Custom BGM

Assuming it's the same as other games, you have to make a playlist first in the XMB before you start the game. Then if it's not in the game's audio options menu, you might have to select it from the XMB while in-game.

The problem I'm encountering is that when I select an album or playlist within GT5, it only plays the first song in whichever playlist/album is selected.

I'd also like to know how to import my music. When I go to the library, I can only view the in-built game tracks. I have playlists set up in my XMB, so how do I get these playing in the game?

When you select the playlist in the Options menu move to the Play Mode button, go in to that and there is an option to Shuffle and you can set it between Album/Track.

This is exactly how I got it working.

- Make a playlist in the XMB
- Enable user BGM in game
- Select the Playlist
- Select the first track in the playlist
- Go to Play option (on the right hand side)
- Select shuffle album

Works just fine. 42 tracks of my own BGM in game 👍

I have the User BGM problem and every time it plays the first track I selected then shuffles. I want it to automatically shuffle because hearing the same song over and over is annoying. I might add I play offline.

Strange, I have over 200 custom BGM for races and enabled shuffle of order. I rarely hear the same song twice over. I just created a playlist in XMB and dumped everything I wanted in there and went to options in GT5 > audio > use custom BGM.
There are also audio options in GT life you might want to check out.

For some reason every time the game is started it loses the shuffle option and I have to reset the shuffle each time I load up. Its getting old pretty rapidly.

Thankyou Polyphony, this feature is awesome!

Two things would make it even better:

I would like to be able to set a different playlist for Race, Replay and Menu's.

I find with my own BGM I have to set the volumes at 120 for the music and turn the Race Sound Effects down to about 50 before I can actually hear the music, some of those Race Cars are very loud, which is realistic, so it's all good.

So the second thing that would be handy is a volume preview, so you can hear how the engine noises are going to blend with the music as it takes ages to go back out of the options then back in to a race just to see if it's right.

Big thanks for supporting ATRAC, I ripped my entire music collection to the HDD when I first got my PS3, to save the poor Blu Ray drive, and finally GT5 supports them perfectly, with awesome 352 Kbps Sound quality!

Third wish would be for the PS3 to support some sort of lossless audio, but I guess that's asking a bit much, I still play my SACD's as they apparently sound better than ATRAC.

It just repeats the first track selected when you choose the user BGM in the playlist. It keeps repeating it until the song actually ends then changes to another song by shuffling. I have to be doing at least 5 laps on a huge track for it to change songs and even when it does if the song doesn't finish by the end of the race it repeates that song then. Also every time I turn the game off then back on it always starts at the song I selected. Can anyone help me?

So you create the shuffle on the xmb?

I don't want mine to shuffle anymore becasue out of 30 songs I keep hearing the same five or six over and over

I have to constantly reset the shuffle on my personal background music every time I start up GT5! Anyone know of any solutions to this annoyance?:nervous:
