Delay for UK?

So I woke up this morning to a couple of e-mails from Play and Amazon stating that the manufacturer has pushed the release back until the 5th. To me it makes no difference whatsoever really, and is actually what I expected the UK/EU release to be anyway as we almost always get the releases on a Friday.

Yeah I got that email too. Games are never released on any other day than Friday in the UK. If you're just getting the normal copy of the game in a store, I'm sure there'll be a midnight release so you could say it feels like it comes out on a Thursday.
 
Noooooo!!

Still got no email from amazon.uk, but they messed up a lot of release date latly. I still have mine shipped the 2nd (i hope it stays that way)

Going checking again!

Thats wrong because the worldwide release of MW2 was on a Tuesday!
 
Yep, I got this e-mail too (from Play.com, Collector's Edition).

Will await some more official news, but I'm particularly bummed by that. Not only have I booked the 3rd, 4th and 5th off work, but have friends coming over for the weekend, so wanted to get some private time with GT5 before then having to share it...:)
 
My CE order from Amazon UK still states Release date: 3 Nov 2010 (Dispatch estimate: 2 Nov 2010 and Delivery estimate: 4 Nov 2010). The normal edition release date has changed to 5 Nov 2010 though.
 
I hope that does not happen here in the US, i already put in for two days off on the 2nd and 3rd of November, new games always come out on a Tuesday witch is the 2nd here so i may not have to worry
 
i have ordered from play.com and have the same email, but games sometimes come out on tuesdays so we will see!
 
Since games in some UK stores are significantly cheaper than in the rest of Europe, couldn't this be a strategy by Sony to encourage people buying games from their areas instead?

I'm not going to be at home Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday morning.. considering taking my PS3 with me.
 
I called this already, in the UK games generally release on Fridays, so GT5 is held back until the 5th (a friday). In Australia games generally release on Thurdays or Firdays so we got notice it will release on the 4th.

And yet the UK official site, updated this morning, still carries 3rd November.

Rules of the Release Date thread still apply...
 
I have ordered the standard version on Amazon and is still has delivery estimate as the 3rd (expedited delivery) so it may just be an error since most retailers assume games released in the UK come out on a Friday.
 
maybe its only the "editions" that have been pushed back then, which would explain why the official site hasn't changed
 
Awww man - i've pre ordered from amazon but had no email - i'm thinking i need to check my pre-order !!
 
Collecors edition and it still says delivery 3rd november - when looking at standard it says 5th !
 
I got the very same e-mail this morning from Play as well. Both the SE and CE are now dated as a 5th Nov release, I think Game sent out e-mails to their customers a while ago with this on, Amazon have changed the SE date to the 5th but as mentioned the CE release date is still showing th 3rd. HMV meanwhile are showing a 26th Nov release date:lol:

I've ordered the SE from HMV, Play and Amazon so as I get all the stealth cars. I'll be cancelling those orders as soon as I get my e-mail with the codes on, if its too late to cancel them I'll be posting them straight back unopened to get my cash back. I just hope I don't get any of them a day or two before I get the CE version as I'll be annoyed as hell having a copy in my hand which I can't open while I'm still waiting for it

Thats not true. Recently Starcraft II got released here in Ireland on a tuesday.
 
I walked into HMV the other day, they had their GT5 pre-order boxes out, and they all said "Released November 5". So something is certainly up.

Ok ok, I stand corrected.

On a side note, I'd like to think that GT5 is as big a game as those two. It should have a worldwide release on the 2nd. But we've waited years so we can wait a few more days.

Back on topic, I have pre-ordered the CE off Amazon but haven't received any e-mil regarding a change in release date. Not that it matters for me, I'll be out of the country until mid-december so my copy of the game is just going to be sitting there! I don't know how I'm going to survive 5 weeks knowing its waitingf for me!
 
I do believe it's just the editions that have a later release date, i recently went into HMV and the signature edition was scheduled for a 5th release.
