Ok, here are my most recent findings in the ever ending question of which F1 car is the fastest on Test Course.

The cars are listed by their power output, so the most powerful car is first (F686/M), and the least powerful is last (F090/S)

The tests were done in a controlled fashion, I put an elastic band on the right analog stick to make sure each car had a fair shot and acceleration would be equal, also I had minimum downforce, 0 toe and camber settings, and no TCS or ASM on the cars.

- F686/M

In conclusion, it wasn't a surprise to me that the F094/S was the fastest accelerating car, and the F686/M was the fastest
top speed car, but the F094/S surprised me with it's top speed, I didn't think it would make it over 235mph. And yet again
no surprise, the F090/S is the slowest car in all but one test.

I hope this helped some people. :)

What about the 094/H ????????

Some on here complain that it's not as fast as the 094/S!

You gotta try it too!

  :odd:

Oh...and thanks for doing the test and providing results! Way cool~!

Oh I just figured it would be the same since it has the EXACT specs.

No way that's true in real life...:odd: :irked:

Actually it's perfectly right ;) Let me explain

The FIA state that a Formula One car has to be no less than 600kg with driver, and fluids. So obviously the cars are going to be almost identical in weight, because every bit of weight means you're going that little bit slower. So even in real life the cars are pretty much the same weight. It's just like in NASCAR, they madate that the cars have to weigh 3400lbs, and the LMP900 cars that race at LeMans have to weigh 900kg, see what I mean?

Good point...keep the plyaing field level in that respect...

Can't wait to see what you find in the 094/H...it will be great to either pour fire on the speculation of the 094/S being faster than the 094/H or end the discussion all together.

My GUESS is that you are correct...that they are identical.

We shall see!

:odd:👍:)

Done, and I think it's pretty safe to say that they are identical, at least in straight lines, the difference in times was probably driver error (me shifting a millisecond too soon or something).

Oh of course, but in a long race on that track in the Formula GT you want the F686/M cuz it is just that much faster, acceleration means nothing in that race cuz you're either drafting or blocking, so you want all the power you can get.

Hey Majarvis, you are the man.

This write up alone is definitely worth having you around. I am very glad to see that a member has joined that can contribute to the discussions.

You are very popular in my book now, because I can see you aren't an idiot.

Now that I know what kind of member you are I can now say: Welcome to GTPlanet Majarvis.

:embarrassed: I'm flattered, thanks! I just did it cuz I was kind of curious myself and figured I'd publish it, I'm glad people appreciate what I did :D You're cool too man, hopefully people will refer to this thread time and time again, and hopefully it will stay one the front page so people can see.

Uhm, with the F094/S, I get ahead of the pack within the first lap. By the second lap I'm up at least 4-5 seconds. My first pit comes a lap before the next closest competitor, but I still come out ahead.

Excuse me all of you, but there is a customization option for your car to increase the gear ratios of your car to make it go faster.

Well if ya ask me i prefer the f 094 S because iv set faster times in it at more twistyer tracks . And i have also goten a f 094 H to go 400+ mph with the help of a hp mod code but there was still some tuning involved. anyways i like all the f1 cars and the can all out handel any other car on the game! :)

Hey would u guy happen to know if there really is a lamborghini on this game? iv been playing i for a very long time and have never seen one. ive even won the 78 lap enduro a monaco (i knoew thats not what its called in the game but thats what is is in real life) that would really be cool if it was!:D

No DJT theres no lamborghini in the game exept in the us version but the u hav to download sum files to ur shark port bla bla bla ..and hehe plese dont brag bout the 78 mistral cuz most of us here won every endurance race;) ;)

im not braging i heard it was a prise car there but that was just another crap code but i got one with the shark port
and by the way id have all the longer races done if i could just get the crapin disc to quit locking up every other race
and any way im happy with what ive won
i had at one time a game of mine with over 600 wins and that was a long time ago so if my game wouldent have goten crap up id have around uh i dont know it would bet quit alot i cant even play gts because of my disc and no its not scratched and iv had TWO yep TWO of the things
i cant wait for the psx and gt4 to come out

Thats interesting, a maximum wieght

In Go-karting you have a minimum weight, course thats probably cause a 100 lb kid VRs a 200 pound guy on the cart with the same hp (maybe around 13), who would win :D

hey Game Boy where are you geting maximum weight from?

Majarvis is talking about minimum weight.
In the JGTC they add weight to the top finishers to even out the playing field.

I think something to note with all of these cars is tirewear. If I remember correctly (as I'm not in front of my PS2 right now), you can't buy any tires for any of the f1 cars. Yet, from my experience with the game, some go through tires faster than others. This is an important thing to notice since most people typically use these cars for the longer races (especially the annoying test course races; as much as I love the sound of a good v10, it gets annoying around the end of the first corner!). From my experience it seems that the F/090s seems to have among the best performance on its tires and that is most of the battle in the F1 class races. The longer you stay alive regardless of a few milleseconds per lap, the better off you are against other players. Generally speaking anyway.

It's too bad my PS2 seems to have died. :( But I'll be getting a new one soon, that and a PSP hopefullly. :) Until then, I only have three years of experience to go by.
