There is one missing Premium car from GTHD in GT5

The premium 1999 Subaru World Rally Team Impreza WRX STi WRC GC8 from Gran Turismo HD seems to have been completely removed from Gran Turismo 5. I was under the impression that all Premiums models no matter the year would be under the dealerships but in the acse of this car it is no where to be found.

THIS IS NOT AN UPSCALED GT4 MODEL. That is a premium car, one of the first any of us got to see originally. This car, the missing Red Bull Runway (shown in the 2009 E3 trailer with the 787B and R10 drag racing) and the removal of El Capitan (seen ion the TGS Red Bull trailer) have been removed for unknown reasons. Was it memory issues. Do they plan on charging us later on down the line.

It also apparently runs at a higher resolution, but then I don't think they had 16 cars on the circuit... :P


Odd that the Scooby is missing :odd:

El Capitan was actually featured in the GTPSP intro, parts of which ended up in the Red Bull teaser which got pulled. So it probably didn't mean anything.

If I am not very much mistaken that was actually meant to be at the TG Test Track, was it not?

Correct me if I'm wrong :)
 
IIRC, the Impreza WRX STi WRC was not in the released GTHD but only seen in videos prior to the game's release in December 2006. The only rally car in the game is a Toyota.
 
Ok well the Subaru isnt in GTHD but there is a 95' toyota rally car.

And I'm amazed at how much more detailed the trees are, also track loaded in 8sec and menus are fast...wonder how things changed with GT5 :/

Look at the E3 video and notice the runway lights and background environment. The Top gear track has none of that. Now go to the Red Bull Hanger photo mode outside of the hanger itself. The exact runway is there.
 
I saw this car in the used dealer, it was listed for 2.5 mill. If it wasn't that exact car, it at least had the same exact livery.

I was also wondering what happened to this car. I assume that hopefully the exterior from GTHD will remain the same and it will be a standard car. PD probably just never took the time to do the interior and listed it as a standard car instead. This would be somewhat similar to cars like the Veyron and Countach, although clearly the Subaru was modeled 100% to the specifications of GT5 premium cars from the outside, unlike those cars (much better than GT4 but not quite GT5 premium quality). Perhaps someone can purchase it if they see it to verify.

But in the menu selection video, you can see that the interior had been completely modeled.

I don't think they look much different to the mountains in GT5 Eiger.

Physics have moved on a lot since. I'd take GT5 over this 1 track demo any day
 
there are also some cars missing from Prologue...when I remember the Gran Turismo Performance-cars, which are not available in the full game.

Yes, there are a slew of Gran Turismo specials that have mysteriously disappeared... :odd:
 
i dont remember most those cars when i had hd concept. there was like 10 or something cars you would race on the track and had to beat the time to get gold. when you beat all the tests you unlock drifting mode and then the cars with higher performance.

It's not removed, just hidden. If you downloaded it ages ago, just look in the "what you've downloaded" bit on the PSN store, you can still download it from there

I've been holding off upgrading my HDD because I didn't want to lose GTHD... :dunce:

when it got removed from PSN store, I thought it was gone for good. I've been holding onto my downloaded copy with dear life. :embarrassed:
