Do you have force feedback set really high? Sounds like the motor is fighting you. I have mine at 5 and it makes very little noise, certainly not like that.

"I got the same problem, that is my second wheel and I think I will get a third one hehe"

Sounds like a worn out broken tooth on a gear...
Shame to say, but that is broken! Shame for the shopkeeper...

Send it back to PD and reclaim what you earn!

I had the same thing happen to my first DFGT(was only 2 weeks old), changed it in last week for a new one. Hopefully this one last longer.

Edit: Didn't sound as bad as yours in the video, but it's definitely very similar.

Edit2:
maybe allot DFGT have this problem here someone have same problem and one another video with same noise http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah_zZQmwsgs
That was the thread i made on the logitech forum btw.

Ok,i am suddenly having the same problems with my DFGT...

It feels like when driving on tarmac,it simulates driving on gravell...I don't know how else to explain it!

I have opened up the wheel box and cleaned nand creased everything up again, this makes no difference...

If i recalabrate the wheel just before a race,it seems to be ok for about 1-2 minutes, and then it will start to fail again!!
It somehow feels like the electric motor keeps "hanging" when going thru a slight bend...the ffb turns on and off repeadately and is either strong at one moment to be 0 in the next second!!!...

I have tried to race with GT5 prologue today, and it works perfectly fine!!

So it seems like something to do with GT5,but i find this very strange, cause wouldn't everybody using this wheel have the same experience??...

Am very annoyed because this is allready my second DFGT wheel in 1 year with problems...

I hope this new Thrustmaster wheel comes out soon, and if i read good reviews about it,i might buy it...

Damn!!!!

For me, everything works fine except that it makes the same noises in your last 2 videos whenever I drive on dirt/snow.

Is mine broken too?

The problem is getting worse... :grumpy:

I have opened up the wheel case again yesterday and managed to fix the 'deadzone' the DFGT wheel has by putting a thin metal ring between one of the toothed wheels inside ....

One of this wheels(medium sized white one)whas very loose and with the ring now its super thight!!!... :)

So thats the good news 👍

Now for the bad:

In most races the wheel's ffb is fine the first few minutes and also gives a smooth feel thru the turns,
Than ,especially after driving over some curbs where the wheel gives you this nice vibration, the ffb start to go nuts!!...

As i already explaned(or tried to ...lol)above,the ffb/electric motor goos on/off/on/off many times per second when driving thru turns...it just rumbles and stutters like crazy and it becomes really difficult to know what the front tires of the car are doing...this than results in a very strange behaviour of the car and many silly -off track- moments...

Stranger is that after about 1 hour play this problem starts to dissapear every now and than for some time and the wheel actually feels better than ever... :dunce::dunce::ill::nervous::crazy:

But when i start a next race it either comes back straight away or not..

As i am waiting for the price of the Thrustmaster wheel to drop(sorry 500 euro is just too much for me to spend on a wheel wich is so new and so little tested for faults and endurance quality to justify its price)i would love to know how to fix this problem with the DFGT wheel...

So if any of you technical brains out there have any idea, please let me know...

Thanks in advance,

You can also look at the Fanatec GT2 wheel, it's $500 for the set of pedals and wheel (save you $100?) and is a better wheel than the DFGT I would think because of the price difference. Anyway, just an idea :) Hope you get it worked out Spy.

Sadly it's backordered to May.

The Fanatec Carerra wheel w/pedals and shifter is available as far as I know, and runs about $180US. Better than a DFGT because you get a clutch, a 6-speed and full programming, but you give up the GT license and in game remapping.

Gravel and snow shook the hell out of my G25 and I had to turn down force feedback (initially until got used to it) when I first tried GT5.

Seems odd that your wheel works fine with Prologue still?

Thaks Jerome,i thought about this wheel, but after i tried it at a mates ,i didn't really like it...the looks/feel etc is not much better than a functioning DFGT wheel...ok,the padels are for sure, but the wheel itself not...and if its "only" 20% less expensive than the Thrustmaster...hhmmm...

It IS odd that it workes fine with prologue, than again, the physics of prologue are much less agressive than GT5's...

The rally in gt5 also shook the hell out of my wheel, and i initially thought something had come loose inside my wheelbox, but it didn't...its an electrical or software issue, not a mechanical one... :nervous:

My Logitech DFGT has a REALLY weird problem going on. I'll start a race, and within 5 minutes, I'll be coming out of a turn, and proceed straight in the car, but the wheel is turned a bit to the left...It gets worse and worse and by the end of most races, the wheel has slipped out of position so much, its almost 90 degrees off center! (yet it tracks straight! FRUSTRATING...so I called Logitech, and they're allowing me to return in to them, and upgrading to the G27 and paying the difference.)...this is all until my Thrustmaster T500 arrives of course. -got that thing on order to ship in around the 5th of Feb.

out of curiosity, do you drive your car when damage is set to full more than the normal user (who alost never play with it) and continue to drive it whilst the wheel is making very sudden jerks from the damage?
