Just logged in, read the news, and this looked kinda interesting.

"Additionally, we will kick off the start of GT Driver's Club, a series of exclusive race events with unique requirements and special prizes...."

Also, seasonal events will now be updated every Wednesday, around 10a EST for the US.

Sounds like fun! Wonder if this now means a form of leaderboards.

When you intitially log into GT5, before you select GT Life, there's a news feed in the upper right hand corner.
"Gran Turismo News."

Or, as they say in hockey, "Top shelf, where momma hides the Halloween candy"

The post reads: "Schedule Update: Seasonal Events"
 
Just thought about this, but hopefully the online UCD will be updated weekly too. Wonder if PD increased its staff, or if someone just got a LOT busier. Whatever the case, I'll take it!

Heard it while watchin my team, the Avalanche, play and laughed. Hockey has some of the best analogies in all of sports.
 
Can anyone elaborate exactly what this is? Will these leader boards be similar to the time
trials? Or will they give xp and be focused more like gt academy rather then seasonal time trials. I'm very curious as to know what's up

It says in the news feed that it's a series of race events with unique requirements and special prizes. That's all we know for now.

If you read the news on the game, nothing has been officially announced. Leaderboards aren't yet a fact, so let's not jump the gun. As stated in the announcement, more details are to come.

It'll be nice if the prizes are more premium cars, but as of yet who knows how it's gonna work.

Leave it to PD to tease us...
 
I think it will be a great feature. Also it launches feb 2nd and we are also waiting for a update wich I think will be the same day. My best guess would be that it is for cars that are rare such as the merc 190 evolution 2 and Shelby gt 350

i have the EU version it doesnt says anything about drivers club..
it just says look out for special events

Well, I don't know about you, but on my game case it specifically says "Leaderboards and Matchmaking." In the instructions too. So either it is a fact, or a terrible case of false advertising.

I imagine so, along with tire restricitons. It mentioned rewards, so I wonder what they've got planned. More credits, or more cars? I'll take one of each!!!
 
I don't really know what the special events and prizes would entail, but the name always intrigued me.
GT Drivers Club to me would be a series of insane challenges much like what we saw in the unforgettable Driving Missions of GT4.
It would be fantastic to see a premier area of some kind at the home menu.
 
This would've been pretty cool and yet another promise left unfulfilled by PD.
They bite more than they can chew and then underperform and that's what it makes the whole thing rather disappointing.
 
I believe the GT Drivers club turned out to be the seasonals. Nothing more, nothing less. Oh, and awesome how this thread got revived more then a year later with zero new info. That's not OK according to forum guidelines.
