Solved đź‘Ť (posting for future reference).

Hi,
I cannot seem to end a remote race. The race had begun prior to the server maintenance so I can only assume it is something to do with that.

When logged in to eu.Gran-Turismo.com, if I click on the blue 'Remote Race' bar I can see (in the resulting popup window) my race taking place - always about 15 mins 20 sec's in to the race with the timer running but I'm still on the 1st lap of a 10 x lap Suzuka race.

If I close the remote race 'live-view' window, then reopen it, I am back to the 15 min 20 sec point, again on the 1st lap, which never changes.

I've tried:
  • logging out of Gran-turismo.com
  • clearing my browser cache (doubtful but worth a try)
  • closing and restarting Yonis' Widget which I often use (doubtful but worth a try)
  • logging out of, and back into, the PSN on my PS3 (doubtful but worth a try)
  • quiting and restarting GT5
  • changing all my Bob's status' from Online to Offline, checking, then setting them back to Online
  • starting the remote server via GT5 Community
  • starting a new remote race manually via GT5 Community - worked 2nd time of trying.

Almost None of the above have worked to stop/refresh the remote race.

I am currently running a B-Spec race so there's no way I can have the Remote Server running.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. :indiff:
Thank you.

Got it - had to set all drivers to Offline, set 1 x back to Online, then start a remote race manually - which I don't often do (posting this anyway for future reference). đź‘Ť

I've come across this, too.
Unfortunately, I turned off my system and now I'm facing an error:

"connection to the server could not be established (ID = 1:531)" at the points when the game usually tries to connect to the GT servers.

Thanks to this, when I get to the GT Life screen, I can't take my drivers offline.
So I'll never be able to go online with GT5 again until Polyphony solves the issue.. and there's NO WAY to get in touch with them to inform them of it.

This is bogus.

Is this an old known issue that they haven't acknowledged? I've been having it since about a week after Christmas, and haven't been able to find a work-around anywhere on the net.

So you're saying I'm REALLY never ever going to be able to go online again?
SERIOUSLY?!

I can theoretically NEVER EVER get online on GT5 again?!

Good news!
I'VE FOUND A FIX FOR THE ONES WITH ERROR ID = 1:531

It's apparently as easy as changing your DNS server. You have to go into your router's settings and change it, though.
But it DID fix my error. I thought I was never going to be able to fix it.. ever.

So to any of those that have been having the issue since Christmas as I've heard, change your DNS server.
Of course it's sad that you need such a serious measure as this, but it works.

Wenuden, if you need any help changing your DNS settings on your router, just let me know. I can walk you through it since I'm an electronics geek. :D

Changing the DNS is out of the question and unacceptable. This is not a fix, is an unsecure workaround. Only Sony (Polyphony Digital) can provide a fix and that can only be done by coding, on the game or server... whatever one it is I don't care to be honest.

An issue that was around in December at the latest going on this thread, and not being fixed despite several updates is poor. PD needs to stop adding new seasonal challenges and start fixing the problems in game.

I truly hope it was not Sony who said to change the DNS because that would be extremely irresponsible.
