This is the single most ridiculous thing in the game.

Example a:
Bob is outta tires so he decides to pit in. When he goes inside the window appears suggesting tires and 22 litres of gas. He does the pit stop and when he is out of the pits he hasn't added gas. Now he needs to go in the pits again for gas which could have been avoided in the 1st place. it also continues with next example

Example b:
Bob is outta gas so he decides to pit in. Always when it's 1 white dot left on the tank. If he pits with 1 white dot he will not add gas at all. If you are lucky enough to have a long track and he managed to enter the 1 red dot left in the tank you are lucky he is gonna fill up the tank with the reccomended ammount. BUT watch out here comes example c which can happen often:

Example c: Bob has just refilled with the required gas ( lets say 50%) and once he goes out of pits he will want to pit in again and this time he will fill the tank completely even though it may still not be needed to complete the race. And if it gets worse he can get stuck and pitting every round just cuz(example d)!

I have witnessed all the above many many times. The problem is that you have to press ok in the window when entering the pits. This is a bug of course cuz you should be good without pressing ok since they already have suggested they correct ammount.

Most BOBs are tools but i reckon this was Gas Man Gary's fault. He saw bob and stood their for a minute thinking "hmmm, should i fill him up?" then BOB screams at him on the way back in and Gary is left saying "Stupid BOB, yell at me? I'm going to tell you to pit every lap after this you A**hole.." Example A, B & C answered in 1 post... Not bad ay?

Yep my Bobs all do this as well when pit strategy is off, however i find if pit strategy is set to 10% it stops this from happening for some reason.

I've never seen this before.

The most annoying thing that as happened is either they pit on the second to last lap (and then lose) or when entering the pits, fall out of the pit lane and back onto the race track (like around the last corner at tsukuba) and the pit options box disappears, and then bob pulls back into the pit lane and the pointer is on the screen with an invisable menu. Very annoying!!! This can also happen in A-spec if you charge into the pits.

I noticed something similar on the Laguna Seca 200 mile endurance race in A-Spec. I had specifically picked a slow car to ensure a close race, only for the second place car to pit twice, one lap after the other and leave me literally miles ahead. It ruined all competition for that race which I had already invested over an hour into. If I didn't want a competitive race I would have just used an LMP car and finished it around 40 minutes quicker.

I can't say if the second place car was the only one to pit twice in the race, but he was the only one I was focused on. Anyway, thats some really bad coding that totally ruined the only good aspect to an endurance race. Thanks a lot PD.

Happens a lot but how can you tell in a 9 or 24 hours race? You cant be on the screen all the time to see what's he doing

I'm at level 40 and have never seen this either.

What I have seen is 10hrs or so into the 24hrs of Le Mans the the computer's AI will pit every lap simply because they're tired. They do the driver change, top up the fuel tanks, put on new tires, and come in the very next lap because the new driver is also exhausted. And again and again.

If you're doing Le Mans and it remains mostly dry, you can win without a fast car. I won by 7 laps in a stock Toyota GT-ONE even though it had a 250hp disadvantage.

i have not seen any of this. my bobs always pit for tyres and fuel at the same time.

for the indy500 i left the ps3 running with the enter key permanently pressed on a USB keyboard. pit strategy turned off and the driver instruction was set pace-up. even when all strength and mental strength was gone the drivers were only about 2seconds slower then the fastest lap and they never crashed. they would only pit whenever gas or tyres ran out and they would pit for both. i used the toyota 88C-V turbo upgrade to 1040hp on 850KG. needless to say i killed it with a 10lap lead.
for b-spec i cheat and play dirty as ****. i gave up on my bobs. all 6 have maxed out experience yet continue to do the dumbest ****.

@Sander
that was happening to me in the suzuka 1000km. 40%pit strategy but my bobs were completely exhausted and pitting every other lap to change the driver. so i turned off pit startegy then they pitted only when they needed new tyres or gas. i was in the 88C-V with 1040hp so i did end up winning with an 8lap lead.

edit: sorry for the language but b-spec brings out the worst in me.

To me, the whole B-sepc seems ridiculously unpolished and frustrating in the beginning. Sure it gets better, but it is so freaking annoying in the beginning that I have no desire to get to a higher level.
