I have it dialed in perfectly, been playing all day and these settings work great. Very precise steering and good FF. You can make the game feel really, really bad or completely unplayable if you set these wrong.
FF-
Vibration Strength- 100%
Wheel Strength- 100%
Wheel Weight- 30%
Wheel options-
Steering Deadzone- 0%
Steering Saturation- 100%
Steering Linearity- 0
Throttle Deadzone- 0%
Throttle Saturation- 100%
Brake Deadzone- 0%
Brake Saturation- 100%
**EDIT** June 9, 2011: (I actually noticed this a while ago but forgot to update this thread)
I have noticed one really bad thing in Dirt3, I think it's a major bug actually. In snow especially I can feel this, that just like the rumble effect pulls the wheel to one side in the menus, it seems to do the same in the game at certain times.
It basically just feels like the car is pulling to the left with strong rumble effect going through the wheel. When I see this- mainly on snow with regular rally cars, I turn down rumble from 100 to 70 or 80, that seems to help or even eliminate the problem.
**End EDIT**
If you don't like them for some reason, it's still a good starting point. You could, for instance raise Wheel Weight- from 30% to 50% if you like a lot of damping, or turn it down for a more freed-up wheel. You could set Steering Saturation a little lower if you want slower, mushier feeling steering. Those setting above feel perfect to me though.
