Buyin DLC codes off ebay

I was just wondering, because I am from Australia (therefore I have the Australian version of the game), if i was to buy a DLC code off ebay, what region should I be looking for? Would the Asian or European region ones work?
Sorry if this is a repeated thread but I could not find any info anywhere. Cheers
 
As you require eu codes you need codes from the European ps store. Asia and US codes won't work for you[

There are ways around this. Setting up a PSN account for the region the cars are for. I seen great deals like $50 for all 6 stealth cars for you euro/Aussie players.

I know for sure that using an EU code on an EU account will redeem the DLC, but it won't get you cars in the US version of the game. I'm guessing if the disc region doesn't match, making alt accounts is gonna be a waste of time and money.

Correct. The codes will work on a EU account created on your system, but you would need to load the PAL disc to see the cars in your garage. Also, none of the DLC cars are transferable (Stealth/Chrome Line/other). Want to try it for yourself? Go get the free XJ13 Chrome Line from the Facebook game. Car won't show up even though all goes through including code entry. I'm still pissed they gave away that car to all EU for free and left the rest of us out. Now I have the Collectors Edition and I'm short 1 Chrome Line car. Lame.
 
Well in that case the codes I bought recently will be useless, need to find someone in asia to give some chromelines too...........

Some of the people selling them on Ebay are giving refunds, especially if the code hasn't been entered yet. If you tell them the code wouldn't enter because of region-incompatibility and it's still unused, you might be able to talk them into a refund.
 
I bought the apex book with them, the codes were a bonus, not really bothered, but thanks. I have an asian account and was hoping that they would be saved to the ps3 rather than the user.
 
They are. Everyone on the PS3 that has an account has access to the cars. It needs to be the correct version of the game, though. You'd need a PAL disc to see them.

Yes - i bought all the stealth cars off a seller in Canada a day before release, and the seller actually canceled the transaction before I could after he discovered they wouldn't work on a NTSC disk no matter what region the PSN account was set up in.
 
OK, well this is good news! I'm sure its PAL here in the UK, so I'll have some new cars to drive. i also bought from a canadian seller!

edit. I take it will still have to enter the code via my asian account?

It "might" work. I still think it's separated by the 3 regions though (NA/EU/JP). Give it a shot and let us know.
