Step 1: Saving fastest lap.

After you have achieved a clean laptime, save the replay using the 'Save Best Lap Replay' option, as indicated in the screenshot.
picture.php

Step 2: Exporting replay data to XMB
Go to the replay library and move your arrow to the Best Lap Replay you saved in the previous step.
Then press triangle and chose the option 'Export Save Data'

Now the game asks if you're sure a couple of times, so just reply with pressing X until the replay starts saving. When it's done it'll say 'Save Completed'. Be sure to write down the number at the beginning of the file name, so that you can easily find it in the XMB and later on your USB stick.
Press O to go back to the game.

picture.php

Step 3: Copying to USB stick or memory card

To do this step you have to quit the game. In the XMB, go to the 'Saved Data Utility (PS3)' in the 'Game' column.

In the following list, go to the 'GRAN TURISMO 5' folder. In this folder, go to the replay file you exported in the previous step. It can easely be recognised by the starting number.

Important! Pay attention to the driver name and make sure it's your GTP_ PSN id.

If you haven't plugged in your USB stick or card, do this now.
Press triangle and select copy. Now select your USB stick or card and press X.
The replay will now be copied to your memory device.

If there already was a replay on your memory device with the same name, the PS3 will ask you if you want to overwrite that replay. If you still need that replay, be sure to copy it on your PC before continuing.

Step 4: Preparing replay for uploading

This step will take place on your PC.
Plug in your memory device and copy the PS3 folder to your computer, for example to my documents.
Now open up the PS3 folder on your computer. Make sure that there is only a folder name 'SAVEDATA'. If there are other folders, delete them.

Now open the 'SAVEDATA' folder. Look for a folder that ends with -RPL### (example for EU PAL version: BCES00569-RPL001)
The ending number is the same number you previously used to identify the replay.
If there are other folders listed, delete those, so that only the replay folder remains.

Now back out of the PS3 folder (to my documents if you copied it there)
Right click on the PS3 folder and chose 'Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder'
If you have another program to compress the folder, you can use that to, but please save it as a .zip so that everyone can unzip it.
Please rename the zip file to GTP_name_Qualifier.zip for example.

Now the replay is ready to be sent/uploaded

Step 5: Uploading zipped replay to site

Important! This step is for uploading the replay to the site. If you have to send it in an email, you just have to add the ZIP file to your email as an attachment.

Go to the Results thread of the week you entered in.
Now click on the 'Go advanced' button.
In the following screen, type some relevant text (for example: Here is my NTSC replay.)
Be sure to include the game region in the text.
Now click on 'Manage Attachments' in the 'Additional Options' panel.
A pop-up opens. Now click on the first browse button.
Find your zipped file and press open. Now click on 'Upload'.
Now wait until the file is uploaded and listed in Current Attachments.
After this you can close the pop-up window.
You should be able to see the zip file listed above the 'Manage Attachments' button.
After this you can click on Submit Replay and you're finished 👍

When you go to the picture in your album in GT5 you press
36041687.jpg
and choose export to XMB.

73741653.jpg

Once that is done, you leave GT5 and go to your photo albums in the PS3 menu. Search for the desired picture and again press
36041687.jpg
.

50569052.jpg

Select copy and then select your USB memory stick.

74567375.jpg

The picture is now on your USB stick.
Now it's time to upload it onto your PC. You can find your picture on your USB stick under the folder 'PICTURE'.
Once that is done, you need to register in www.imageshack.us OR www.photobucket.com.
These are two sites where you can upload pictures to.

Here's 'how to' via Imageshack(1) and Photobucket(2).
  1. Once your account is made here and the picture is uploaded you will find that picture in your album 'My Images'.
Click 'share it'. It's the little 'info pic'

    12219043.jpg

And then just copy and paste the link which is selected here, into your post.

    77955438.jpg

  2. Go to your Album when you uploaded the picture in photobucket.

    30887129.jpg

And just hover with your mouse over the picture you want to add in your post.
This box appears and all you need to do is left-click on the code where it says 'IMG code'.
Once clicked you will see 'copied', now you can paste it in your post.

    23756409.jpg
That's it, your picture is now viewable in the thread. :)

I know this must seem a lot of work now but once everything is set up (making the accounts etc.), it's not such a big deal.

PS: You can always give it a try by clicking 'go advanced' in a PM or post and take the preview. ;)

How to download and view/check a replay.

    • You will see this in a certain post.

      28363360.jpg

Once you clicked this, you will automatically download the replay to your PC.
      OR
    • You are looking at the leaderboard and see an unchecked replay.

      23343458.jpg

I'm showing on w-g-e's replay now but this one has been checked already.
Spot n° 5, replay from UsualSuspect isn't as shown by the question mark.
    • Clicking on the far right icon, circled in picture above, brings you here.

      72913611.jpg

Click the download button to download the replay.

  1. Now you need to find the downloaded replay on your PC.
Default, it will be in your 'downloads' folder.
    This is a zipped file.

    14361827.jpg

Right click on it and chose 'extract files'

  2. You will have created a new folder.

    46588155.jpg

  3. Go into the new created folder by double clicking it untill you find this.

    87726118.jpg

It is possible to find these folders inside. 'PS3' -> 'SAVEDATA'
    PAL replays are BCES00569-RPL...
    NTSC replays are BCUS98114-RPL...

Copy the replay onto your USB Memory stick.
In the folders 'PS3' -> 'SAVEDATA'. Circled in the picture above.

  4. Now put your USB stick in your PS3 and go to 'Saved Data Utility (PS3)'.

    17550985.jpg

Go to the replay you need, press
    36041687.jpg
    and chose copy.
Your PS3 will now copy the file from your USB stick.
  5. And now finally we can go into GT5.
Once you find yourself in your GT life, go to the replay library.
    50272093.png

    Go to 'import'
    32555608.jpg

    48885323.jpg

Chose the replay you want to import into GT5 and hit
    playstationbuttonx.png

The replay is now being imported and once it's done, it's ready for review.
