Mistubishi Lancer Evolution IX
Tuner Cup Race Series

I would like to welcome everyone to the first season of the EVO IX Tuner Cup series. This season will be a fantastic one, to join, just scroll down and follow the instructions provided in post #2. Below you will see a photo of the current car allowed and a list of mods allowed to be used. If you do not see a part listed, IT IS NOT ALLOWED. Violators will be punished accordingly (disqualified from the race, multiple offences will be banned for the rest of the season). Engine and chassis refresh are allowed between races. You also want to make sure you keep on top of your Oil Changes as even a small decrease in power can hurt your speed during races. Every ounce of speed counts here!

Championship Track List (Schedule for all races are fixed and times will not change)
  • Monza (Pre-Season Race, 35 laps) - July 10th, 2011
  • Tokyo R246 (30 laps) - July 17th, 2011
  • Circuit de la Sarthe 2005 (Mini Enduro, 20 laps) - July 24th, 2011

  • Suzuka Circuit (35 laps) - August 7th, 2011
  • Côte d’Azur (30 laps) - August 14th, 2011
*All races are approx. 60 minutes long except the Mini Endurance race which is about 90 minutes long.

Race Rules:
I want to keep this series as fun as possible so I will be enforcing rules very strictly. This will be a three (3) strike system. If you get 3 warnings you will be removed from the series all together. R1600Turbo has the power to warn/kick out people from the series, but that will be his decision to make and not mine. If you have a complaint about a driver(s), PM them, tell them about the situation and how you feel about it. If after talking with the driver, the matter is not resolved, PM either me or R1600Turbo with the Race Time, Lap, and Turn so we can review that moment in the replay. OLR Rules are in effect, you break a rule, you get a strike. Some rules will be enforced more strictly then others depend on the severity of the situation.

Practice Room Format:
Anyone that is on the current registration list is allowed to open a practice room, as long as there is not already one open. It is recommended that you create the room as a Fixed Host so that when you leave random people that are not part of the series do not take over the room. If others want to keep practicing, they can open a new room using these same rules.

Practice room settings are as follows:
  • 572pp limit -or- (461HP, 1080 kg), Racing Hard Tires
  • All aids OFF except for ABS
  • Grip Reduction set to REAL
  • Penalties OFF
  • Damage LIGHT

Qualifying Format:
One or two (depending on room size) chosen drivers go out one at a time (to give eachother room). When the qualifying session begins on track, one driver will be chosen to start their out lap first and the second driver will be told to hold on the line for 20 seconds until they can start.

All other visitors in the room will be watching the driver(s) to make sure their laps are clean. The room will be set to a 4 lap race. Only laps 2 and 3 will count as qualifying "flying lap" times. All drivers are allowed to attend both qualifying sessions, but can only make one qualifying attempt.
  • Qualifying Session #1 takes place every Friday at 8:00PM EDT
  • Qualifying Session #2 takes place every Saturday at 7:30PM EDT
  • Fastest lap from each driver will determine starting position
  • Top 16 qualifiers race on Sunday
  • If you cannot make either session, PM a Race Steward (scroll up)
  • Please refrain from microphone usage or messaging while someone is qualifying

Race Format:
To grid the cars at the beginning of the race, I will call everyone's PSN name in the exact order qualified. One at a time we all line up on a chosen straight of the track in order of our qualifying position. We set the room to grid drivers according to the "fastest first" option. If we start the race where everyone is parked in line in qualifying order it will put us in that order for the race start.

  • Races will be run Sunday nights at 7:30PM EDT. Room open at 6:30PM EDT
  • Open practice is allowed upon entry. Gridding starts at 7:20PM EDT
  • False starts will be turned ON.
  • Microphones are not allowed during the race, please turn them OFF
  • Drivers are highly encouraged to race CLEAN
  • If you have a problem with another driver, please send them a PM
  • If you disconnect during the race, you will be marked with a DNF
  • This season each race has a REQUIRED pit stop

Points Format / Season Standings:
  • 5 Bonus points for attending the Pre-Season race
  • 1 Bonus point for fastest lap
  • DNF drivers receive points depending on order of race exit
  1. 23 points
  2. 21 points
  3. 19 points
  4. 17 points
  5. 16 points
  6. 15 points
  7. 14 points
  8. 13 points
  9. 12 points
  10. 11 points
  11. 10 points
  12. 9 points
  13. 8 points

One other thing, other than what I addressed in my PM:

Looking at the power curves for this car, you really may as well just go with the High-RPM Turbo. The other two really drop off in power, which will force people into shifting at low-rpms which can confuse some people (like in the Cappuccinos).

