As far as I know, this is the first recorded sub-5 minute lap on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with (stock) Ferrari F2007.

4:59.465

Setup:
Stock Ferrari F2007 Formula 1 car
G25
Manual pedal shifting;
ABS: 1
Everything else OFF
Soft Racing Tyres

My mind has been blown.

Yeah? How can you help me with HD recordings?

I can do HD recordings as well, I presume you can share the replay files and these are not protected like the save game file?

If you want you can send the replay file to one of us and we can record the lap and capture it with our HD capture devices I use the Hauppage HD PVR

You might want to turn the ABS off. Correct me if I'm wrong but the F2007 as with most recent F1 cars are ABS-less. Carbon Ceramic yes but no ABS. And I think the current Racing Soft in GT5 especially on an F1 car is a bit optimistic. It's too grippy even on RM cars. Hard or Medium would probably give a much better sense of grip and control.

I remember in GT5P, most people opted for N1-N2 as these tires give the best impression regarding downforce/grip ie. the tendency for F1 cars to become slippery at lower speed (no downforce) and better grip at higher speed (more downforce).

Yes, I think it's possible to share the files. But, for example, if I send these files to you (via PSN or some other method), you will only be able to see the video in-game. Because only the game recognises this type of file.

I did drive on Hard on the previous runs and I managed to do 5:00.601. But I'm not an expert on optimal setups.

Files are not protected. You can export replay files to the xmb and put it on USB stick. Then rar/zip it and pm it (the file is less than 1mb). Then you record it, file comes out anywhere from 200MB- 1GB (depending on the length). Then we upload (Mega/rapid) and give you the link to download it.

Check out my thread if you are curious about it

That's impressive but the ABS needs to be off :)

I noticed the steering wheel isn't moving. It did in GT5P (in this view):

Hopefully PD sees this and will patch it. The hand animation including the shifting in GT5P is the best I've seen. It easily beats the animation in F2010.

F1 2010 has hand animation for shifting? If so, it must be barely noticeable, as it often is in real life.

The steering wheel doesn't move because he's in the standard F2007, ported from GTPSP. The premium one, which you would buy in-game, has a moveable steering wheel.

Hi Alien,

:tup:Congrats for being the 1st dude to crack sub 5. Nice neat driving man.

I'm grinding to get to X1 at the moment. Will try for sub 5 one day.

Cheers mate

Yes well, 5 minutes was really my goal. I don't know when I'll return for a serious attemt to beat this time with the F1. Now I'll also continue with the career.
