So, I'm selling one of my cameras, my Nikon D40 to be more precise. It's the kit version, so the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED II lens is included. That's more or less the standard lens for every camera, 18-55mm is quite versatile and will fit all your needs if you don't want to do macro photography or zoom in from 100m away. I suggest getting an SDHC card with at least 8GB, so that you're safe and sound when you're out and about - a 4GB one will take up to 500 pictures in JPEG + RAW mode and highest quality possible.

You can find the tech specs right here: http://bit.ly/hwCTBM
Also a description of the features right here: http://bit.ly/fqjPK5
And, last but not lest, some reviews: http://bit.ly/UmXVV & http://bit.ly/42og9l

It's the whole kit minus the eyepiece cap and body cap, which you won't need anyway until you get a second lens - and those parts are included anyway with those lenses if you buy them separately. The software CD suddenly stopped working, no scratches etc. - you can, however, simply download the software from Nikon.com. I doubt that the version on the CD would work with Windows 7 anyway.

I'll also include a Nikon HB37 bayonet lens hood, since I have a spare one. You can't put it on the included lens but it'll fit on most Nikon telezoom ones and it'll save you 10-15 Euros. I also highly suggest letting a certified technician clean the mirrors etc. inside the camera - I did that some time ago but it's just so you have a clean start and it won't cost more than 10-20 Euros.

It's a really great camera for beginners and intermediates. Check out pictures taken with said camera @ flickr: http://bit.ly/mcP0U.

I'm open for offers and won't ask for the horrible amounts that people on eBay ask (250-300 Pounds, WTF!?) but please be fair. Poke me via PM and we'll make a deal - the item is located in Paris, France. So you can either pick it up in person or have me send it (insured, of course) to you, whatever suits you better.

I really don't want to see it lying around, it's just (still) too good to be left more or less unused. :)

I'd ship it but I guess it'd be a little bit expensive. :\
