Hi everybody, this is my tuning garage! Hey!!!:dunce:
I like to tune old bad 🤬 cars (but modern cars are not excluded from tuning!) and try to make them easier to drive and faster at the same time,....
Ehhhhm what should I say?..(very uncreative)........
Here are the tunes:

Note:

-The first couple cars are only tuned offline, caused through the big PSN downtime last year.

Plus some updates might have messed up a few of my old tunes.

I'll retune them if requested. It would be great when you could give me feedback if a tune works online or not.


-The patch 1.10 changed the available ranges of the single gear ratios. That's why a couple transmission settings of my old tunes can't be set like I wrote.

Ok, here's my tune.
The goal was to make it as fast and manageable as possible.
The result is an easy (:) it's a Yellowbird!) car to drive and the laptimes are just unbelievable low.

The Yellowbird is one of the most difficult cars in GT5. Could you tell me how much better the tune is compared with stock, cause your comment isn't helpful.

Your transmission is geared too high for general purposes. It'll be fine on a smaller track, but anything with a straight longer than the Autumn Ring and you'll lose alot of time for maxing out too early. And your braking sensitivity is much too low. With that set if you try braking into a corner while your car is off balance it'll go around on you.

Ok ! i've try your Cobra, it's good very stable, less at the brake (balance??) .Your LSD is right in the middle , very good, i use it on my tune now . I run same time with both at deep forest, 1'12"700. fast for this mad car....

You think it's geared to high? I don't. And why do you think it's good for smaller tracks? This car has enough power (around 740hp) to run 380 kph on a long straight!
But hey there's a super easy solution: increase the final gear.

Braking sensitivity? Your talking about the LSD right? Well I've seen your tune with an astronomical 53 and in my opinion a lower decel works much better. I had no prob with the brake balance 8/4 (could it be that you forgot to set the brake balance?)

EDIT: Have you ever tried my setup or do you only suspect it?

Ok again, less stable at the brake. You say the LSD is good but the brake stability bad? Brake balance (8/4) or the LSD 16? I'm surprised, cause I never had problems while braking. Maybe I should test it again.

I did, try it, and maybe its just my driving style, but the low Braking Sensitivity just kept killing me going into off balance corners. I did find that a 6/4 balance reduced locking and I actually stopped quicker.

With the gearing I kept maxing out 3/4 down the straights, though I'll admit it was nice to that that little boost in acceleration through the infield. I've just come to the conclusion myself that losing a little bit there is worth gaining the high end, and it makes shifting a lot less chaotic for me.

More chaotic as in more shifting. For me at least I run faster when I run something like 205mph set with a 3.6 final so the shift points are still close to the same, but there is a little bit better acceleration. I like to be able to run say the esses in Deep Forest in 3rd instead of having to shift back and forth the whole way through with the shorter gearing

I just found my own Yellowbird in the used car market and am planning to prep it for the Nordschleife 6-minute challenge on Sport Hard tires. (Yes, I must have a masochistic side to invest time in such a hopeless project :sly:)

I am definitely gonna start with your tune since it makes the most sense to me of all the ones available in the Project Blackbird thread.

If you're up to it: What would you change in your setup to adapt this beast to the 'ring? Thank in advance for any information you can give me. I'll be sure to mention your work IF i happen to break the barrier … if not it'll still be interesting to see how what is possible with this car + setup + track combo.

Well, I would raise the ride height a little bit and soften the springs. Transmission should be changed too. If you can wait till wednesday, I'll tune it for you (no time....).

Honestly, I don't believe that this car would ever drive under 7min (with this configuration above, of course:)).
I tried everything to get it faster, but I was far away to beat the 7min. I was so desperated that I tested every other YB tune I know (RJ,Praiano,No_obst33r,Adrenaline), but no chance they weren't faster.

If it were a 8min challenge, I would think: no prob man, let's do it!
But 7min? Forget it!

I'm really sorry about this.:nervous:
 
Yes, my times are around 8min. (I drove only 1 fast lap per tune, cause it's hopeless)
Maybe I could run a 7.45 or with a perfect round a7.30, but under 7min? Never!
 
Alright, was a dumb idea then. Sorry for the waste of time. Somehow I remembered how in GT4 some people would do 7:45's on N2's in a Ruf BTR, and that was only with the Arcade Mode Tuning options ... so I figured with the extra downforce etc. it might not be completely out of reach but still a spectacular goal.

Downforce? It's sad but this car has zero downforce and you can't buy an extra wing in the gt shop.:(
I think you mean the BTR (areodynamic available) and not the CTR Yellowbird.

You could try my CTR YB tune on a BTR with max. Downforce
