27 world wide) considering that Australians are being charged almost 2.5 times over what all of price regulated U.S/Canada and Europe are being charged .

Hmmm Indeed pricing in Australia is rather overrated but has to do with your custom and shipping. I mean the price in europe and US arent that far apart only in Australia. Dont think Fanatec can do much about it. Good luck anyway

U.S pricing in U.S. dollars $319 in Euro pricing converted to U.S. dollars $412 for CS pack

Europe pays more because of the huge VAT tax as Claudia Faltermeier of Fanatec has told me ! . :)

Australia does not pay these huge VAT taxes ! I have purchased a U.S. owned Sayabas product manufactured in China that was posted from China to my front door with absolutely no tax fee's we do not pay taxes for products below $1000 !

Look at Australia's pricing and you will see how really far apart to U.S./Canadian and European pricing Australia is we pay (for the version 1 model) $700+ and then have to also pay for it to get posted to the door , (Australia does not pay a VAT tax) it is the Australian distributor that is inflating the pricing to such ridiculous levels and it is Fanatecs lack of finding a decent Australian distributor to look after Australian customers that is doing this which it is Fanatecs responsibility to standardize pricing in Australia as it has been Fanatecs responsibility to standardize pricing in the U.S/Canada and Europe ! (we pay $299 just for the wheel itself I think it is called pure without postage/and we also pay $329 just for the clubsport pedals without postage/you guys pay $319 U.S. and 319 Euro for the complete CS pack we pay $700+ without postage , even more for the Turbo S which is $800+ without postage)

Try turning the tables so Fanatec does not standardize the U.S./Canadian and European prices so as to let some dodgy distributors inflate your countries pricing to what ever they want making your pricing roughly look like this with U.S./Canada pricing roughly at $450+ without postage and the European pricing roughly at $550+ without postage (which is still cheaper than the Australian $700+ without postage) and see what U.S/Canadian and European consumers would think if Australia was being charged the correct price of $350 ! :)

Well I dont know really all that musch about you shipping and tax costs.
But I used a currency converter to see what 320 euro do in australian dollars.
The 320 euro is the price europeaan pay for the GT3RS v2 with CSP.

Now the converter tells me 320.00 EUR = 450.165 AUD.
What I did was looking up the shipping rates from germany to australia.
They roughly start at 226 aus dollars. The cheapest I could find.

Add that together is 675 aus dollars give or take.
Now the company needs to make a profit out of it so 700 aus dollars aint to bad.
Logitech probably has factory there so they wont pay for shipping.
That would reduce the price drastically

Well I see you all talk about no tax. Well in europe we do and in europe is were Fanatec is based. So the price youll get is with the tax. Because we must pay tax in europe. DOnt know the exact rate in germany but in holland producttax is 19%. But you do pay it.

America does not pay European tax for their wheels and Fanatec wheels are manufactured in China which are then shipped to Germany and America .

So I think it is not fair to pay this tax as America does not pay European tax so Australia should not pay European tax .

I bought a Popcorn Hour C200 (an American owned company) recently and I paid no customs fee direct from China to my door .

Shipping for this item was $49 Australian Dollars which weighed 4 kilograms
(I realize the GT3 RS CS would weigh more it is just an example)

Even them pay the tax. The price they see is with tax charged in germany. If its fair or not. I dont like paying that much tax either but thast how it is. And you dont wanna mesh with tax people :D
 
Yes they are Overpriced in Australia! in the Fanatec webstore (USA) the GT3 RS clubsport pack was $319. If You convert it, it would be around $400 and plus a bit extra. But the Place i plan to buy the wheel from, Pagnian Imports, sell it for $649! even the plain GT3 RS wheel by itself is $179.95 US. Convert it, around $210 but then they sell the wheel for $300!!! The clubsport pedals cost $350. The G27 in Australia is around $350 and that is nearly half the price of the whole clusbport pack of the GT3 RS. Fanatec please try harder. Even some stores won't get all the fanatec gear due to demand.

Hi I agree about the tax info you mentioned. And you are correct re GST in Australia. And the import duty.
I had written about the difference in price here in Australia. Same thing if buying buttkicker products here from http://pagnianimports.com.au/

Are not currently registered to charge GST in Australia (last check October 2013) and so can not legal charge a customer GST.
If you have bought items from them and been charged GST, 10%, then you should be asking why.

This is how Thomas answered to someone on their Facebook page:

The US store does not include the sales tax you have to pay in Australia. It will never be possible to match the same price. Unfortunately we also have higher logistics and adminisration costs in Australia.
