Lexus LFA: What am I missing?

I decided to buy the LFA just for the hell of it. Man that car stinks. I didn't do any upgraded. What's so hot about that car? I'm sure if I threw some Sports Soft or Racing tires on it I would like it better but if it comes with Sports Hard then I'd like to see what it does in stock form. Nothing to write home about.

It's an immense car tbf to it. But again, as with all cars in the game, it's a matter of personal preference. I really like it as stock. And it sounds like God himself.
You'd never pay like £375,000 for a bloody Lexus in real life though. :D

Really for the price, it's not going to live up to what it should be. However, if you look at it for what it is... its a pretty cool car. Its the first production V-10 Japan has ever made... im pretty sure of that. Not to mention it has more gizmos than a GT-R... and THAT IS SAYING SOMETHING! The reason it is so expensive is because Lexus spent SOOOOO much money developing it. The funny thing is, at the amount the are charging, they say they still wont even make a profit on it. You're pretty much paying for the parts and labor to build it. Sounds like they are going to have to eat a lot of the R and D costs.

Put some Sports Soft tyres on it and it is amazing. It handles beautifully and sounds incredible! One of my favourite cars around the Nordschleife

I have a rather conservative tune for it available if you want to try it, tuned for Sport Medium/Softs; I did find the Sport Hard a bit difficult to use with the car. Just click my sig link to find it.

Nissan re-invented the gtr as the current gtr, They set the 911 turbo as the target and got it.

Toyota re-invented the supra as the supra, Then the whole project and design team was moved over to lexus and it became the lfa and got a little out of hand. lexus aimed for the 599xx as a target and from everything ive heard. The lfa will stand up to one. Pretty damn impressive for a company that hasnt made a true sports car in over 5 years if you ask me :)

Yes, it is a bit expensive, but for the performance figures it has its a good car. Its the general experience of it, and the sound is insane.

It is a car you buy for the paint chips.
It isn't bad on SS tires.
Any car over 500hp is poor with SHs, imo.
Braking distance is a half mile.

It's a good car on a flat curcuit, but it has no downforce (that raising rear spoiler hardly helps) so it's a handful on bumpy tracks.

I assume you have not seen the top gear episode on the LFA. They pretty much come to the same conclusion as you. 400,000 for something marginally better than a GTR but at a 300,000 premium.

Its still an awesome car, kinda like the new Lancia Stratos. 500,000 for a Ferrari 430 with a body kit but I'm sure they are already all sold out just like the LFA is.

I doubt it touches the 599xx, and it shouldn't as the 599xx is a track car. I think it is closest to the Italia in terms of Ferrari.

I'm with you. If I had that kind of money, and wanted something that performed similarly, I'd save alot and buy a GT-R, and then go buy a 458 Italia for the weekends as well, lol.

Before anyone jumps and says I'm a BMW fan, I'm not thinking about that.

I despise the car a lot even the sound that so many people rave about.
I bought and drove it around Nurburgring then traded it for an 458 italia.

Lexus weren't targeting any particular car with the LFA, and if they were it certainly wouldn't be the 599xx. The LFA is a statement, Lexus are not worried if it is 1,2 or 20 seconds slower than anything else around the Nordschleife because that wasn't the point of the car.

In isolation the LFA is fast, beautiful and innovative. It's an indication of what the brand can do and a glimpe of what we can expect to see in the future

If you ask me the lexus lfa is my favourite supercar built so far in the new decade. The car looks stunning like something that purely came out of a video game, and the v10 at the heart of the machine, is probably the best performing 10 cylinder engine ever built - next to audi's v10 from the r8.
The car is light and composed on easy to drive to the inexperienced due to the engine being mounted at the front rather than behind the driver. The interior is beautiful, the aerodynamics are perfect, it does exactly as it should do perfectly - but it comes at a price.
You could argue that a 599 is faster round a track and has a more desirable and prestigious image, but its flawed in many ways. People should look past the badge of the lfa and give it some respect as it is truly a feat of engineering.

not quite the 599XX, more the 599 GTB HGTE. the only cars that compete in the same class as the 599XX (high-end production based track cars) are the original FXX (no longer sold), the maserati MC12 corsa (the maserati equivalent of the FXX, basically an MC12 GT1 with no livery. also no longer sold) and the zonda R.

I never got the LFA either...for all its amazing engineering and undeniably fantastic performance, I never really saw anything in it. The first time I saw it was on Top Gear, and I just kind of went "...meh". I'd rather have a 599, if only because it is a Ferrari, but the 599 is a hell of a fun car to drive in the game.

Yeah, i kinda agree. The LFA missing is the speed and downforce. The first time i drove the car it's just unbelievable slow compare to the other in the class.

BUT, the car itself are just awesome. The sound, the sexy look, cool interior looks.
I've yet to tune it to tier 3. Can't wait to see how fast it'll go.
It's definitely in my top 5 most favourite car list. 👍

yea, i was a bit surprised at how bad it is. it understears horribly around corners.

finally another person that appreciates cars!! i thought i was alone, the number of times someone comes on and says, "this car is the best car ever! i put racing softs on it and im really surprised at how well it handles!!"

You forgot the S85 V10 from BMW :sly:

I need to drive mine more. Got it from a car ticket. :)

PD should allow us to RM it though. The LFAs didn't do too badly at last year's Nurburgring 24h.

Just checked you sig and I guess I'll try one of your "Specs" out. But since they require better tires I'll try that first and see. Alot of things about the car feel so wrong. You need to send a telegram to your brakes that you're about to stop in the next few miles, but when you do the car acts like "Why'd you brake so soon?" you figure you can go in deeper the next time around, wind up in the dirt and the car's like "Damn bro you shudda put the brakes on right there".

It's a beautiful car. The Japanese again show us they can create extremely special cars that can compare to european's finest... :)

In the game, however, it's not that special... yeah, it sounds awesome, but it's a little bit of a letdown... even fully tuned... or maybe I tuned it the wrong way :ouch:

Anyway... you should have one... it will look good on anyone's garage :)

I like the LFA, up to a point, but I think it's main problems are too much weight and not enough torque. Together they make for a frustrating experience.

In a straight line though, the noise is pretty epic...
