Hilarious Remote Racing

I've recently had more appreciation for the remote racing and it's simply for the humor of it.

I've made other comments about how I like to watch because this way I actually get to look at the scenery. This morning, however, was not for the scenery. It was 4:45am and I was working late (or early depending on how you look at it). I decided to watch a couple of races while the servers chugged my commands along. What I found was a remote race like none other.

In it, there was an orange car and for the life of me I can't remember what because of the sleep deprivation. This particular car, driver unknown, would go from 16th to 10th or so and then CRASH straight into the wall and back to 16th again. When I say he was crashing straight into the wall, I don't mean over steering a turn, or failing at cornering or something like that. I literally watched him, on a near straight away, turn almost on a dime for no reason, dodging an invisible squirrel I am sure, slam straight into the nearest barrier at a near 90 degree angle to the track.

I was laughing so hard I almost woke my fiancee. Anyone else seen their bobs dodging invisible animals on the track?

Mine always spins his NASCAR to swerve and miss a deer 2 turns before the tunnel at (Grand Valley?). Was Mullering the competition, first place on lap one, get to that turn and he decides that either
A. He has re-named himself T. Foust or K. Block -or-
B. There was a Deer (Moose, whatever your respective road-roaming large creature is in your area) and he thus had to spin a 180, get hit by half the cars till he was off-track, and then politely wait for the rest to go by before resuming his journey.

Additionally, in the last complex of turns before the Straight, he can hold the slides pretty well, as if his name changed again to J. Clarkson, I think i can hear the word "POOOOOWWWWWEEERRRRRRRRRRR" being yelled inside the cockpit

hehe, My Bob likes to drift in the Grandvalley Nascar event too. It's hilarious to watch, because he is the only one to drift the double S, prior entry to tunnel. Everyone else drives like civil servants. Mine has a need for speed.

This morning, I hosted a 16 player LaSarthe, and the CPU Mazda 787 kept losing traction and caused pileups every 3 minutes.

The Laguna Seca event can get pretty out of hand with a bunch of hot tempered 0 level bobs.

There were especially three events in which my Bob or the pit crew did strange things (mostly, when I was not watching for a moment).

1. A race of the extreme series (it was one of the formula GT races, I believe): Bob was leading by at least 10 sec in the last round when I thought it was okay to leave him alone. I knew the tires were almost down, but the pit was just as close as the finish line. What did Bob do? He drove into the pit to change the tires even though he could have crossed the finish line in the same moment. That was hard to believe! He then did not even leave the pit and was finally 4th.

2. This one happened during the first race of the formula GT event. Warned by what happened to me before (see 1.) I stayed with my Bob to change the diapers occasionally. In the second last round, he was ahead by more than one round, his health (both) was okay and the tires were still very good. Therefore I thought I could leave for a moment to grab a beer in the kitchen. When I came back, Bob was just leaving the pit. It must have been the gas. When he left the pit, he was still in leading position by one round. What happened in last round? About 40 feet distance from the finishing line the gas was completely down and the car was just sitting on the course. All other cars passed by and Bob could not even finish the race.

3. This is something a few of you might have encountered already in the British lightweight race, Top Gear course. One of the other fellows hit me in the side of my car in one of the places where the roads cross. By then I was leading by half a round. The other car hit me so hard that it pushed my car out of my track into the other track so that I suddenly was in the last place.

Well, there are a few other hilarious events, but these ones were the most frustrating.

I think the most entertaining Remote Races were those where I had 16 Lv (Class) 0 drivers taking part.

Novice drivers are always entertaining. I usually run the Le Mans race for the drivers I am using, and invariably there is some novice that goes racing by just before the "bus stops" on the Mulsanne straight (or at the end of the straight) and proceed to rush into the sand.

Where there is a large run off area you can usually guarantee some Novice will make full use of it.
