In addition to the gift a car feature, why not LOAN a car feature?

I was just thinking, with the possibilities of online gifting, a lot of deals are being struck with online trading, instead of what I think PD intended as just "gifting cars".

However where a deal is made to gift cars it is ussualy a trade not a gift, and one person can easily screw the other over by not holding up his end of the deal, and unlike real life you really have no option but to suffer the damages.
One also person always has to go first taking no risk, and the other guy playing roulette, there isn't even the option to swap one car for another at the same time.

Of course most of the time its fine as long as you find a trustworthy person, but I don't see why a trading system cant be developed, in addition, have an option to be able to LEND a car to someone for a given period instead of gift.

Say Loan a car for 3 days to a someoene that really is asking for it but has nothing to give you in return, you can skip the part about asking for it back when its they are done with it. why not have that option?

If you make your car available online, does that not do the same thing? ie. people can come to your community page and use your car?

Not tested it but i thought thats what it did.

Nope, at the moment it is just for bragging on showing off your cars.

I read other communities permit loans and borrows in the market thread.

Not very fair, imho. Just think about 4 or 5 friends: one buy a WRC to compete in rally events, another a GT500, another a Diablo for the Lamborghini exclusive, etc.... with a few credits you can access to all cars you need to complete the game, straightaway.

the very reason why its a bad idea. no one would have to buy many cars, just loan them --- not very sporting then is it.
thats why gt5 has the 20mill cars to buy so people like us will play the game over and over again to buy what we need to finish the game.
whats the point in doing the game in a month when it would take six month with an average time played of say 2-3 hrs a day.

If people want to just beat the game and that's it, why not let them? They're ruining their own game, it doesn't affect the rest of us who like to tune cars, build our garage up, and keep racing until we beat our lap times by a thousandth of a second,.

lol I thought about suggesting having a "community truck", since people are always looking for trucks.

Just get it, used it, change oil and gift it to the next person.
