Anyone know what this error is?My Ps3 got the blue screen problem so i reset the PS3 back to factory settings. When i went to play GT5 again i got a message saying Error 0x80001063.Anyone know what this is?I deleted my gamesave file and it's still there.

Hi try deleting the Gran Turismo 5 install data in Game data utility. See if that solves it. Did you do much in the game as deleting the game save file sounds like a crazy thing to do in my opinion.

I'm getting the same error, or atleast i think so.

I got a new PS3 and did a data transfer, fired the game up and got the error.
comes up every time i start it but doesn't seem to be causing any issues?

Yea i have done a lot.I started the game on my nephews PS3 so hopefully i will be able to transfer my game save from there once they unlock the gamesave file this month.I will try what you suggested and see what happens.

Try what I recommended above. I'm shooting in the dark but if you did an install of any kind, it might help cure it. Just don't delete anything of the game save utility, make sure to go on game data utility.

On your nephews PS3, did you start the game on your own PSN account or your nephews? If the game saves are locked to your PSN ID then it will be unlikely you will be able to transfer if you started it on your nephews account unless they change the saving system to how it was in GT5P. If they do this, it will be unlikely for you to earn trophies if you started on a different account.

No i signed in on his PS3 with my account.I hope i will be able to transfer my game save over to my PS3 now that it is working again.

I had this exact same error after i used the backup utility to backup everything on my PS3 and put an SSD in. The error went away after i re downloaded my DLC cars... Pretty sure if you re download them it will go away too :)

Now it says Cannot find rights information with the same number.Any idea what this means?

If you downloaded any stealth cars or chrome line cars from PSN then redownload them from the store through your download history like the guy above you mentioned. This might fix the rights issue by activating the cars again.

I used the data transfer utility last night and the same error happened to me. Before you do it, it tells you to deactivate your account. All you have to do is go to Account Management and activate your account on the new PS3 and it should fix it.

I got the same error. My 2nd gen ps3 got the blinking red light of death after completing about 25% of GT5... So i had to go buy a new slim PS3. After I did the data transfer utility and start GT5 I get ERROR 0x80001063 This is really annoying and makes me question the integrity of my game file and future updates. Anyone else have any ideas that can get rid of the error with out loosing my game progress since that info is not on my old PS3 anymore because it gets deleted after the Data Transfer.

None of the suggestions seem to work or seem logical to perform. I am confident it is because the game was not physically installed onto the new machine so it may have something to do with all the terms and conditions you have to agree with and some sort of file that maybe saved on your computer that it verifies with. What do you guys think?

The question is fresh install and redo progress and get rid of error or live with the error and keep all game data. :-/

i just figured out how to solve the issue!

i just finished upgrading my ps3 from factory 40gb to a 320gb hdd, since then i have been getting the same error message.

1. go to your account information
2. system activation
3. under games hit deactivate
4. then immediately go back and hit activate
5. no more error message =]

this was just on a whim, im not sure if it will be the same way for everyone, but it worked for me.

Deactivating and reactivating my account worked for me. Also I was wondering if you are having the same issue that I am having with my garage? After I did the data transfer some of the small preview pictures are the cars are missing. The cars are still there when I click on them but no preview pictures.

I had the same problem after switching from an old fat ps3 to a new thin one and then doing a hdd upgrade. The above fix worked for me too, disable and enable ps3 for games, but I noticed that I'd lost lots of the preview images of the cars in my garage. If this happens then I've found that you can regenerate the thumbnail from the car menu (triangle when looking at car in garage list) and selecting 'Create thumbnail'.

Thought I'd post my solution in case anyone else is stuck without their images.

Thanks for this... just got done doing the exact same thing and had the same problem.

Lol, deactivating and reactivating fixed the body rigity and engine, which were both at 500k to fix before.

Thanks twice!

Thank you all for all the tips!

In my case, the error disappeared after I reentered the redeem code for my collectors edition and then downloaded the crome line cars.

The error occoured after data transfer from the old 60GB PS3 to my new loved one with 320GB.

And another thanks - same happened to me after using the data transfer utility (and what a headache that was)

I got this error after using the Data Transfer Utility. I forgot to reactivate my account on PSN, and after doing so, the error did not return. Rather than getting the error message, I re-received all my downloaded cars. As mentioned before, it is obviously associated with those, as the system must not recognize them as legitimately being in your garage.

I had a failed data transfer...restarted in safe mode because my HDD was corrupt and now I'm receiving this message. I have 1000s of hours invested into GT5 and I dont want to lose data, but I'm so tired of the message. Will these steps taken from pg 1 fix it safely?

1. go to your account information
2. system activation
3. under games hit deactivate
4. then immediately go back and hit activate
5. no more error message =]

thx
