How is this cheating?
This method is not fool-proof though, sometimes the X2010 will spin out and go the wrong direction etc.

But I believe this can be solved with some tweaks to the car's settings 👍
 
This method is a fail, I was grinding away late yesterday night with my X1 on the Indy, and after about the 5th spin out from dozing off I thought I'd try this rubbing the wall the whole race.

As shown in the video you come off the wall on the straights every time, eventually you come off so much you go straight back into the wall and spin out, so when you wake up in the morning and you car has been driving backward for 6 hours, lol.

That I doubt, the Indy has enough of a bank you will come off the wall on the straights every time. You even hit the wall dividing the pits when going across the line.

really? I will try with Skid Recovery turned On and maybe a tad bit more downforce..whatever it takes to keep the X2010 from spinning on impact..
 
This used to work in the old games at the super speedway with the escudo pikes peak, remember grinding the 100lapper with it, kinda pointless though to be honest.
 
If you have to resort to things like this in a game, that means game design is fundamentally flawed.

for me fun means that I DON'T have to grind for several days (on a freaking oval) to get a specific car or enough XP to get to the next level...but thats just me

I understand where you're coming from, but to me.. FUN in GT5 is owning all the cars I can only dream of ever owning in real life, tuning it up, customize it to my liking, take pretty photos of it, take it down to my favourite track and do the best I can on that track.

Unfortunately in GT5, the only way to accomplish that is through "grinding"...
 
This wont work all the time, i tryed something else on the indy 500,
i drove a while on my own than i sticked the analog to the controller to keep my speed, at the beginning t worked,
but after 5 minutes when i came back the car drove in the wrong direction!
On another try the car spun und couldnt get a straight line again....so this is a useless option for me!
 
guys, i managed to get this to work for 3-hours w/o any incident, after fiddling with the settings abit.

will leave it on overnight and see what happens in the morning

You did 3 hours of A Spec grinding in a automated way without any manual intervention? Could you explain how you managed to do this please?
 
I have been doing this too. The car will get turned into the wall occasionally but it's gone for several hours with no problem. I just check on it now and then. My aspec is at 31 and it just takes way too long any other way.
 
Haha I love this, 29.5 here but reckong after I done the last 5 endurances and the vettel crap I'll have a crakc at this. No way on earth I am going to grind my way to 40 with 100+ hours driving just for the sake of exp and money. I aint no freaking chinese wow gold farmer ! Stupid Stupid Stupid game design to begin with, doing all challenges and a bit should grant you max level, both A and B spec.
 
The one thing you didn't think about is the damage your doing to your car. You will eventually need to do a Frame re-fresher and your bill won't be cheap. Keep doing this and you will keep losing money.