#93: MÜLE_9242 (MULE_9242): TBD / TBD

Ill add you both when I get home (posting from my phone) what number do you want alvin? Also I was debating which turbo because the high rpm turbo has a lot lower torque then the mid rpm turbo. I guess ill take a vote on which one people would rather have. I might change it to the high rpm turbo but I want to hear what every ones opinion is first.

I know you are not in the States, but are you sure you want to start this series on a US Holiday weekend? It may affect participation.

I'll take number 23 thanks.

You're implying that it isn't a holiday weekend for us as well.

Not that, but I have no idea how big a deal July 1 is. I know July 4 is big, and if I were interested in this league, I still couldn't make a July 3 date.

I'm wondering if July 1 is smaller than May 5. May 5 isn't our holiday, and we still celebrate it. Could just be because we have more Mexican restaurants than... wait... we don't have Canadian restaurants.

I just say the entry from thing
23 (number) alvin23a (GTP NAME) alvin23a (PSN NAME) yellow (car colour) ? (rim colour)

Alvin, you dont need to put the brackets in the form, just replace the words with your name and colours. Make it look like it is on the list and I need exact colour name for your car because someone else might wanna use a different shade of yellow then you so thats why I need it.

Also July 1st is a nation wide holiday like July 4th is. People here celebrate it like we celebrate New Years. (not really but we party like its New Years.) Fireworks everywhere, even Victoria Day (May 24th) we call it the May Two-Four weekend and some people actually buy a case of two-fours and drink it all that night. I understand July 4th is a big holiday in the States but hopefully it wont get in the way of the season. If not many people show up for the pre-season race, I will push the series back one week.

C'mon people!! I need more people to sign up, I want all the regulars from the Integra Series and Flyin' Miata series and anyone else reading this thread!

Ok 2 things are in need of a vote.

1. High RPM Turbo (more Horse Power) or Mid RPM Turbo (more Torque), pick which one you would prefer.
2. Would you guys rather have the Mini Endurance race on Le Sarthe, Nurburgring Nordschleife, or another track (specify). Race will be about 90 minutes long.

Also if any of you are having a hard time getting a decent setup for this car, I will be posting a setup that all of you can use as a starting point and adjust what you like to suit your driving style.

Well, I am in. I have never driven this car but horsepower seems like a good idea after FMSC and Capp Cup.

#21 BrosifDuder (BrosifDuder) - TBD / TBD

Added. So your going for the High RPM turbo?

EDIT: After trying the car out with both turbos, the High RPM one would work out better.

I will give some feedback after I have tested the car with both types of turbo.

I think I would prefer La Sarthe but I would recommend the 2005 version so that people can't use the asphalt runoff areas that were added in the 2009 version and shortcut the track.

Also, I don't know how stoked I am about Trial Mountain as I think this might be too much car for that track. Is Fuji F the one with the tight chicane or is that GP? Either way, I think I would rather see Suzuka on the schedule than Fuji. That's just my input, I will still race with whatever schedule but I just wanted to speak my mind.

That's fine with me.

I'll check out the 2005 version as I never been on it. The car does fairly well on Trail Mountain but I could see why people wouldn't like it. I'll look for a similar track. As for Fuji, F has the tight chicane, personally I don't like that chicane but others like the challenge it brings. I was debating which course to use for the final race and too the Integra series and the Lexus IS-F series ended on Suzuka. I'll probably switch up a track or 2 today so just check back later.

im getting 447 hp with 407 tq.....?

Did you check to see if the Racing exhaust was installed? There is a new glitch now that whenever you Race Modify a car, you gotta check to see if the exhaust is installed. Also, remember to do an oil change as well after you broke in the engine.

yea i noticed that the first time around and that got me up to 447.... i mite hav missed something idk

Your missing either the Intake Manifold or the Exhaust Manifold, with either one of those gone, the car goes to 447 HP and 407 TQ so check to see have all the mods.

this sounds like a great series

unfortunately the time is conflicting with another commitment i have

perhaps i will be fortunate enough to join season 2

best wishes for this inaugural season!
