One question... will the used cars be as bought with an oil change or will they have an engine rebuild? I ask because my FGT had 825HP after an oil change when I bought it. Having some cash burning a hole in my virtual pocket I bought an engine overhaul (effectively new showroom fresh FGT with oil change) and it had 835 HP. Noy much but it would probably have a small effect on the figures.

Also I could let you have a showroom fresh 0 miles 2D. I could even throw in an Oil Change!!

Though I can't help you with spare cars (I don't own anything you need, sorry man.) or the maths, I'd like to give you a massive 👍👍👍.

I really support your idea, and I'm looking forwards to the results. I suggest you to include with every car a little paragraph and your opinion about it with some non-numerical data like looks, feel, how easy is it to drive, cost/benefit, etc.

Good luck with the testing!

OH, forgot to add:
All cars will have a fresh oil change, and all cars will have all possible upgrades.

Good idea, I will do that! 👍

@Rogs: Added to FAQs section, thanks!

I only have a 0 miles 2D which would of course not be representative of one with some miles on it, if the FGT I mentioned is anything to go by. Would you prefer someone gave you one with some miles on it straight from the UCD?

Rogs, mileage doesn't matter. I heard that engine/chassis repair only makes a 0.06 second difference at most, so I'm not worrying about it too much. :)

It's a great idea and alot of work, your commitment (if you complete this) is definately something to be admired, aswell as the altruism you show in sacfricing your progression in the game to help others.

👍 👍 👍

Please do not take this as being negative, or having a go or trying to to be arguementative, but I have a suggestion.

The tracks you propose testing on, Indy (short, road course) and Tokyo - these tracks will provide a test for the cars. however, maybe addng or changing a track to something that is not so smooth i.e Trail Mountain, Le Mans (Sarthe) or Nurburgring??

The Tokyo track is very smooth and 'easy' for the cars, whereas a bumpy or uneven track really tests a car's ability to handle in difficult situations, most cars can be made to handle, or have handling problems corrected on smooth tracks, a track with poor surface or bumps is different.

I find that some cars handle an uneven surface better than others plus many of these cars were made to race at Le Mans, so maybe this track would help to add authenticity to your test??

Like I say, please please please do not be offended, this is a great idea and alot of work and you should be commended for doing this..

👍

You are missing the Toyota GT one 99' and Lamborghini Diablo Nomad race cars, you can borrow mine if necessary, they are fully modded and I will still have them. Add me when your ready. I'll forget by then so remind me in the add what you are doing and where we "met" so I can come back and double check the name, and Ill be happy to help.

Great suggestion. 👍 I actually considered Trial Mountain for it, but chose Indy and Tokyo instead. Sarthe and (especially) Nurburgring are longer tracks that I still don't have much practice on, and I don't know them as much as Trial Mountain or Tokyo. So I thought it would be best not to do those so that I keep my runs as consistent and objective as possible.

I'm glad you suggested this, I will add Trial Mountain to the test list.

I just realized this, but now with those 3 circuits, there's a nice variety: Short and tighter race track, high speed city circuit, bumpy mountain circuit. :D

Thanks again for that suggestion. 👍

You are missing the Toyota GT one 99' and Lamborghini Diablo Nomad race cars...

Toyota GT-One is on there, and as for the Nomad...
Technically it is considered a JGTC, and I decided against including JGTC and Suger GT cars in the list. Not only would they take forever to collect and test, but the performance would be all around the same for each other (please correct me on this if I'm wrong) and I just want this list to be for the race cars.

Also, thanks for the offer, but I should be getting the Toyota GT-One through a trade today. :)

------

Edit: 53 cars in total being tested, I figure about 15-20 minutes to test and tune each, so anywhere from 14-18 hours of testing. :D

Cool, no problem, thank you for listening to my comments and taken them on board.

I hope others appreciate the amount of time and effort this is taking you to do.

This is one of the reasons I made the suggestion, I felt that some people might be critical because when you test a car, theoretically, it should be tested in all situations it will face once testing is over. As many of the cars were ''Le mans'' cars, and this circuit is very bumpy, I felt this element would help the validity of your test.

I wish you the very best of luck with your test.

Nice plan but Id like to know how in the world you plan on getting the funds for every car and all the upgrades for all of them?

Spreadsheet update: I have the first 4 tests done for the first 13 cars I own, and I have 15 left. Those should be done about noon PST (GMT-8) time tomorrow, or sooner. :)

You should check out what I have there so far, the Gillet Vertigo did way better than I expected.

Wow very nice that you are committing yourself to this.
Very nice overall board to see what car is best at some stuff.
Until now I'm also surprised of the Gillet Vertigo!

I have finished the first four tests for all of the cars I own. I will be doing the last three tests for each car as I go, and collecting the ones I'm missing.

Happy New Year GTP!!! :D

I know F2007 and F2010 are one-make-only and can't be driven in a-spec or b-spec , but you also can't drive cart in a-spec or b-spec but in split-screen you can use cart so I think F1 will also be able to race others cars in split-screen . I never seen conformation of it and I don't have F1's myself yet , but if you have them can you test them also . ( Sorry for my english , not first language ) .

Can I suggest Special Stage Route 7 for the top speed test. It's much less bumpy than La Sarthe and really enables you to max out the car.
